There are way to many bugged out NPC's in Quarks, they arnt even static, they are madly pacing back and fourth. Delete every single one please, this kills the bars atmosphere and utterly ruins it as an RP zone...

It's much worse at the bank/exchange, where you have like a great many NPC's, all crowded, inside some elipse shaped 'containment field.'

There are less in the bar after today's patch compared to yesterday.
But they are acting rather bizarre getting stuck in a parade back and forth like they are.

Today I tried to stand in the middle of them to see if they would quit. I got a couple to stop in their tracks for a few...but the rest just kept going..eventually bumping into the stopped ones to unstick them from their spot.

They should have like maybe two NPCs total. It's for players to be in, not watch lifeless bots wander brokenly.

I do not understand why their track is stuck in such a small area like that.

Why too busy - In the DS9 show the bar was always packed. It adds realism (when moving around right) with a lot of NPC's around.

Because it should he busy with players, NPC's add nothing but clutter and annoyance. Leave the vendors and named ones, delete the rest.

Yeah, I hope they get that path the NPC's stuck in, fixed. Because it would look better if there were more people milling around like in a real bar. Maybe if a couple of the NPCs would stop at the bar then head to a table...rather than walking back and forth right in front of the bar in tight formation.

I think what is happening is they are coming in from outside and not able to get back out because they keep running into each other. I see that the NPCs do this in other rooms on DS9. There just isn't enough space in Quark's bar or the Exchange room to turn around and go back out.

It's especially bad at the bank/exchange. It looks real annoying.

I think they might have wanted to reproduce the crowded feeling you can have on DS9. When you watch the show, there are often a lot of people around, especially during arrivals.

So it gives realism a boost, as long as the AIs are not stuck in silly loops though...

What's wrong with it? That's just a celebration event, they are doing a future dance and celebrate the new station. RPing is about adapting, just join the dance and pretend to have a party. It's a living, breathing realm and you are part of it! Sure, some trends are annoying but you have to deal with it. In 2410 DS9 that's the latest thing.

Indeed. On average there are 2,000 people online in STO - Not enough to fill up DS9, all of the time.
Making DS9 player filled 'd give it again, that kind of a dull, empty look. Which the whole of DS9, a pivotal spot in the Star Trek story arc, really isn't. There is something which should be avoided - Perhaps a solution lies in removing some NPC's, and if possible, upgrade their behavioural routines somewhat.

If only we had Miles O'Brien together with Rom walking around, on the station. ^^
