They look great!
...
Which unfortunately means I'm gonna be disappointed by the stats and choice of specialization. It's always like that.
To life I say: Hab SoSlI’ Quch!
Well if we go by the history pretty much every c-store ship with a science bias has either had intel or temporal seating, since these are carriers my money would probably be in intel.
Finally be nice to get a T6 Voquv no matter what and hopefully they at least give it standard cloak
Romulan carrier is looking pretty nice too!
i am expecting it will be something other than intel or temp. i would like to see optional seating, or pick a flavor the player likes, and lock it in once picked.
however, most from what i have read and such are MW for sci stuff. i could be wrong, but thats what i have seen in the forums as far as what people say. i am not a fan of MW, and i will leave it at that.
ive not chosen one in any higher tier simply because i dislike the seating choice for what i want to use. yes, there have been discussions about this fits with that, yadda, yadda, but it doesnt fit me.
aside from this, which i will take a hard look at for specs, etc, there is but one in the bundle of 10 that i would enjoy flying, but i am not going to spend that amount of zen for one ship out of ten i will use and want.
so i am hoping that this carrier will be good enough to warrant the expenditure.
People prefer MW for science stuff?
Strange, I've always preferred Temporal. For what little specialisation abilities I use anyway, cause regular Science abilities are better than most specialisations imo.
I don't really see how MW is great for a sci build to be fair. I like mixed armaments, but for ships where I mix cannons, turrets, dual beams and torpedoes. That's usually not my sci ship with only six weapon slots
Seriously? some dev must really hate existing sci ships. there are far more requests for the Grissom/Oberth and Nova/Rhode Island than for another cat box, Un less they are planning a Catbox/Voquv bundle which would be very welcome
Would be nice if they're each different, engi, sci, tac variants, and specializations with different consoles, but more than likely just be clones as other packs so the only real difference will be the warbird and vanguard, and possibly a built-in cloak on the Vo'quv.
The only build for Sci-based carriers I could pull off was drain/debuff to help the pets do more damage. The strategy of carriers as I see it is to have the endless pets attract aggro away from you and your team, while you yourself are somewhat tanky when necessary, and you mark targets for drain/debuff to help your entire team.
Actually - not counting the Mudd's ships and the Legendary pack - the "regularly priced" store ships have always been available individually. Even when also available in a bundle.
This. The only oddball has been the Legendary Bundle. Normal C-Store releases have allowed for individual as well as bundle if they are in one.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I guess Klingon ... would have be built up from the ground up.
No, because if you look at the picture, it should be clear what the klingon one is. A T6-Vo'q'uv. It matches perfectly.
And it had better be out for 3k zen, it's the only one I want.
I guess you can only hope, but again - lately it's been very much 'bundle or nothing'.
Actually - not counting the Mudd's ships and the Legendary pack - the "regularly priced" store ships have always been available individually. Even when also available in a bundle.
A Romulan carrier? Finally!! With T'varo frigates? Yes, please!! What a sexy looking ship!
Though I would prefer the option to just buy the Romulan one, I am sure I will be forced to swallow the cost of a cross faction bundle for 12k zen. But more than likely, they will throw in some extra TRIBBLE as an excuse to inflate the cost up to 14k or 15k zen. Or worse, a choice pack or some kind...
We can hope that this is the long desired T6 Vo'quv. I will be royally pissed off if it can't launch the BoP pets that the Vo'quv family is currently the only platform for.
The Bundle will be 8k Zen normally 6.4k the Weekend it releases.

I hope these carrier ships add something new to the table for carriers & these aren't just prettier pixels, if the 4 ships are just the latter then I'll pass.

It'd still be good for the Romulans, at least. I think the only dedicated carrier they have right now is the T'Laru, which is rare as hen's teeth.
I guess my only questions at this point are whether they'll be 'Fleet Grade', and what their layout will be. Science seems likely considering the Atrox and Vo'quv, but they would be competing directly with the Jupiter and JHVC; the latter being very steep competition.

I am hoping for a Sci/Tac hybrid type carrier.. but I guess time will tell. If they're pure Science Carriers then they likely aren't for me, which is also fine.

