  • Theme: "To Hell with Honor" new TFO
  • Guest: content designer John Hegner
  • This time there'll be spoilers for the new TFO.
  • 1st time ever: an official early announcement of a feature, complete with playthrough!
  • "The best TFO we've ever done" - Andre's offscreen opinion of TFO
  • "Any pressure there?" - Mike
  • "It is fun." - John
  • Chain reaction explosions are a big thing in this TFO.
  • We'll be hitting J'Ula's refitting shipyard to take down her fleet while it's still inactive.
  • Shipyard is on the moon surface.
  • There'll be many turrets that we would be able both blast trough or evade.
  • It'll be race against time to destroy ships before they power up and escape.
  • Internal playtests showed several viable strategies.
  • QA team that are flying alongside Mike stated to be using reasonably-equipped characters, not super-optimized ones.
  • We also saw current new logging screen. Volcanic place.
  • Mike isn't sure it's final.
  • New music is being recorded specifically for the TFO.
  • (Oh man, an actual landscape! And it looks great from art perspective.)
  • There are fuel dumps and munition depots that will explode and create AoE explosion.
  • (Was... was that Apocalypse Now reference in TFO NPC coordinator's line?)
  • No atmosphere and low gravity, so no new flight mechanics - at least this time.
  • There were plans for atmosphere interference.
  • All that time J'Ula is flying around in sweep mode.

  • Elachi walkers!

  • What a beautiful explosions those reactors produce! Art team work produced really great result.

  • That TFO is important to story.
  • John, about J'Ula siccing elachi at as: "They're doing non-klingons a favour by introducing them to the glory that is dying with honour."
  • Huge elachi walker! Like, really HUGE.

  • In the end, they decided to not make ground collisions damaging.
  • There'll be no elite or advanced version at launch.
  • There'll be end cutscene that didn't make it into the test.

  • There's TMP era ship in works.
  • Mike forgot that Oberth is TMP era ship. Chat did not.
  • Permanent Phoenix boxes on console are coming with the next big update.
  • No recruitment event with anniversary, but one is still coming.
  • About anniversary ship:

  • John: "It is literally a giant birthday cake."
  • There'll be blog post about TFO tomorrow, including video.
  • That's one way how they'll learn that, Mike.
  • Man, that was a gorgeous new map and effects, and mechanics look good enough too.

    recruit events are always welcome, because they not only come with an additional pylon slot, but they also increase the max amount of pylons you can have, and as any expert player knows, YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS​​

    The footage of that upcoming "To Hell with Honor" looked like it might be loads of fun!

    It was a shame while the 2 gents were discussing the TFO they didn't take the time to notice the game volume was too loud & many viewers were complaining, via chat, that we couldn't here the discussion.

    Otherwise, it was a short but still decent livestream.

    It would be nice if they also opened up older recruitments at the same time ....

    I just hope Temporal Recruitment event comes back this year... It's the only Recruit that I've missed

    The main reason we haven't seen it is because it is Fed only and they've said they wanted to be more inclusive of other factions.
