Thnks for the correction, Bort.. my new ships awaits!
just one thing about the raptor without the mission pod under the hull, it would be prettier and balanced, when watched to the side. no need to copy exactly the fed design.
it looks like a mix of everything my recommendation is to change the intel from universal officer too science this will open both ships up to either a pure weapons build or a heavy science & tactical build without making people sacrifice the defensive option of engineering for intel abilities.
How is taking away flexibility being helpful in anyway?
If you do this then people can longer mix Intel/Tac or Intel/Eng in that station. It makes the ship even less desirable as far as I can see as you take away survivability or direct damage potential in order to gain even more Sci on an escort that is already leaning to Sci.
It’s in my Wish List, I’m buying it. It’s a really weird thing with me I do not like the look of the galaxy class, but I love all the ships that of been made from parts of the galaxy class.
Only have 2 Fed and an AoY. My Primary Fed is a Sci using the Nebula & Galaxy-X skins (Minimalist Galaxy-X) at that, and her T-5u Fleet Ambassador. Oh I have all the galaxy variants and Andromeda, I put the Consoles on my Fleet Yamato. Will say I love the Sutherland added mission Pods.
So the New Orleans is a no brainer for me.
Even with my 9 KDF, I’ve purchased more T6 KDF ships than I can give fair attention too, but that Console could be fun on anything.
As for the people lamenting the lack of a Romulan ship, or Cardasian, or Jem’Hadar.
I expect we will see 2pks, and 3pks, and Singles still.
Sure we will even see odd ball 3pks like the Yamato/Kara/Kolasi, were 2 of the 3 could separate, while Kolasi had to Transform, but all got a Hanger.
I can see how it would be difficult to make a Romulan Ship with this three mission pod pattern to match the console. Though could image a Reman ship similar to the layout of the Reman Hathos.
Two pods on top, and one underside, Hathos/Scimtar like wings more Horizontal than swooping. Something like the Romulan Vet ship with Reman hull parts.
With my 3 Romulan Captains I have a half dozen T6 ships I love and only really use three.
I don’t see a faction occasionally being left out as a huge sleight of honor to the fan base.
Quality over Quantity.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Heavy Cruiser & a Movie Era Style AoY Utility Cruiser
I doubt that's the case. I think the reason is cost cutting since Fed/KDF and their allies can use two ships. I think this is the start of less ships being offered.
I'm kind of tired of tactical ships reserving one of the tactical console slots for the fleet version, I don't want to buy fleet ships for every one of my tactical toons just to get the last tactical console slot.
I am a bit confused what is this ship a science cruiser or an escort cruiser ??
It is more like a science heavy escort similar to the multi-vector advanced escort.
The multivector is not science heavy, it only has a ltcom sci boff seat and 3 science console slots. The Caitian Shikaris Escort for a better example is a sci heavy escort since it has 4 sci console slots, 1 ltcom sci boff seat, and a universal lieutenant boff seat which can be used for sci.
Maybe it doesn't matter if you follow builds or put a lot of effort into them, but my current experience in CC shows that pretty much every 8 weapon ship I have will place 3rd or 2nd at the end, while all my escorts and such with seven plus the experimental weapon slot will not win anything. Despite the extra tactical consoles and commander tac station.
I've gotten 3rd a few times with a Crossfield. But there's something else to consider on the scoring for CC. Its not just DPS that is counted. Its damage healed. Those cruisers have a lot more healing capability than an Escort, so they're racking up more points. Its how I got 1st on my Tac main who struggled to place at all. Just built a Kobali Heal Boat and hit everything every chance you get.
And it gets silly if you use an engi with the miracle repairs ability, plus the Radiant Nanite Cloud trait. Pop the Probability Manipulation, hit the Miracle Repairs, and/or hazard emitters. All those AOE heal ticks add up REAL fast.
With my tac main, I stuck him in the Martok Bortasqu', used stuff like Threatening Stance, Lone Wolf, the Strategist ability, and the space dorito ship console. Got my big crystal trophy that way. My rommy tact alt ended up getting 1st by flying in the T5 MU Ha'nom ship, with caustic plasma weapons.
Yesterday, we showed you your first look at the Recon Destroyer Bundle. Now, find out what the Lafayette and the Ketha Raptor will be able to do with you in command!
So, I just want you to know, I intercepted this transmission earlier today from the Romulan Republic, "What no ship for us?!? Maximum power to the singularity core, prepare to fire all weapons at Cryptic HQ!"
The page has had a lot of edits based on the comments here, so anyone that came earlier should re-check it. Things were changed to: 11 consoles on Fleet version, no raider flanking, 4000 Zen normal price 2-pack, etc.