They won't be fleet grade. The Atrox was a standard T5 ship when it came out and gained a fleet ship late into the Tier 5 phase.
I've been asking for a T6 Atrox for a while and can now say I'll be able to get it on the 20th provided I have enough Dil and willing to sacrifice saving it for the Legendary bundle.

I for one am not a fan of the T'laru for a few of reasons: (1) it is a lockbox ship that is hard to find on the exchange, (2) the seating is not ideal for me (I hate ships with only one LtCmd seat), and (3) I am not a fan of intel ships.
Since these new ships are C-store, I am already happy, and I can hope the seating will be better on these ships.

What? Thrai doesn't count because it only has one hangar?

The T'Laru used to be one of the best carriers in the game. But since they decided to buff 'Flight Deck' Carriers by giving them 2 bays, the T'Laru is now left behind. It has the same 2 hangars that Flight Deck Carriers have, but it only has 6 weapon hardpoints instead of the 8 you get on FD Carriers. The only advantage the T'Laru has left is that it can use Romulan Drones, but for most people that's not worth the lockbox cost.
The Romulans really have nothing for Carriers since the T'Laru isn't a valid or even desirable option for most anymore. Adding 2 hardpoints to the T'Laru would really help, but I think we all know there is no chance of that happening.

This seemingly didn't apply to ALL ships with only one hangar though. Thrai still only has one. Though the game calls it a "dreadnought carrier"

As I said in my post, it only effected 'Flight Deck Carriers.'
There is a long list of ships that were not effected.
Correct. They did not add second hangars across the board - though they pretty much did when it comes to the engineering-focused ships.
That left the science-focused two-hangar carriers - like the T'Laru, Jupiter, etc. - in the dust, as they lost the advantage of being the only two-hangar carriers.... otherwise they have the slotting of science vessels, except that they do not have a secdef; meanwhile the tactically-focused carriers (and a handful of true sci vessels, such as the Leg Intrepid) still only have one hangar.
Meanwhile the engineering carriers gained that second hangar and are otherwise equal to non-carrier engineering ships....????
So basically: the engineering carriers got buffed to the point that their hangars are a "plus" above a comparable ship, with no minuses; meanwhile the sci and tac hangar ships got nothing and (at least in the sci case) are inferior to the non-hangar ships.
I hope these carrier ships add something new to the table for carriers & these aren't just prettier pixels, if the 4 ships are just the latter then I'll pass.

Dreadnought Cruisers are Engineering based and have 8 weapons and cruiser commands and 1 hangar

And today we see a post about the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Support Carrier. Again, it looks like there are swarms as well as regular fighters. Only the Rom carrier has not appeared yet.
Hopefully this is a sign that these new carriers will have something special. Built-in swarms of a particular type of fighter? The ability to convert any hangar pet into swarms instead of individual ships? Something like that would go a long way towards making 'true' carriers seem like carriers again.
I hope these carrier ships add something new to the table for carriers & these aren't just prettier pixels, if the 4 ships are just the latter then I'll pass.

This seems to be a Prime Timeline T'Laru, cant wait to launch some T'varo's from that!

Honestly to me I think back to the Romulan Battleship back in SFC...just with not so many nacelles

Now that so many non-carriers have 2 hangers, I wonder if 'true' carriers will get something to make them worthwhile? Supposedly they gave up 2 weapon slots for hangers, now that's just a pointless thing. I'd just slap 2 more hangers on for a simple fix, but got no clue if that's technologically possible for the game.
Maybe they'll...
just give the T6 carriers 2 more weapons slots or maybe the experimental weapon slot like escorts? That'd be cool.
make a bunch of new powerful hanger pets that only work on carriers?
let carrier hangers launch 2x the number of ships vs non-carriers?
There's plenty of things that could make 'true' carriers get a much needed buff. I just hope Cryptic thinks they need it too.

Well all ships that have two hangars are carriers...there are Carriers, Flight Deck Carriers, Dreadnought Carriers...and Support Carriers if it is some new category or just a name.
If these support carriers are just the same as the T5 carriers just with improved boff seating then yeah they really need something to compete.
