These aren't T7 ships. The new Defiant is noticeably lacking an experimental weapon slot. It isn't the first 5/3 ship.

The interesting thing to me is these are fleet level ships out of the gate like typical multifaction packs and unlike their existing T6 versions. Presumably there won't be separate fleet versions.

3 - Why is the Premium Bundle so high in price and filled with so many misc gambling items?

I am not impressed with these prices! I have already purchased all of the defiant ships for example and already have the Quad Cannons, Cloaking Device and the Quantum Warhead Module and now they want me to purchase them again. There should be a discount for players who have already purchased these ships.

As for the prices themselves, I would say that the normal price for the premium bundle as it is should be $300 and $200 for the normal bundle. The sale prices should be somewhere in the range of $250 for the premium and $150 for the normal bundle. I completely agree with everyone who says that the premium bundle feels very padded. I really don't like all of the "bonus" stuff that comes with the premium bundle. If I wanted that rubbish I would just buy it myself.

Lol if you think paying $300 for space pixels is a good idea. Furthermore, these are all Federation ships, which means they're useless to those of us who arn't Feddies. Klanks and roms get TRIBBLE again!

from what I can gather on reddit... 10 fed ships all T6 all new variants of previously released ships via zen store or lock box... they all come with a new account unlock starship trait. these ships have all the same previously released starship trait and all consoles from various versions.

not sure if the premium bundle is worth it... the extras are meh.

if they are offering these ships in a single release... will probably buy 1. if it's bundle only... will probably buy the base bundle...

rumors say it's the 10 ships showing at the end of legacy trailer? which includes TOS connie... only ship I would consider buying as a single. Kelvin Connie and Discovery Connie are meh. Same from Discovery Crossfield. I already own all the regular zen store T6s...

if you already own the T6s from zen store and lock box... your buying this for the new account unlock starship traits...

still no word on what those traits do...

My guess is, we're gonna have maybe 1KDF and 1ROM - doubt anything for Jems.
So yeah, it does feel like it's a fed only kinda thing.

Fed aligned Romulans and Jem'hadar can use them its the Klingon aligned that get screwed.

But as to the value of the pack, its more then worth it if you get it at the sales price and have few of these ships and no life so you have all the time in the world to play them. Otherwise its only worth it if you have money to burn.

The 10 ship slots should have been per character instead of per account, that would have made it worth it period.

1 - Are they worth the price, sale or normal prices?
    Not to me, they aren't.

2 - What happens if you have some of the consoles found on these ships already, from prior purchased ships?
Nothing, same as with the Picard bundle.

3 - Why is the Premium Bundle so high in price and filled with so many misc gambling items?
Because they think we all share one brain cell and we're gonna fall for the "but all those things are surely worth 15k more than the normal bundle".

I'm not gonna cry "DOOOOM", because there's no need for it, but I'm gonna say I am disappointed.
Especially if the answer to the real question - which is: will these ships be purchasable on their own, outside of the bundle? - is gonna be "no".

This makes this Defiant a Warship instead of an Escort by STO catagories I believe.

Ships you've been waiting for, but none of those silhouettes appear to be the Oberth that a great many people have repeatedly asked for over the years? One might prove to an upgraded Nova, but time will tell?
  • stoyozstoyoz Member Posts: 63 Arc User
You don't have these ships. These ships have different stats. These versions are full specialization versions—at least the two they've shown. There was no Defiant with pilot maneuvers or Galaxy with command's inspiration abilities. Plus these ships have consoles you'd need at least 2 extra ships you'd never fly in order to collect.

There are 10 new ships in the bundle, yes (obviusly). But most of the contents of the bundle are old ships, like the Venture, or the Valiant.

ummm if you dont own any of the ships.... sure for new folks/players it would be worth it,

IF the rumored 10 ships are the ones shown at the end of the legacy legends trailer... some of those ships are lock box only ships. if you own all the regular T6 ships... still good value I think if the other ships in bundle are lock box ships. Picard bundle has a lock box ship going for $120/$60.

if you already own all the lock box ships and zen store ships... I would say, hell no. you will end up paying $200 to $300 for 10 new ship traits. but then again, your a whale and have money to burn so maybe it doesnt matter if it's worth it or not.

