Or adaptation could be something like integrating the trait "History Will Remember" into the Borg. Add damage/armor/shield resist/bleedthrough reduction/passive hull regeneration/etc as 2.5% chance per incoming shot for 1 of 20 or 30 stacks
Frankly I'm worried about what they will do to the STFs. They are a little too quick and easy, but the formulaic 15 minute demand and asinine instantly respawning enemies from so many others is really frustrating, not to mention the ones that tend to go very much longer for player reasons.
The standard is some ~15min auto-win timer with everything else being optional. If we're lucky, doing some of those optional things will skip a minute or two off the timer.
They can't take out Defera unless they remove some Endeavors. Where would you be able to kill 60 Borg for the Hard Endeavor elsewise (in a reasonable amount of time)?
Why...Random Ground Borg TFOs that I'm sure they feel are underplayed. I'm sure this was a Gekko suggestion.

I'm done doing anything borg if Defera is out of the game. the only way any of my toons will advance in borg rep will be using the marks boxes from endeavours

Just make them like those old D'Deridex Defenders from a long time back (2012 or 2013) - those things were a real pig to kill for many players, thanks to their healing/self-preseveration abilities.
The mechanic I was thinking of was damage type dependent, so if all players are using phaser it gets to max phaser resist stacks almost immediately. Also the buffs had an expiration timer, so if you stopped hitting it with phaser it'd lose phaser resist stacks.
The Borg need to be a tougher challenge, I'll be on the fence about the revamp until I've played it so until then, it's wait and see really
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

If they make Defera like the Dyson zone they're going to have to come up with a drone as powerful as the V-Rex. Assimilated Gorn go down just as fast as everthing else it seems. I once had a thread about nighmare enemies like an Assmiliated V-Rex. Or worse, an Assmilated Voth Citidel Dreadnought.

The solution to making the Borg a bit more challenging on ground is easy, but can you imagine the outrage when the Borg adapt to Physical and Kinetic Damage as well?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
wait - what is happening to Defera? Mowing them down with me tommygun is a fav endeavor.

I have no illusions about these three new TFO. They are going to stink compared to the old. Infected is now the last old timey outlier of speed runs. Crystal still could be but I find myself sitting for some minutes waiting for it to go. The new borg are going to be the same time gates as all others.
as an aside the borg are still my toughest enemy by far. Maybe this is because I rely on shields more than most. the borg are the only enemy that has a chance of taking me down. So I've never understood the issue and desire to make them stronger - as compared to other enemies anyway.

Wait, what is this about Infected et al. getting changed?! (read: made significantly harder). In ISA you can indeed still die -- especially if your group kinda sucks. Voths and their annoying Deflection shield are dangerous, but it's a hazard which can easily be avoided. The Borg, however, are a force of nature. Even in the current RA, they have too little HP to pose a real, sustained threat, but even in those few seconds, a few spheres can really put the kaybash on you.
Also, ppl always profess to want a greater challenge, but when it actually comes... oh boy.
well, the game has moved on. all of the tfo are being made similar. getting rid of infected will complete the project. the backlash with infected will be severe, but it too will die down eventually. i personally don't do anything that requires systemic teamwork since i only pug. and this is fine. i'll just do patrols and other solo stuff. I think this is where the game is headed - combined with event tfo. the goal is to push us to random, event, and solo, and I accept it. such content is good enough for me. really I just do endeavors and events anyway.

There is nothing happening to Defera that we know of.
Yet.
As i understand on Tribble Defera is disabled.

hmm, that's sad news. But A Gathering Darkness will work as well.

Lol, "backlash will be severe" rofl oh my god, no, no it won't be.
huh?? something more than severe? it's the only mission people play and the mission used for how many years now to measure dps? it will be DR level severe.

I'm going to let this go since the arguments seem highly illogical.
No, I don't play infected much. I don't play random or regular TFO much anymore. Just do endeavors and events.
As I did point out earlier - the goal is to push us to random TFO, event TFO and solo. and I embrace that.
The backlash against DR was severe enough (6 months too late) to get a large change to enemy HP. I honestly believe the removal of infected will be more severe than that. I guess others disagree and I'm genuinely surprised to hear that. I have no horse in this race - don't care one bit to see it removed.

Don't a lot of the DPSers actually use Hive now?
I believe alot of the invites for the higher end channels do not use ISA as a measuring stick anymore. This is because since ISA is so easy to cheese or "spike" high numbers it isnt a true reflection of a higher end build anymore. Additionally, considering ISA has not changed at all over the years to match the power creep we have been getting.
If i am remembering right, alot of channels now require either HSA/HSE parses to qualify for the high end.
I saw in a tchat channel, comments about the removal of ISA, and most of them expected the end of the dps community and even the end of the game. In my opinion, this is just ridiculous, Dpsers don't spend their time in ISA (well, I hope), and if the new borg tfos are really interesting, everyone will be satisfied.
currently, the borg tfos are just a pain in the a.. , they are not interesting, boring and are done in few seconds.
Things must evolve, I just hope that the path taken will be the good one.
