Hey just throwing a quick question out there. Have you seen the new unis for Star Trek: Picard ?? How soon will they be added to the STO universe????
No-one can say. The series isn't even out yet. Best guess is 6 months after release to allow for Cryptic to see what they can fit in once they have knowledge of everything that has gone on.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Literally not gonna happen until after the first season releases.

Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
Though it also depends on how much info CBS has given Cryptic about those uniforms (DSC was the first Star Trek series since the early 2000s so it shouldn't be thought of as odd for CBS to promote it as much as they could, also Starfleet had major role in DSC while they seem more of a backround player in Picard from what I can see).
Yeah, they need time to get the clipping just right before releasing it.

Well the only time Picard will be seen in a Starfleet uniform is the Short Trek Picard prequel which takes place 15 years before the Picard series starts and 5 years after Nemesis. He isn't rejoining Starfleet (straight from Patrick Stewart's mouth).
Yeah I meant in general in the series "Picard" not Jean-Luc Picard the character specifically. While we see what seems like the duty uniform for Starfleet we don't really see it in any detail in full body shots in the trailers, so if what's already released is the only Cryptic has to make the uniforms it might take a while before we see those in-game.
We must remember that basic starfleet DSC uniforms, were released to promote the series.
Well going by this photo they are going to be kinda like a mix between odyssey and the comic uniforms. From what I gathered from online opinion. So I imagine it wouldn't take to much work to get them into the game. Plus the badge seems to have that one oddessy badge look other then its on a platform. So I think it was inspired by Sto Uniform Badges. and maybe tng. Also there is a few other badge variants as well.
That picture is not accurate. It was speculation based on a blurry picture, you can get a better look in the trailer.
Not saying they are acurrate. But its gives us a possible basis of the uniform. I imagine we might know more when the comics come out. Since there is going to be comic releases and a novel tie in with the show. So it will gives us a better picture of the timeline. Then when the show comes on the air, we will get a better look at the uniforms. So I'd imagine they too inspiration from the kelvin comics and sto when it came to the uniforms plus the other shows that were on the air. When making them.
Why would the KT have anything to do with it? Everything from CBS and all tie ins are Prime timeline.
I think he means the comics set in the prime timeline released to tie in with the Kelvin timeline. That said IIRC the uniform in those comics is just the Sierra uniform from STO or is really heavily based on it.

Yeah that was what I was refering too. As the Kelvin comics did tell the story of what happened in the prime that led into the kelvin timeline with Nero's Back Story. So that is what I was talking about here.

It's not the same uniform any more than the TNG series 1-2 and 3-7 uniforms are the same one or the Cage and TOS uniforms are the same. They're very similar but not the same. Far right here, longer tunic fit, white piping on a tall collar, division cuffs, cloth not pleather, grey base not black, silver combadge, loose trousers etc.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

You missed "or really heavily based on it" part there did you? I would say that orginal TOS versus the first kelvin timeline uniforms would be a closer comparison here sure they're not 100% identical but one is clearly and obviously based on the other.
Also... Picard (show) doesn't seem to have that much of a Starfleet-focus. Seems more like Picard (character) will do another "insurrection" after he asked SF for help and they said "No. You're… kinda too old for this."
Point 2. At no point has Starfleet ever told anyone they were too old. This includes 137 year old Admiral Leonard H. McCoy seen in Encounter at Farpoint among many others.
Obvious jokes are obvious.
It's a serious joke though. Movie-Picard said something along the lines of 'we're getting too old for this' to Ru'afo in the showdown of Insurrection… because dumb-action-movie one-liners and Jean-Luc Picard go hand in hand.

No I didn't. They are no more based on the Countdown uniforms than any of the uniforms were based on the previous versions.
The KT uniforms predate the TOS ones by about a decade so can't even be based on a prototype due to the divergence.

To me it didn't read as a joke. It read more like yet another person judging a show without having seen it and making snide mean spirited comments.
If the trailer is any indication, the show might very well be underwhelming. If I had to bet, I'd say it will be a mixed bag, like Discovery. We'll see, and I won't try to judge it by trailers alone.

If the trailer is any indication, the show might very well be underwhelming. If I had to bet, I'd say it will be a mixed bag, like every other ST series and in fact, every other series in history. We'll see, and I won't try to judge it by trailers alone.
I've fixed that for you.

Well, the whole KT is more of a distortion of the timeline than it was a divergence. The Klingons alone wouldn't have changed so drastically, let alone Khan who predates KT by a couple centuries. Kirk was 36 when Checkov was 22 in the second season while Kirk in the KT was 25 with Checkov being around 18-20.
*sigh* At least (if it does come to be) Captain Pike and company will be the best thing out of the strange need to revise the past.

Thank you. I was kinda holding back there.
An alternate timeline that diverged from another is by definition a divergence. The *cause* for this particular timeline diverging was a distortion.