I don't know anything about any leaks but I think it'll be the series hero ships that don't have Specialization Seating or mechanics yet plus the most iconic designs from the other factions. There are 10 spots teased so I'll hazard a few guesses:

    1) Enterprise D - Confirmed
    2) Defiant - Confirmed
    3) Voyager (Intrepid)
    4) Enterprise E (Sovereign)
    5) Excelsior
    6) Prometheus
    7) Klingon Bird of Prey
    8) Romulan D'deridex
    9) Jem'Hadar Attack Ship - BIG Maybe as 2 of the 3 designs (Recon and Strike) are box drops.
10a) Reliant (Miranda) - Although it only has the T1 and T6 versions I can't think of another ship that fits the criteria of iconic status with lack of Specialization Mechanics
10b) NX Enterprise - As with the Miranda it only has the T1 and T6 versions, but it is a Hero ship of Enterprise and has no Specialization Mechanics yet.

I don't think any of the Connies will be in this bundle as they are all box drops except for the T1 TOS version and the T2 Cruiser. And the high end versions already have Specialization Seating and Mechanics included so I think the Beyond Connie will come later if at all.

I'm considering it, but it obviously heavily depends on what else they put in this pack, and whether you can get them individually. I've been saving towards the expected 10th anniversary pack for a bit, but even discounted it is a lot more than I expected. If we knew more about the traits that would be another value indicator as well.

The premium pack seems very overpriced. The one thing there that appears to justify the huge price increase is the Phoenix prize token which if it were to grant a ship account wide, maybe that would add enough value, but as it doesn't seem to its just silly.

For me I don't have most of the T<5 ships for at least Galaxy and Defiant, and many other classic ships so getting those consoles saves me from buying them separately as I'd probably otherwise eventually do so. I am hoping for an Excelsior in the bunch, even though I do have all the older versions of that ship.

Considering the Galaxy pack is 4k, the Intrepid pack is 5k (I'm 90% sure an Intrepid will be in there because of Voyager), and the Defiants don't come in a pack but would be another 6500 if you wanted all those ships for their console sets and skins. Just that bunch is 15500 zen, assuming you'd want all those ships for the console sets. If you have none of those ships or only the T6 versions as I do, it is a pretty damn good value since there are going to be another 7 ships and whatever sub tier 6 versions they have.

Another plus is these appear to be fleet level ships out of the gate, and as I don't involve myself with fleet stuff to any serious degree, I have always had to pay that console slot tax.

Also a plus is these are full specialization ships where the prior versions only had specialization seating.

A real minus is lacking the admiralty cards for the older ships.

YMMV on whether it's worth it. Personally, it's hard for me to make a judgement one way or the other with only two ships unveiled and no details on the new traits they come with. The full pilot Defiant is something I'd buy independent of the pack, while the Command Galaxy isn't. A lot depends on the remaining ships.

The other 6 are still up in the air.

I'm not going to post them but several of the ships have been leaked, including screenshots of some of them. I saw them a few hours ago.

Please tell me these are not the "ships you've been waiting for". Galaxy variant number 5 and Defiant variant number 8 were not exactly the ships I was hoping for.

Call me crazy but I'm not going to buy a load of fed ships just to give my kdfs the traits - if they had made a trait pack with a discount...then maybe but as it is...not a chance.

    With regards to Prices:

My personal thoughts are that they seem rather high, even the sale prices... In the past, most large ship bundles have ranged from around $120 to $150 per large bundle... In some ways the sale price for the Standard Package is close to these past prices as it includes a few more items that did have an associated production cost... But the normal price feels like price gouging completely... $300 for the standard package as a normal price is far too high in my opinion... That is in essence a Lifetime Sub to the game type of price, for a set of Digital Items in an online game... $300 could get you come computer hardware, a TV, a summer time electrical bill for running the AC constantly, etc... I really do believe the sale price for the Standard Package should be a Normal price, not a sale price...

As to the Premium Package, in essence the extra $150 is getting you a guaranteed Phoenix Ship and a bunch more digital gambling related items... The likelihood peeps will get an additional ship out of those items is extremely low... Why bother adding all those extra gambling items into the package at all? I feel like it was mostly in order to justify an extra $150 increase in price from the Standard Package's normal $300 price tag... That is almost half a grand at it's normal price... The 10000 unprocessed Dil also feels like a joke... 100k maybe, but 10k, it might as well not even be in the package at all... The Premium Package is in essence a form of 100% profit... As the production costs for all those extra items was made up a long time ago... They are there mostly as enticements for folks with a digital gambling disorder and/or vice... Sure there are a few non-gambling items in there as well, but again, those items are pure profit and feel out of place... There could have been some other new items added to the Premium Package to make it stick out from the Standard while also sticking to the 10th Anniversary Theme... But instead, the Premium Package looks more like a greedy money grab...

