Kind of excited to see what new capabilities these new S31 vessels will bring to the table. Could serve as a template for any new warbirds once they're released. Might pick one or two up. Don't mind flying the ships of my vassals allies.

I'm rather interested in the Technology as opposed to the ships. Curious as to if that's only counting Ship Consoles or if we'll be getting some Kit Modules and ground gear as well. Could be a lot of things heading to the Lobi store soon.

Section 31 screams Intel spec. Unless we're getting a ne spec tree that is more Intel than Intel. What would that be anyways? Secret Agent 007?

Which kinda flies in the face of how an intel org would want to operate. You really don't want to "announce" your operational collection assets to a potential adversary. Still...I'm excited to see what they come up with.

If the recently released blog is to be belived it's not Section 31 ships (unless you want to roleplay as a S31 agent) but rather starfleet (and possibly by extension alliance) ships based on the 23c Section 31 ships.

But the blog kind leads us to getting S31 tech for sure. The fact they mentioned the AI, and the tractor anchors specifically.....could just be a nod to the show, but could be consoles available on ships?
Or heck, they could introduce a new class of ship altogether? Or a new skill and tree? The options are endless. S31 ships had a version of a cloak, were very intel focused, but far more agressive than the the "Intel" we have now. So maybe a "Subversion" skill or a "Insurgent"? Something more...idk...evil? than Intel?
You mean licensed to kill any and everything we see or interact with.

The Na’Qjej Intel Battlecruiser comes equipped with the Glorious Charge Universal Console. When activated, your starship engages in glorious combat with your target, significantly increasing your kinetic damage resistance and breaking their puny starship across your hull.
I guess it kinda makes sense considering there would be no Fed equivelent to a matched pair.

There was no lobi ship with the last one either. They probably don't have enough Disco source material, since "regular" faction ships are supposed to go C-Store.
I am actually interested if they come up with some hilarious excuse for why the Na’Qjej is more special than all the other Disco klingon ships to deserve to be in a lockbox, but in real life it's obvious they just had to put in something for KDF with the S31 ship Fedlocked.

Does this mean we need to begin a new faction or just keep playing with the Disco Captain we already created?
:: scratches head ::
The two Age of Discovery missions were set before the series. I don't see why we need to make new characters to play them. We can use our existing ones.

Well... since they've been having ships with matching capabilities in the C-Store... do you know of any Fed ship that specializes in ramming others? This way they don't have to have parity with the other ship. They can make something totally different.

yes, the bajoran interceptor - bajor is part of the federation, so that makes the ship federation too despite being a bajoran design - same way the atrox, caitian escort i don't know the name of and tellarite cruiser i don't know the name of are federation ships

I think there were at least two different types of Section 31 ships in Discovery. They don't seem to be particular insistent that "regular" faction ships always go into lockboxes. Why would the Discovery or TOS Constitution belong into it, they were regulars in their time.

The Temporal Light Cruiser is not a TOS constitution, it's a future ship made to look like a TOS constitution. But of course we know that's just an excuse for the real reason, that CBS ordered it be kept rare. The Crossfield and Sarcophagus I would presume are in the lockbox because they were made long before the Disco content started.

What's that got do with anything?
As I was saying, they planned the lockbox around the Section 31 ship. But because it's Fedlocked they needed something else to come out of it when a red player opens it, so they just picked whatever Disco-klingon ship we didn't have yet.

What's that? You say there is something unrealistic in a franchise built around faster than light ships with artificial gravity? Imagine that.
They could at least make it SLIGHTLY more plausible, but yeah...Space wizards and for kids.

Well, the first one is:
https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11157043-the-section-31-lock-box
Surprisingly, no Lobi ships.
The Section 31 ship is a Science Destroyer.
Together with the Cleave Ship apparently, as a Intel Battlecruiser.
Either it's an odd angle or it looks much shortened.
Does this mean we need to begin a new faction or just keep playing with the Disco Captain we already created?
