I started with the free one on the jugger, then I upgraded my other miracle worker ships (Tzenkethi dread, discoprise, Gagarin & t6 recluse). Turns out I could not stop there and did the rest of my active ships amongst my toons as well.
12 in sum so not cheap. But with sale and the fact that I don’t often change ships (every 2 years or so) it is something I could afford.
The performance increase is just too hard to ignore here.

At least you can give the little ship some love now...in a roundabout way. I'd still like to see that little ship get T6 treatment...maybe a 3 pack with a tac(defiant pathfinder), eng, and sci version. Maybe that would make it worth their $while$ to work it into the game.
So far, only my Durgath.. because I love it.. and it's a very flawed ship.
I've got several more tokens in reserve, but I haven't decided to spend them on my other ships yet. Leaning towards my Bastion, JHVC, and maybe Acheros. Still haven't gotten around to building my Tzen-Tarr yet, but I'll probably throw one on that for 7 tac console giggles as well.

A guildmate who had the Durgath used to complain on its default hangar pets as they were doing less dps even than my advanced obelisk swarmers, when he parsed. Its been a long time though, and its possible that was fixed but he was seriously annoyed after he paid 1b back then

My main bugbear about the ship is the bridge seating; you can't really run photonic officer(which I generally prefer over A2B) on it without giving up tactical for the uni seat(APO is a godsend for a ship with that much inertia). The upgrade does let you run a 5th tac console on it, making it a proper successor to a tac bortasqu/martok.
As for the frigates.. they're.. okay; they get channeled deconstruction and don't instantly pop the moment something sneezes on them. I still run a bay of Orion Interceptors on it like every other KDF ship I own though.
I used my freebie to upgrade my Legendary Kelvin Connie and purchased the 3 pack to upgrade my miracle worker Disco Connie. I'm really happy with both, I'm getting a bit more oomf out of my phasers. Both are my favorite ships, though I think I will spend one of my remaining tokens to upgrade my TOS connie as well, can't leave behind such a classic!
You do all realise that if they had released the change(same changes) named as T7 class of ships, they wouldnt be able to monetize it like they did now. That is because, unlike the change from T5 to T6, now we got scalling ships so what would happen would be the current T6 ships would just scale up to T7. Back when it was T6 they had to remake most T5s to T6s with a new skin and a trait added - now with scalling, if T7 officially ever comes, its less work for them, but harder to monetize
I have a lot of alts but just starting off on a few characters I did 25+ some ships which due to that limited time thing with ultra rare tokens was pretty quick and easy to get all the ones I wanted upgraded. Plus ended up with some upgrades left over which I didn't touch any of the epic ones because they may do this for other things too so didn't want to waste epic ones on this.
Upgraded Cardassian Intel Science Dreadnaught. Easy choice, only other T6 I have is Risian Weather Control Vessel. I like both ships, I use a lot of exotic damage, but the dreadnaught is better with more hull, hanger frigates & an extra weapon.
Upgraded my Inquiry class. Wasn’t sure at first, but gotta admit The ship is growing on me, so chose that one for the free T6-X. Gotta keep my headcanon up! 🤣