The one thing that REALLY stands out between the two packages the most, with regards to what they include, is the Phoenix Ship... Which is going to be Character Bound, not an account unlock... So all those extras really are just being thrown in to make the $150 extra for a Phoenix Ship feel more palatable... And to feed into peoples digital gambling addiction...

In either case, I'm sure there will be folks who spend money on either of these packages... Will the majority of players buy them? Highly doubtful... As most folks have families to support and bills to pay... High priced virtual items tend to be a hard pill to swallow for folks with real life budgets... The Standard Package will probably get the most attention, as all the extras in the Premium are things you can get some other time...

With regards to the Ships themselves:

I think the Ship Costumes are a cool concept... As I always prefer low priced fluff in MMORPG cash shops... I'm hoping these Costumes are eventually sold separately with reasonable prices, and are not overpriced items we'll end up seeing in the Mudd Store... I'm highly surprised it took the developers this long to add stuff like the Ship Costumes into the game...

Some of my Fleet mates pointed out that the Defiant ship with these Packages actually has a lower base turn rate compared to the current Pilot versions in game.. I'm sure other folks have more detailed insight as to comparisons between the ships (that we currently know about)…

Most of the "leaks" come from the old Star Trek Legacy trailer shown off at one of the conventions, which simply had all the hero ships lined up next to each other, these ships were the normal hero ships, and not these new variants, and we know CBS has forbid a C store T6 Connie, so there goes like 3 of the ships right there

The screenshots I saw are DEFINITELY new variants that are not currently available.

For the 30000 version: With only 2 ships known, who knows? Some people will say "no" without having enough information of course.

    All we know now is:
    - Ships include the costume unlocks, consoles and special gear like quad cannons from the T1 - T5 versions of the ships
    - There are some unique new costumes like the Defiant nose art
    - There are some new mastery traits

    For the 45000 version:

Not really. Getting that Epic token requires opening on average somewhere between 500 -1,000 Phoenix boxes (2,000,000+ dil or 5000+ zen). But with opening boxes you'd get a mountain of upgrade tokens and other goodies like the shotgun, special duty officers, epic admiralty ships. If it was an account unlock Phoenix token it would possibly be worth it.

Do people not realize the new Defiant is a Pilot WARSHIP and not an Escort?

also people talking about the silhouettes?
    Unavngivet.jpg
The silhouettes don't actually show which ships we are getting... Some of them could be KDF, Rommy, and Jemmy ships.

except the trailer says coming early 2020... these ships were already released. So it is reasonable to assume it is these new variants. I already own all hero ships in the zen store, but none of the lock boxes. If I can get a T6 TOS Connie as a direct buy I would... if they are selling it as a single ship same pricing as the Picard bundle. But if they say it's only in a bundle for $200 to $300, but it includes several other lock box ships... I can stomach it.

Worth it? I think, not. It's not with 2000-3000ms ping time, playing game is very difficult. Please fix servers add more thingies to packs (uniforms, doffs, boffs, etc).
  • skk1701jskk1701j Member Posts: 243 Arc User
9 Ship Bundle is 12k zen. With the extras it should be 20k and the premium about 28k. For 30k it should include the corresponding bundles (Galaxy, Defiant ...).
  • starkaosstarkaos Member Posts: 11,556 Arc User
The Standard Bundle could be worth it depending on which ships you have, but definitely not the Premium Bundle. The Legendary Pilot Warship (Defiant) has the Cloaking Device from the T5 Tactical Escort Retrofit, the Quantum Warhead module from the T6 Valiant Tactical Escort, the Phaser Quad Cannons from the T4 Tactical Escort Refit, the starship trait from the Valiant Tactical Escort, all of the ship costumes for these ships, a new costume, a new starship trait, but different stats compared to the Valiant Tactical Escort. The total cost for these three ships is 6500 Zen.

So if you don't have any of the ships in the Standard Bundle and want to use every ship, then it seems to be worth it. If you have most of the ships in this bundle or all of them, then it is not worth it. Getting a discount based on how many iconic ships you have would be great, but I doubt it will happen.
