The reward from the rep box was a console. A MINE console. Talking with others and it seems there are also various Engineering consoles as well. Now, since it's day one, rep level 0, this is hardly a way to gauge what else may be in the drop table for us to get, but I have to say I am rather pleased that it's not the same old "space or ground weapon" stuff like in most other reps. New consoles with new effects just give folks another way to make their builds unique. Kudos. Not that many WILL mind you, the cookie-cutter builds are popular because they work, but I don't walk that path so I look forward to seeing just what there is that may help me improve *MY* build.
Hearing about the length of the missions both intrigues and annoys me. The annoy part because I just don't seem to have the time to play "mark collection" on top of doing even one mission currently. The beauty is though that the missions will be there when I do have the time. I look forward to that day.
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
Edit: This may get me baned but I feel this had to be stated.
Seconded. The VO work from Rekha is above brilliant
Oh god... please, please, please... with sprinkles on top (hold the ice-bores please)
Yeah Landry sounded like she had just lost pretty much everything and everyone she knew, in the second mission, not mention the desperate "this isn't true" denial in her voice conserning Patel's fate.
Also speaking of nice voice acting I liked the andorian ensign's taunts towards the house Mo'kai warriors at the end.
These were Holographic Simulations, not Temporal Missions.

Secrets, the first mission in the Starfleet 25th century/KDF/Dominion story arc Age of Discovery, was released in October 2018. The most recent missions, The Plausibility of the Possible and the Impossibility of Reason.
A total of 7 missions released from October to May means about 1 new mission per month. Alongside, we also got 4 new (and one reskinned) Task Forces.
Do you remember any particular time where Cryptic released missions at a considerably higher sustained frequency?
Cryptic basically had 3 mission release cycles:
Once upon a time, there were the Featured Mission Arc, like the Breen/Deferi story arc or the Devidian story arc. Between these arcs, there was a lot of nothing, but during the arc, the missions were released weekly. They haven't done this a long time. (However, if you look at the missions, you might notice that many of them are shorter than the missions we have now.)
Then they have the expansion pack mission release. That is usually accompanied with a longer pause in new story content. New Romulus, Delta Rising, Age of Discovery, Operation Gamma were like that.
And then they have an around monthly release cycle, where every month or so you get a new mission. They did that after Delta Rising, when the Delta/Vaaddwaur arc finally culminated into the Iconian story arc.
If you look at the amount of missions that come out overall, it is fairly similar average. The missions tend to have gotten a bit more complex or involved (longer missions, more maps, better maps, voice overs), so they probably invest increased resources more in higher quality than just making more.

Because they are originally inteneded as the campaign missions for the DSC Starfleet faction. Everyone just happens to get to play them too for those not interested in starting a new toon to see them.
With all of these Holodeck simulations, I was almost expecting Will Riker and Diana Troi to pop up
The player character goes from ensign fresh out of the academy to acting captain to captain to fleet admiral in like... two years ? With the possibility to do all this using one single ship.

And ruin the Finale.

Ending to the game, it's revealed that you never really left the Holodeck on Graduation Day from the Academy. It's all been a Holodeck simulation.

True, though I would much rather they be temporal missions, the "holographic research" schtick wore thin long ago.
I can imagine the disappointment of the players characters after this revelation
"Cadet, your Holodeck privileges have been suspended."
The only annoying thing I found was that I was unable to make use of any T6 ships on a new DSC Toon after finishing the tut. I appreciate the restrictions placed on the fact you are playing in a specific era, but all those lovely T6 DSC skinned ships not being available until you get to ESD is a shame. I hope that's something that changes in the future/or something can be worked out regarding that. Strictly speaking not all new toons can make use of T6 ships once they have completed the tutorial. There are some caveats. I'm hoping ambassadorkael can maybe clarify that.
That being said, it's clear a lot of work has gone into this update and a lot of love too. The new missions are fantastic, and I enjoyed playing them - both as a new DSC toon, and with my other higher level characters.
I am loving this update, and I am looking forward to where this goes next :-)
Thank you Cryptic.
Since the DSC Number One does not display any of the augment stuff that the Cage version (barely) did I would guess they are ignoring the "civilized" augments too, though to be fair it was NBC who had a hissy fit over them (or at least Number One herself) first and pretty much knocked them out of canon, though back in the June Cleaver era it was probably mostly because of any strong female character and not just one who was actually stronger than the males.
