One should think the research lab consoles are the default to slot for epg builds and for a long time they probably were.
Unfortunately things change and on epg boats they do a lot. We get more and more special consoles for example wich have extremely strong clicky abilities.
Yesterday I changed out a lab console for a stupid one called multi target tractor arrays. Good call as it’s active power added 40K DPS to my ISE run.
One dude who is a much better sci wizard than I am and who often dishes out half a million DPS gets around 70K from that single console alone. No lab console can do that.

But I don't have time right now to jump in game and check price. It benefits from CtrlX and EPG, which is good, but the 5km range, (along with price) would be my hesitations. Still, I do thank you for the suggestion.

OK, I'm back from the Western Union office, and logged into the game. My Feddie Sci captain bought the console in a box for 4.8 million, which is a bit more than I like to spend, but tolerable. I'll give it a try.
KDF side, I would have to buy a ship, and that's not happening.

Yea learning never stops in STO.
It should not be too expensive for feds on the exchange.
And sure from naked stats the range feels very limited. When it was new I dismissed it right away.
Stupid me. Spawny has it in his 1x1 for epg builds in the league homepage and I kept reading that thing in other players logs.
Good thing i picked one up last week since the prices are now bound to skyrocket.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

If you can give it a go. I turned out to be surprised and embarrassed alike.
