I look forward to all the new Gamma stuff, but also wanted to say thank you for these:
    • Standard episode cooldowns changing to 10s (down from 20m).
    • Bank at KDF Shipyard. Now if you could add Mail and Exchange there, too, please. :)
    • Love what you've done with the 800 Day Vet Reward. No slot or DOff, and nigh-immediate processing. Excellent!

You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

"Resolved an issue which made it so players could not always skip to higher story arcs even when at the appropriate level."

Thank god for this, I just hope this fix affects the future proof arc.

Good going Cryptic & thank you for: "All accounts will receive 1 free additional character slot to make a new Jem’Hadar Captain."

I'll try to avoid recruitment burnout, but excellent on: "For a limited time between June 5 and July 18, there will be a Jem’Hadar recruit event where all Jem’Hadar captains created during this time will be able to unlock rewards for the player’s entire account by completing various tasks."

Hopefully there are new innovations involved to keep us on our toes instead of just a fresh paint job for: Gamma Quadrant Battlezone & The Swarm Space Queue.

I've seen Tribble testers chatting about Gamma Task Force Reputation items performing is lackluster, but if I remember correctly either a livestream or a blog this Gamma reputation is the first to allow re-engineering of the earned items so I'm holding out hope. Most of the other Reputation Systems' items are out classed by today's standards especially given the cost & effort.

Cryptic didn't have to do this: "Every character which is level 60 will receive 1 Specialization point to make up for any progress that may have been made beyond level 60." So it is very kind & generous of them to do so. Nicely done, Cryptic. But to be fair, then why won't you do an automatic bump up in tier for all the former normal subscribing players that you screwed when ceasing the subscription model???

"The Cardassians Species is a purchase in the C-Store and is also part of the Gamma Vanguard Pack." Excellent to have the option besides the big Gamma Pack. Besides I want to know what all their, & the Pay'Hadar, traits are before I buy.

Holy smokes, well done again, Cryptic, on: "Standard episodes in the Episode Journal no longer have a cooldown of 30 minutes to replay. The cooldown is now 10 seconds." That was totally unexpected & a lot more than I would've ever imagined Cryptic would condense the cooldown time.

"Bank consoles have been added to the Klingon Defense Force Shipyard." This is long overdue, as KDF fleets should have all the same similar functions as a Federation fleet.

I'm curious about why on this one: "Slipstream Drive now cannot be canceled for the first 5 seconds after activating it."

I'm BOOOing this one: "Resolved an issue that caused the Inertia modifier on Impulse Engines to increase inertia by 10%, instead of 10."

Nice rewards for leveling 61-65 & they seem they'll be helpful.

Most importantly, well done, Cryptic, on the newly redone DS9!!!

Also, I'm prepared for an extended patch time & some extra maintenance patches throughout the week. We might get frustrated at you, Cryptic, but we know you are trying. You are trying right?

This is a buff, especially for big slow ships. Even the attack fighter small craft only have 100 base Inertia Rating. For a Scimitar, which has only 20 Inertia Rating, the [Inertia] modifier goes from giving +2 Inertia to +10, a whole +50% to its acceleration rate.

There was feedback about how frustrating it is when you accidentally double-click Slipstream and it cancels immediately after starting - this prevents that from happening, while still allowing you to turn it off early should you want to.

We will be having a maintenance tomorrow, 4/28 at 7AM Pacific for 2.5 hours.

Maintenance 4/28 ? Don't you mean 6/5. Plus it should be at 6AM Pacific as both the what time is it for me and game launcher both say 6AM. Downtime is also 3.5 hours not the indicated 2.5

The cooldown is now 10 seconds.

Resolved an issue which made it so players could not always skip to higher story arcs even when at the appropriate level.

Bank consoles have been added to the Klingon Defense Force Shipyard.
    These are all great, thanks.

Downtime for patching-in an expansion even 3.5 hours is not biggie. I remember downtimes, when I could not log in for 5 and more hours...

Added the following to "known issues":

    Storm Clouds Gather:
In teams, it’s possible to get into a state where the pillar in the Ore Processing room will not rotate correctly which will block progress.
A defeated player will always respawn on the bottom floor of the Ore Processing Room which will require the player to do the pillar and walkway puzzle again to get to get back to higher levels.

Best QoL change in the patch.

Though the whole DS9 revamp also includes some great ones - like having the Exchange/Bank and Shipyard stuff now in direct proximity now.

o'brien mode: i think completion time of 3.5 hours is a little optimistic in recalling past updates that are this big! LOL.

note having been to the test server, the 4 missions they put there were actually pretty good, so is ds9. wow.

Passing on a Jemmy. I want to be able to build my toons from scratch, not have them delivered Pre-Made and freshly vacuum sealed.

I might be able to incorporate ViL's storyline into my "alternate STO" storyline.

Thank you for the bank console in the KDF Shipyard! This is one of the best quality of life improvements added to STO in quite some time.

With the known issues though. It would seem that this content was not ready for release and should have been held back a couple of weeks to fix the issues.

This may not be the exact place to put this, but it does involve the patch today so, here we go.

What is the point of pre-patching and/or keeping Tribble up to date when the time to actually update the game neither of these two options actually WORK!?

I spent the time and bandwidth pre-patching and making sure I kept Tribble updated as well so that when the server came back up today for patching, I would have everything needed. Turns out, I get to download the entire 9.7 gb patch again! As a result, I doubt I'll be playing at all today.

Not sure why I even bother pre-patching though, it hasn't worked for me since Legacy of Romulus. Keeping Tribble updated had worked for me up until season 14 and then it stopped working when 14.5 launched. So blasted frustrating to spend all that time and bandwidth and get squat in return. I have a fairly slow internet speed, so I guess the reason I keep pre-patching is in the hope that "This time it'll work."

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me a few dozen times, WTF, am I brain dead?

Ah okay, well that is certainly understandable, thanks for the explanation. I was just curious & figured there had to be a reason.

Resolved an issue which made it so players could not always skip to higher story arcs even when at the appropriate level.

It would have been great if this had been done before I played a whole arc just to get to an episode that I'm interested in... but good to see this change finally being made nevertheless.

It should make levelling a new character and getting gear from episodes a bit less tedious.

Well, my patch today is 5444mb, so my prepatch worked.

Good fixes out there and can't wait to see the new DS9.
Now a LTS and loving it.

On patch days. that usually means the Holodeck Shard is offline for updating but the patch and account servers are still online.
