Is this the same Admiral Sonia Hemphill that lobbied to mount a super weapon, that could take a side wall out in one shot, on a light cruiser stripping it of most conventional weapons in the process?

Good catch! Seems I need to read my Honorvese a little more closely.
I guess it's good, maybe got my hopes up with the Orca variant.
Bipedal mammal and senior Foundry author.
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Well, that's part of my theory scuppered! I thought the Cardenas Class would be the Battle cruiser. Looks like it might be the Cardenas Class for the cruiser then, I'm still guessing the Engle for Escort and Shepard for Science though
"Dozens of ships from the mid-23rd century were undergoing repair and refit when Yard 39 was hastily evacuated, and many of those ship classes fell out of favor in lieu of new construction. The chance to visit intact specimens of these ships, which include Shepard, Nimitz, Engle and more"
Europa is Nimitz class... so Shepard & Engle and more at a later date?
Yes! Thank you! I was really hoping we'd get a T6 DSC-era c-store ship for our upcoming DSC-era toons tomorrow and I'm so glad its the Nimitz class, its my favorite of the DSC line.
Nice designs!! Looks like the Reliant with nacelles on the strut though.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Command rather than Miracle Worker (or both)? *sigh* I'm just not into cruisers that much, but it is a pretty ship at least.
I didn't even notice the specialization. Yeah... I think the Crossfield I bought will be a better ship for my AoD captain. Extra Tac consoles and Intel seating should make up for one fewer weapon slot.

Looks like they really are trying to put a focus on her being a tank more than a DPS boat. Might be interesting to see what kinds of builds people come up with for that.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Looks like it's designed to be a tank.. in which case Command is actually pretty good.
The Two Tactical Consoles is.. curious to put it lightly and not really great. Overall, for a Tank PC there is really no reason to pick this up over an Engineering Odyssey or even a Yamato/Andromeda.
It looked attractive at first with 5 forward weapons and the ability to mount cannons but that console layout is sadly going to be a deal breaker.
That's funny, I was just thinking to myself, "Ya know, the Fed ships don't quite outnumber the other factions 20/1 yet, they sure could use more ships to fill in those non-existent gaps!", and whaddaya know, it's like Cryptic read my mind!

I almost sprayed coffee at the Honor Harrington reference in the original announcement
Lets hope the SIF invention does better than "Horrible" Hempill's grav lance. It does make me want to get the ship and fill it with energy torpedoes (not that I am likely to be able to afford any T6 ship any time soon). Seriously though it seems it would make a good engineer tanking ship, especially if they put miracle worker on one of the seats.
Was really reaaaally hoping for the Cardenas class with MW spec seats. The Europe will do for now or try and turn my miracle work ship to look as much as possible as the Cardenas think the 8472 shield might give me the black hull close enough to it?

LOL, I noticed right away... but then again, my first STO character was "Honor Harrington" ....

I might, someday, fly her for the trait. But as a "main" ship? Not with that console layout.

I feel like my "NEW" Galaxy Class is still kinda the same. At least compared to my Science Exotic/Torpedo builds. I am still working on it.

I read somewhere that what now is the space part of STO originally was a part of an Honorverse MMO. Also Nimitz Class...

Agreed. Though I wonder this season brings.
Sounds like my life, so far
