Funny dialog from Fed'Hadar perspective.

(let's try this again...)

On my Fed'Hadar toon...

This seems funny when that is not at all what happened. I have no idea what you're talking about, Jarok.

No dialogue in any of the pre-Gamma missions was changed to reflect you playing as a Jem'hadar character. You are a Fed/Klingon character and get treated as such. It's particularly weird in the Cardassian story arc when you're being told what the Jem'hadar are and what Ketracel White is. You're even destroying a Ketracel White factory. All the juicy White, gone forever... it's a tragedy... :'(

Yes, I know, no dialogs were changed. That's why it's funny. ;)

    Right? Hilarious.
I'd like to think the Fed'Hadar player was given some white the factory blew up. >;)
That's my revised canon and I'm stickin' to it.

Well can't expect all the npcs to know the truth about you. After all you do arrive at end game. She might not know you are a Fed'hadar and why would she? To her you are just another Federation Lacky. Doing Lacky things for the Federation. She might not even know your Jem Hadar. It could be after all a Holodeck program!

Not to mention the fact that you actually attack a Founder. Twice.

I just treat it all as a holodeck simulation, to get my character up to speed on what's happened in the Federation and Empire up until the Alliance and Dominion allied together against the Hur'q.

A holodeck simulation. Right. I like that.

I haven't played my Gamma Recruit that far (played the new episodes on my Fed main first), but don't the old missions have the 'mission simulator' contact in the Episodes menu (like previously completed missions do for other characters)? That would literally make it a (most likely holodeck) simulation.

Well... to be fair... that Founder did attack first, so it could be viewed as Self Defense. B)

nope. But still you leave the gamma quadrant as lvl65 jem with all quest finished there. Founders are liars, your life is a lie. Only Odo has respect for you. Of course my jem didn't have problem blowing up white factory or killing changelings.

Well, the giver -is- a mission simulator, so...

I am pretty sure all old content you get to play is supposed to be a Holodeck Simulation. Otherwise it simply cannot make sense!

It would be nice if they actually explicited say that before the missions get unlocked.

It's a simulation. The jem'hadar storyline begins at the end of the tzenkethi arc.

they should of just made it so that all the previous episodes are nothing more than holo training sessions based on Fed/KDF experiences... so the JHD can play both sides regardless of faction chosen...

The 'holodeck simulation' explanation has a plot hole of its own; how do you do a simulation of the Temporal missions? Those would either be classified or never even part of recorded history.

That's how I'm head cannoning all of it. My jem is just playing through holodeck simulations of recent federation missions.

The best moment for me was Vorgon Conclusions, in which my Dominion carrier blasts its way through the Breen attack on Earth, and a Jem’hadar strike team beams down into Starfleet Command and saves some starfleet officers. Their response?

“Oh thank God, you’re not Breen.”
  • markhawkmanmarkhawkman Member Posts: 35,236 Arc User
well, I mean... they're not wrong... although in the context it's easy to imagine a team of Jem'hadar as the greater of two evils.

The Breen attack on Earth was during the Dominion War, though.

Same as doing the 23rd century Drozana missions with klingons or romulans, really. Except of course, they don't even have a hint of "holodeck simulation" going on, unlike the jemmies.

Hint for people who are unable to ignore such interactions: Put your inappropriate captain/boffs in time-appropriate Federation EV suits, then they can't see you're the wrong race.

Honestly even before Jem’hadar that one felt odd. A random Romulan or Klingon walks into starfleet HQ and ask to see their super secret vault of goodies and get taken there no questions asked. That part definitely feels like you were supposed to be disguised.

Also for more hilarious moments: On the Galorndon Core mission, despite being disguised as a Romulan bird of prey, I still had my two super futuristic escorts with me.

And I do understand these missions weren’t designed with JH or their mechanics in mind, but they’re still pretty funny.

I came up with a better idea. :p I had my KDF away team dress in period correct attire. :D

That mission's also a bit funny the other way around. You could be playing it as an actual romulan with actual romulan boffs dressed in actual period uniforms and flying an actual T'liss...and still be inexplicably busted by Temporal Dude for using "holographic disguises." :D

That alone should make them shut down. Can't follow either set of orders, can't disobey. They aren't just indoctrinated, they're programmed with protocols they cannot ignore. Fatal paradox, system crash. They'd lock up, catatonic as their programming loops in contradictory cycles. The founders themselves would have to break the loop by belaying the conflicting orders and giving them something to do that they can actually proceed on.
Kar'ukan & co disagree. For all their inbuilt fanaticisim, they are still people with free will, for better or for worse.

I chuckled when, during Time & Tide, my Fed'Hadar was getting all the "peace loving hippy" commentary, and my head was going "you know, I'm from one of the most destructive races in the Galaxy and my body count puts Admiral Kills'Em'All to shame."

This is why everyone was saying J'H belong to the KDF and KDF only - at least there you are recognized as the cold blooded killer you're engineered to be...
