At first I was excited! I kept hoping there would be some actual game-play around this, that it would be related to some new feature, mission, or event. Alas, it was just flavor-text. A good read though. So thanks for that.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
A Romulan, a Sub-Faction person like Romulans. Your Jem'Hadar is a Sub-Faction person but Cryptic didn't bother to create a Sub-Faction Contact for you, so you are stuck with someone else's Sub-Faction Contact.

Welcome to the 25th Century, where seemingly EVERY time traveler ends up. It's like Grand Central Time Station here...
You are stuck here. This is your new identity. Learn it backwards and forward. If you don't, we will make you.
Keep your mouth shut about who you are and where you're from. If you don't, we will make you.
Don't muck with the time line unnecessarily. If you try, you will regret it.
Sensing a pattern here?
In conclusion, just pretend none of this ever happened and you're good.
Oh, and have fun.

Things I want in STO:
1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

That's not true... Kirk was up and down the time stream like catching a bus to work.

This has got me thinking too. If new dsc eps are getting retconned in between Secrets and Downfall then there has to be some explanation for toons who've already been time-napped. New arrivals can play on through, but for the rest of us, it's holodeck central - again. What there is is good as far as it goes, bugs notwithstanding, but it was released way too soon. They should have waited til they had enough missions that we'd not need the time yo-yo.
Maybe if they needed to get it out, an encounter with the Guardian of Forever and some missions in the TOS era (revamped contend I guess) just to make up content til the next batch were ready.
As it is we're all going to be heading back to the beginning and hoping we don't meet ourselves coming the other way. Or is that too close to Butterfly and Spectres/Temporal Ambassador?
great info except AoD toons can't do the lore on STA, what was the point of doing this season if there more are bugs with Aod characters than any other playable character before. would have been more happy if cryptic had taken a bit longer to test things for this season. this is the first time I felt a season was rushed.
UPDATE: relogged on my AoD character and was able to do lore, but still feel it was rushed.

Can they not? Admittedly I've not tried, but maybe I should now. Have you bug-repped it yet?
Funny, pity it isn't actually in-game. If they put half the fiction blog stories in-game... we'd have a better game I suspect. Almost wonder if this is to give in-game flavour for why STO's mission chronology is changing in real life? With people zipping about the time stream and wrecking havoc on causality, I can't imagine it's terribly stable.
It is starting to seem a little like if you are from 2409 then your kind of boring. The galaxy is full of time travellers while your just a standard red shirt ignorant of whats going on.
Would be nice if there was something unique for standard federation and klingon captains where they could be special in a way that all these temporal agents are.
It should go without saying that excessive use of temporal manipulation in this regard is a direct violation of the principles upon which Temporal Investigations has been founded. One cannot improve the stability of the timestreams by adding additional instability into the mix. Regardless of the intention or goal, the ends rarely (if ever) justify the means.
a direct reference from the blog.
It means daniels and his efforts, heck even the temporal accords he is out to protect are in violation of its own founding principles since it is attempting to stablise the timeline by adding additional instability into the timeline.
the temporal cold war is about competing faction in time that seek to destroy certain events in history for their own advantage while the other seeks to clean it all up. the whole thing is a massive additional instability... and it has goals and intentions.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I great common sense approach to explaining why toons can't revisit their old timelines. Even a certain 'Doctor' isn't allowed to cross his own timeline for very similar reasons, although he has on occasion broke this rule!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
Despite the blogs intent, now would be the opportunity to get a refurbed Captain's Table to be our bridge between timelines... It could once again be a relevant Lifetimer perk to help sell Lifetime accounts. Put all the alternate timeline equipment there. Update the NPC's and attach some alternate timeline missions. As an incentive.

We have been asking the DEVs to put this content in-game for years now without any response. It's true; it would make a better game experience if they did.
Honestly, I believe the reason nobody goes to the Captain's Table is because while it offers the same sevices as ESD or First City, to get there requires an extra map move after you're halfway to ESD/FC.
Go to Sol/Qo'noS>Go to ESD/FC
compared to:
Go to Sol/Qo'noS>Go to Aenigma Nebula>Go to Captain's Table
Additionally, when you warp into Sol or Qo'noS, the entrance to the nebula is BEHIND you, so it's not exactly going to catch people's attention.
All things considered, it's easier and more convenient to go to ESD/FC.
On top of all that, the idea of the Captain's Table (cross faction social zone with all the amenities of ESD/FC) is already freely accessible by everyone in-game: Deep Spsce 9.
Basically, there's nothing really special about the Captain's Table to make it worth going to, especially when you have to take extra time to turn around and add a map jump.
No, if they want to make the Captain's Table a viable option for LTS, they should consider some or all of the below as well as others.:
1) Instead of the visible nebula waiting in the faction systems that we have to fly to, make the Aenigma Nebula a Transwarp location.
2) A functional holodeck with a selection of combat scenarios for fun (no actual rewards... just the thrill of combat/blowing off steam).
3) Special items, like the ability to buy gear higher than white quality.