Good call. The ship is surely great. 😏

I've always had a priority of upgrades, so my main's Eternal-class went first. Then I bought a few Z-Store 3-packs. So far, it's been Baratam Warbird and Fleet Leosa Warbird. Then I had to think about what I really wanted to fly for the rest.
I decided I have two Klingons (one Fed) each running their own style of Khitomer Battlecruiser, so I gave it to that ship (one of my favorite event ships for sure.) No regrets at all. Next I've used on Legendary Ody Dread and MW Intrepid. Last will probably go to Legendary MW Light Cruiser, because TOS and it's one of my next most used Legendary ships. Looking at it written out I see I didn't really show any of my Escorts some love, but I've just really grown to hate flying them, so I guess that's that.
Once applied, each ship used different choices for consoles and traits. Some ships got more DPS punch, others more survivability. Generally enjoyed trying some different combinations already. I've got a lot more tweaking to do, but it's been nice playing around with the different combos.
Call me "El," she/her only. I love my wife and I don't care who knows it!
I upgraded the Verne. It pushed my stats to 639 EPG and 425 CtrlX. I was able to add "Invincible" as my starship trait. Now I'm waiting for the Delta Reputation to return next April so I can get the Temporal Negotiator device to fill the new device slot.
I upgraded a grand total of 49 ships (not counting several freebie doubles on my alt), including my very cute T5-U mesh weaver (now with 11 consoles doing remarkably well), and my T5-U Dyson destroyer (LOL @ the latter).
I decided to upgrade my fleet kor scibop...I can now pack an extra heal device, the uni console means I can upgrade my torpedo firepower and science and six starship traits is crazy as I can add even more bonus effects to my grav wells/anomalies..or the trait that makes fire jet out my bops rear (yeah its not greay, but it feels awesome)
I then upgraded the fleet t6 vo'quv to increase its heavy turrets firepower (I went with the galactica tactic of loading up on nothing but heavy turrets then wading into the fray guns blazing)
As to the other upgrades... I have yet to decide as I have a tendancy to move ships so I only want to invest in ships that I tend to use although the dranuur boomerang is a candidate just to increase its ability to survive
My main upgraded his Wells and my alt-acct upgraded her T5-U Intrepid class. Both freebie upgrades, of course. Been without inet since Friday, so haven't had a chance to try to buy some more.
I'm debating whether or not to do that.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

Sadly you were not around for the sale. We got 3 upgrader for 1600 zen.
Not that bad of a deal considering they spared us T7 or any ridiculous unlocks via a new fleet holding.
Good part is I think we can count on that sale to return regularly.
In the meantime it’s up to you. I’d go with favorite ships and/or those you are unlikely to give up.
In any case the upgrades have a noticeable impact. Not quite T7 as we don’t have another boff power slot but with another console and trait slot it almost feels like it. 😏

This IS T7 with another name so it can be monetized through upgrade items. IF a T7 ever comes our T6 ships will just be able to scale to that so its hard to monetize, for Cryptic. Scalling was good for us mainly
T6 Klingon Bird-of-Prey got the free one. I think I bought a three-pack later during the discount - think I only used two, on the legendary Connie and legendary Crossfield...

In some ways, yes.. it's similar to T7, but it's obviously not the same and this method is far superior. It's how T6 should have been handled initially, but that means that Cryptic actually learned something from last time.
Going from T5 to T6 we got an additional console slot, the introduction of Star Ship Traits as well as the introduction of Specialist Seating. T6 Ships also have 1 additional Bridge Officer slot then T5 ships. T6 ships brought in several new game play mechanics.. but they also came with the huge downside that all T5 ships became obsolete overnight.
Some people hate the power creep and I get that, but the REAL problem with the T6 ship issue was purchased ships becoming obsolete. Yes, they still worked, yes they could still do content and yes there was T5U but obviously that didn't pacify people that had paid for the strongest 'end game level' content only to feel like the rug was yanked out from under them.
This system fixes the biggest problem with the Tier system. Your ship is not invalidated, the ship you know and love can be upgraded and the cost is far less then having to buy new ships. I personally don't believe that 'Tier 7' will ever actually exist.. I think Cryptic learned from the past. I think you're far more likely to see mechanics like this in place where small parts of the existing ships can be augmented in this way to make them more powerful without invalidating old purchases.
Some people don't like this system.. I think it's great. This is how they should have handled ship upgrades from Delta Rising in my opinion. I have upgraded several ships and will probably do a couple more. I think the cost is very fair for what you get but at the same time, I don't feel that I need to do it to any ship. It actually feels purely optional and I like that. T6X is a far better path then T7 could ever be.
I used it on my D'Kyr. Since there don't seem to be any (other than the t'pau) T6 Vulcan ships on the Horizon. I wanted it to be a bit more useable. I really am hoping for some more t6 vulcan ships in the future.

Eventually I would like to do that with the T5 Star Cruiser and possibly the N'Kaam science scout, though I will probably upgrade the Faeht and maybe the Iktomi (though only one character is ever likely to have the Iktomi) first. If the phoenix event did not end a few hours before I got a UR token I might have upgraded one or two of them already, as it is I am undecided what to use the single (free) X-upgrade token on.
