I've been reading alot of these disscussion threads and feel that some people don't appreciate all the hard work, time and effort spent by all
of the STO developers. So let's show some love right here and give them somthing positive to spur them onwards.
Thank you for all the continued hard work and passion you all give, to bring us the best and closest thing we will ever come to being real Starfleet Captains.
I know there are bugs in game, but hey, what game doesn't from time to time when constantly updated?
I'm in for the long haul and enioying every second!
I'm still here after many, many years, and I have the Dev's backs on most things. You are spot on that there are a number of people who point blank refuse to give the Dev's credit. Comments like 'they should drop all development to work on bugs' et all just aren't helpful because the guys responsible number only a few anyway, add to that the lack of info players give when they report a bug.
To say this game has been going 8 years, is Free to play, isn't Pay to Win, has elements that are now canon and has a Dev team a tenth that of Blizzard goes someway to show exactly what an amazing thing the team have done!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Been here since season 7, while the devs have made mistakes, they have kept the game going so I'll take my flat cap off to them

Thomas "The Cat" Marrone, he's done some stunning work on the ships.

It's hard to put into words what STO and the devs work has meant to me. The Foundry especially is an amazing labor of love and the devs who have volunteered their time to the community have made such an incredible shared experience. The whole game's been a fixture of fun and creativity for me through some pretty difficult years and I know I'm not alone in that too. We appreciate everything the devs do across STO, it goes beyond simply making a game.

So, do I get free stuff if I suck up to the developers ?
Who cares, I might complain about some bugs every now and then but I wouldn't still be playing this game or be an LTS if I didn't think the Devs were doing a great job in keeping STO a great, and fun, game.
Been here as a daily player since Season Six. Not going anywhere for awhile either.
I am amused by how many people think the Dev team, as well as all of Cryptic, should be flawlessly perfect 100% of the time. Because people conveniently forget the Devs are human.
Do I get aggravated with this game once in awhile? Yep, sure do. Do I like all of the choices the Devs make regarding this game? Nope, sure don't. But in fairness, I have to say the game does provide me with my daily Star Trek fix. Which I am deeply appreciative of. Moreso because I do not have to spend any money unless I choose to. And not spending money does not reduce the game to a sample version while fishing for my wallet as hard as it can.
So thank you, Dev team, for what you do. You get it right far more often than you are given credit for. Your mistakes are blown out of proportion by a tiny percentage who substitute volume and temper tantrums for intelligent discourse. Keep rolling on and I'll keep beaming in to wander around the Enterprise 'with nae bloody A, B, C, or D.' that six year old boy was completely captured by all those years ago. He thinks you're doing a great job. And as long as he's happy, I can keep playing this game.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.

Are you sure about that?! Because, honestly, it's been a while that I've seen major threads about bugs. For the most part -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- the game appears to be working pretty well.

For one part there is noting wrong with identifying unknown bugs in the forums, however reporting a bug does not necessarily mean it will be prioritized, they judge what is critical and what is not and that is their perogative.
That being said, there is noting wrong with taking two minutes to say thank you to a team that really works hard everyday to ensure that we get the best Star Trek experience we can. It would be ludicrous to believe one would get an in-game reward for doing so.The Devs can't do everything, but they are doing their best.

Well... bugs are a fact of life in an MMO. NO MMO is Bug free because its an ever evolving creature. What I like is the fact that we have a very frequent, regular patch schedule.

the other thing is people kick cry and scream and have even called out devs, and most of the time those called out don't have anything to do with the complaint. if your phaser isn't showing up when you fire, crying at Taco is useless, he's an artist not a coder...

As someone who has been here since beta I know full well this game has it's share of issues. But there's a reason I've been here that long, and it's because at the end of the day the good far outweighs the flaws. Thank you to the people who make it all possible, and have provided me with many hours of fun over the past decade of my life.
One of the things I appreciate the most is that the devs actually listen when people give them feedback (kind or otherwise).
When Sompek became a 3 week event with a character unlock item after being weekend only account unlocks, people gave them a LOT of feedback. Next time it came around? Weekend long, account unlock. Heck, every event seems to be going the way of account unlock, which is honestly incredible and very kind of them after all this time.
It's a given to appreciate hard work and effort, but it's something else entirely to actually listen to the community you develop for. That's admirable.

Definitely, same with JamzJam, there is also a third ship designer but i cannot think of their name.

Ohh.. and how about passing it along, we need a pangalalctic gargle blaster as well.
