Also seperating Active Space and Ground Reputation Traits and Visuals.

Interesting, I might actually start using loadouts now. Would be nice if we could get an alternate skilltree build or two to add even more flexibility to loadouts (I would fully expect to have to pay for that since respecs cost zen).
Okay this is quite nice! I'm looking forward to seeing how this affects play. If you're currently running 2 Ground Actives and 2 Space Actives (hybrid), then this adds powers. If you run only Space actives, your Ground Play just got a boost, and vice versa. Granted, active powers often have long cooldowns, so maybe it's not a huge change, but I can see it helping quite a bit.
I especially like that I can keep the traits. My top ships are EPG builds, but when I want to swap to a DEW DPS ship or a Tank ship, either I give up having any helpful traits, or I painstakingly change them out, and hope I remember. A lot of my alts, I don't remember, so I forget if I've changed things.
Visuals with Loadouts? Also nice. There's some ugly ship shields out there. Granted, Vanity shields were in loadouts before so that's not major, but if I like having a tailored paintjob instead of a shield visual, now I've got that.
Put it altogether and I wonder: it's like they're a stone's throw away from Ground Loadouts. Think we'll ever get that? Maybe after this change settles in, if they've laid a framework for it? I'd buy extra ground Loadouts with Zen if I could set a Borg loadout and an EV Suit loadout separate from my typical build. Or even a Healer Loadout vs. Kit Magic on a sci capt.
Call me "El," she/her only. I love my wife and I don't care who knows it!
While the QoL update is nice it has a bug. The screenshot of the new traits layout in the new loadout blog has lost the other traits section. How do we now see our other traits? That's a negative QoL change along side the positive change. Please fix so this is 100% postive.
What we really need is separate ground/space specialization sets.
I'll always agree upon this & have since Specializations were introduced, & separated, into Ground & Space catagories.
Cryptic's Loadout updating is a great qulity of life mechanic & a nice step in the right direction in my opinion, so well done Cryptic, but it should include Specializations as well for an even better mechanic!
This all sounds great... so long as it removes or fixes the current loadout issues - as in, what and how many devices are on my ship, regardless of what loadout I'm supposedly using.
When I see this all working fine, then I might be happy about it.

Sadly, a valid point, since rearranging ship items & abilities still happen time to time.
This certainly puts to rest the complaint that the devs never listen to the players, it is exactly what so many have asked for.
How so? Where does it mention in this announcement this is happening because Cryptic saw this "voiced" concern & they're reacting to it, please cite the information? Was it previously mentioned in some livestream? Perhaps Cryptic came-up with this innovation independently on their own?
It is a very nice quality of life, soon to be, improvement for players I totally agree, but your "certainly puts to rest the complaint that devs never listen to the players," seems pretentious & false based solely upon the literral official announcement. Besides I think it is more accurate, & more realistic, to think that sometimes Cryptic listens & sometimes they don't.

I didn't say it means they always listen to the players, just that it is plain that that the complaint that they never listen is not true. In fact, I am one of the people who have repeatedly asked for Vorta and other Gamma species be added to the Dominion "faction" and the devs seem totally against the idea, and then there is the classic example of the Nova-class which has been totally neglected since the game began.
Still, it is great that they apparently listened to the QoL requests that lead to this update.

I assume you mean "Well Traveled" and "Deprogrammed" right?
Since the character they show is a Vulcan, its likely that the former trait wasn't obtained.

I'm with you on the Vorta species being added, I know some/many even request Founders & even though that would be exciting I just don't see it, & any other Gamma species would probably be a long-shot but beneficial too imo. Yeah I see a lot of Nova-class being mentioned in the forums for ages. Definitely Vorta though.
Within the context of this official announcement I just didn't see the connection. I guess on any previous livestream I viewed if it was mentioned I blocked it out lol but still nicely welcomed.

Cryptic has repeatedly been asked about expanding loadouts to include this stuff on the livestreams, and have equally responded saying they know its osmething players want, it was just about finding the time to do it, and that there was a lot of back end issues to deal with.
While I have wanted this for a long time.. I'll admit I am not looking forward to this.
Recently, Cryptic has shown that they don't test anything.. at all. When this hits, our load outs are going to be so screwed up it's going to be maddening.
Now 6 months later when they have fixed all the bugs in the release.. that will be a good time!
OK, maybe i did not see it, but, i want to know if they added the ability for skill specializations to change as well depending on space or ground. All the rest of these changes are an added "whoopty doo" type of bonus. But having Commando or Pilot in a spec and going from ground to space handicaps you and NEEDS this kind of change. Who is running the show for this game...?
QoL Update asked for for years so well thumbs up for that. Ground/Space split would be nice as well next since they obviously are brave enough to do backend changes again
Not looking forward to do all my skill trees and loadouts once again..... but let's not spoil this good thing with my laziness

I think its only needed for Strategist/commando right, since a lot of specializations are space and ground.

E.g a tac oriented or sci oriented skill tree.
So this update is half baked.
