Sorry you're frustrated OP, but this is not a PvP game and I would not expect any of your complaints to be addressed. Not being a jerk, just being honest and telling you what to expect.
For what it's worth, the PVE part of the game (99% of the game) is pretty fun.
I do not spend a dime of real money and nobody has been able to kill me in kerrat in 5 years, I don't even shoot back at them. I also make off meta builds, I actually posted one of my builds yesterday, for the KT Connie (acquired with EC and no real money).
Sry i dont believe you bc i spend a lot of time in kerrat too. I never saw someone who is invinceble.
Whats your @handle.. ?
OP, just do your best.
I'm not the greatest at PVP, so I still try and do my best when I do play PVP
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

I spend last hole year maybe 40€.. why not its a Hobby.. and i fly a free ship in PvP. Stange.. a single Escort can not kill me. NEVER EVER.
If you die in few sec in PvP you got mistakes in your Build if you like it or not. Thats a fact !
ppl having 2 mil dps, and cruisers having like 200k Hull and 75% resists and vaped in 1 second from scorts?
If this happen.. you messed up.
To be fair, properly built a "vaper" can severly diminish or remove a cruisers damage resistance in an attack run. However they need to be carrying the necessary weapons, skills, traits and BOFF abilities that counter damage resistance. A tactical captain abilities already have a few of these requirements.
These days, it is relatively easy to reduce a targets DR. However, without knowing the OP's build nor the captain who blew him out of the stars. I would be guessing at what stage it was the ship that attacks him's build quality or potentially the OP's bad build style or choices that might have contributed to the successful attack run he suffered.
But as you said, it is also possible the OP messed up when being attacked. Rule 1 in Ker'rat especially in a cruiser is always expect you are being stalked and hunted. Where possible keep certain BOFF abilities on a constant cycle and be prepared to react within a second. But also where possible dont tip your ships hand or capability before you are engaged.
It is a extremely fine line. But the best Ker'rat cruiser captains through this games history have shown we are anything but sheep waiting for the worf to gobble us up We have teeth of our own.
There is nothing wrong with a business caring about the bottom line. Cryptic isn't a charity, their employees need to make a living just like all of us.
If PvP doesn't generate revenue, it doesn't get supported. We can debate the merits all we want but it won't change anything.

Insulting others is not the way to get attention.
The more knowledgable players have stated variables that could be in play, and a couple even use non meta builds to survive.
The fact of the matter is PvP in STO is a free-for-all, and there are always going to be vape builds that can pretty much oneshot everyone because the game is balanced around PvE, which has mobs with higher HP values than Players. So a build that can take out endgame NPCs with ease will most certainly obliterate a player. Botting in PvP is kinda pointless because there are no headshots or anything. Its really just a combination of optimised use of abilities and gear. A proper vape build tries to get the most spike damage as possible in the first pass, thus preventing the target from being able to fight back. That sheer amount of damage comes at a cost though in terms of survivability, as most vape builds rely on the "it can't kill you if its already dead" defense. If they end up going against something that can survive their initial attack, they gotta scramble to get away before they get shot.
And for the record, I suck at PvP. I have decent PvE builds, but in PvP I get obliterated as well unless I'm facing an equivelent build where it really comes down to skill. I'm not ranting about it because personally I don't find PvP as fun. Others do.
Ranting and raving about it on the forums and attacking other players is only going to result in Moderator Action due to forum rules violations. Not a PvP Balance Pass.