With the Vor'cha being a Battlecruiser and the Nova being a science ship... kinda hard to bundle the two together.
I do admit I am wondering what's taking so long to get the iconic TNG era Klingon cruiser into T6. Maybe they're planning on doing another of the Wolf 359 fleet and will use it as a counterpart... I'm pretty sure the Niagra can be considered a cruiser. As for the Nova... hm... Would need a good science counterpart.
These look a lot like a morrigu light for the feds and KDF. I say morrigu light because it doesn't have a lt tact for that second APB 1...LTC engineer for EPtW 3 without using the uni slot for engineer...which makes the 4 sci console slots really meh...but it has a lot of the elements of it. Like say for instance the 14 turn, decent impulse and inertia to be able to boost it to fly like an escort pretty well. Oh and the none fleet version not having 5 tact consoles but only 4 as well. Less hull to boot...although more shield. Basically, a romulan ship with these stats would basically be overshadowed by the morrigu.
Still miffed at not getting a rom ship...but really if the rom version had the same stats, it would be redundant...so a bit less miffed. I may look at getting this bundle IF the release a rom/JHD duo bundle like this to make up for it...hopefully with a not redunant set up for the romulans. Because I honestly do like the new orleans and that raptor. But the whole mess with TRIBBLE basically being more feddie bear content costing a romulan ship make me want to just shut my wallet. So until I am less mad about it, wallet, closed.
Also seriously, if they were gonna do a two pack, they couldn't have done the damn T6 nova and vor'cha?!? Because if they did that, I wouldn't even been mad. It's about damn time those got made and there really isn't a romulan version of a it's about damn time ship, so like I would have been cool with that choice. Seriously, whoever you have in charge of what to spend dev time on needs to be smacked upside the head.
The BoFF layout is rather disappointing to me. It's configured in a way that it's just a little short of being able to do a good drake or A2B build. It either comes out just a little short on Engineering or a little short on Tactical. It would have worked better had the Intel hybrid been put on either the Science or Tactical.. the way it's set up right now I have to use it for Engineering and no matter what won't have the space for OSS.
I like a lot of the stats, but for the way I build I believe the bridge officer layout will make these ships a bad buy for me. Shame because I really like that New Orleans. Obviously, I could make something work, but I already have ships that do what I want to do better. Too bad.
Ok ... This is in between escort and cruiser, so why does she have the hull of an escort and NOT a destroyer? When the stats originally mentioned flanking it made more since. But with flanking removed, the hull needs to be bumped back up.
Recon Destroyer: (the new ship)
Hull Strength: 0.99 (29,700 at Level 40, 34,155 at Level 50, 39,600 at Level 60)

Well, maybe they gave it lower Hull as "payment" for the higher shield hardness from the console??? Though, not sure if shields will make up for having to heal hull like a raider. LOL!
I am surprised KDF got cloak AND the same shield modifier as the Feds.
You sure that isn't another mistake in the blog?
Whatever, I don't like the turn rate (who would after owning the Pilot Raptors), don't need that Admiralty card and sucky Starship trait (I ain't waiting for something to stack before triggering).
Art is beooootiful though. And I wanted to play with Intelligence Specialization. I am sure the visual on that console firing off will be.....humorous. It's too bad. Maybe on a ship sale down the road.

Hmm, the only information I had interest in was actually included in the blog, and the news is as bad as I figured it would be.
Not only will we likely see more of these "2 faction" bundles, but they are going to cost more than the previous 3 ship bundles. At least, on average.
T6 3 ship bundles cost 6000 Zen while the ships if bought individually cost 9000 Zen, so we save 33% when we bought the 3 ship bundle. Now with a 2 ship bundle, the cost is 5000 Zen where we'd pay 6000 Zen if we buy the ships separately. That's only a savings of roughly 16%. I expect that any "6 ship" bundles (3 ships for 2 factions) will also end up seeing an overall price increase.
So now, not only do 2 factions get ships while the other 2 don't (at least not right away), we pay more for getting less. Again, on average.
I get the feeling they will release these types of 2 faction bundles and if the ships are popular enough (i.e. enough people buy them) then maybe the other 2 factions will see variants of the ships. But, since it's only going to be 2 factions at a time, they can now also charge more.
I get that Cryptic is a business and they need to make money. I'm just not sure how much more I want to spend if the prices keep going up, especially if the actual amount of new things is less than it was previously.
Welcome to the cryptic way! Less effort and less value!
Don't even get a new experimental weapon...

Possible - but to be honest that isn't a great tradeoff since it 'forces' one into equipping the console, and some people prefer to build ships without special clicky-consoles.
What is the usual shield modifier? Is the shield modifier higher than "normal" for raptors? I have to look it up....as I don't memorize this stuff.
Lets see... all the shield modifiers on Raptors are below 1. So having this one come in with 1.2...that is higher, too.
Does shield hardness counteract shield penetration? You kinda get both with the console.
Though not sure if NPCs have shield pen at all...it may only be useful for PvP.

That hull really does look rather squishy compared to the other 'destroyer' ships in game.
Currently my main flies a Klein Temporal Destroyer and I'm not really seeing what this will do that the KTD doesn't.
I expected lower turn rate for what I assumed would be at the slightly more cruiser-esque end of the 'destroyer' classification, and I appreciate that this has a higher shield mod than the Klein even at C-Store level, but that hull really does seem low for the kind of ship this is supposed to be.
After finally paying a bit more attention to the stats for these ships, I have to agree with what a lot of the folks here are saying, these ships seem a bit too fragile.
I think perhaps amongst all the other mistakes that were originally made in the blog (a higher Zen cost for the 2 pack, giving the Raptor Raider Flanking, too many consoles) the Hull Strength is another one, but this one has slipped under the radar and hasn't been fixed yet.
At least, I hope that's what's happened.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
Not bad, but I do wish ships that have obvious mission pods like the New Orleans and the Nebula class would come in Tac/Eng/Sci variants like the multi mission ships or Odyssey class. Isn't that the whole point of mission pods?
Tac/Sci with Intel seating is not at all what I envisioned the New Orleans being. I figured it for Tac/Eng with Command seating, making it a prime little torpedo boat.
Still, I'm absolutely not complaining. Tac/Sci combinations are my preference and being Tac-focused rather than Sci will make a nice change from the Vesta my Lib Borg commands without having to respec her. Would have preferred zippy, bite-y little Pilot Nova, but this will do nicely in the meantime.
I'll probably buy the bundle just to continue supporting KDF ships but tbh my KDF toons are all pretty well settled into their ships as is. Something spectacularly gorgeous would have to come along to convince me to put any of them in anything else, particularly where Escorts are concerned - I've noticed most of my characters have ended up in Escorts and I'm making a conscious decision to move a few of them away from that.
