I wanted to say that I appreciate the efforts the devs put into this game to make sure things run smoothly. I can only imagine how hard that can be at times, especially around an expansion release with the challenges that come then.
But, to me, the fact that you guys are keeping Star Trek going in a playable way means alot to me. Sure, I may complain about some bugs that irritate me, but let it be known that I really like this game.
Also, on a side note, to the particular person or team that works on interiors, you guys rock. I would like to ask where one can submit ideas for interiors, though, be it new interiors or added functions with the interiors in general?
Jolan tru! (Romulan for life)
Great thread, OP! And I agree, we should value the devs' work much more. Thanks for all your efforts to make the game (Foundry especially) so enjoyable! Really can't wait to see what you have cooked up for us in ViL
Late to the thread, but, there are many positive things I can say about what the devs have done.
Its hard to argue they don't love what their doing, for one. Look at the care and detail certain things have had over the course of the years. Whether its pulling obscure lore to flesh out the Klingon and Romulan factions, building canon maps that are extremely faithful to the sets, or just designing something new that fits into the world of Star Trek.
Beyond that, I wonder how many of them ever thought that STO would reach 8+ years and 4 expansions. STO started roughly, very roughly, and they turned it around. Even in the dark moments of STO, I've never thought it was anything but bad decisions at that moment, something we're all guilty of. Dev team is human, and humans are flawed. And those flawed moments are always juxtaposed by beautiful moments of excellence they've done.
STO has given me years of fantastic adventure and I'm indebted for that. Even when the servers finally go offline, STO will be part of who I am, and that's really the greatest legacy the dev team have given me and many others.
Nine out of ten times STO is absolutely phenomenal and I greatly appreciate what its done. And while I may get critical or even upset about the tenth time, it definitely does not invalidate the nine others when everything goes right.
The team that makes the ship designs do a great job.
Honestly, sometimes I am surprised how good the ship models in this game look. When you consider what they have done with such an old engine it really is amazing. If you're able to play the game on the absolute max settings and zoom in to look at the fine detail on some of the ships they just look incredible.
The team that's doing the revamp of DS9 is also doing a top notch job. The graphics team really does a lot with what they are given and that's to be commended. It can't be easy squeezing that much out of an engine that's over 8 years old.

and i'll echo all the praise for tacofangs and thomas the cat - those are pretty much the only devs left that manage to consistently hit a winner, along with that melange guy, but i don't see him too often
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

I joined in December 2013. Didn't think I would still be here 5 years later, but the featured episodes, the winter and summer events, and the foundry have insured that I can always enjoy new experiences. To say that I appreciate what the devs have accomplished with this game would be an understatement.

Yes. I suppose I could have said liberated former slave girls, or just Orion women, but most people call them slave girls no matter what their standing in life. Good point though
I remember seeing a topic thanking the developers for their hard work, I couldn't find it.. So feel free to merge this topic!
What always makes me sad is how much hate the general developers and Perfect World Entertainment gets. Players always complain and they always say that the developers and PWE sucks, and that they do not care etc.
I can only imagine what it must be like if the developers and community people see all this hate? I see a few Cryptic Developers on the forums and I know Ambassador Kael has to deal with a lot of... Bashing.
But the support team on Star Trek Online is actually quite amazing and Perfect World Entertainment does deserve a hat off for the support they do give.
My recent experience was amazing, this is the second time.. I somehow, deleted the wrong character. I was going to delete a level 2 character I never used to free up slots.. But I somehow, since my brain was off.. Deleted one of my main characters.... Yeah, level 60.. Crafted gear, reputations, tier 6 fleet ship, bridge officers, rare items... POOF. Gone. Just like that.
I sent a ticket asking Perfect World Support if they could restore my character, I've done this once before and they managed to do it.. Though it took 2 weeks.
This time, Support replied within 12 hours.. Asking for some more information, and within another 10 hours.. My level 60 character was restored from deletion!
Thank you Perfect World Support and thank you Specialist Game Master Retribution! You guys are the best!
I hope others who have positive stories and feedback with Perfect World Support to share their love, so that they have something to read on the forums besides all the angry people ranting!

To Tacofangs… Great Master of Tacos and Fangs, to Thomas The Cat, to Mauricio Ortiz (He is incredible, also shares my name and all Mauricio's are awesome), to Kael (not a dev, but still), and so many more, Tiffany, Jeremy, and please forgive me as some names scapes from my mind, but i love your work guys, i'm here from launch, and i'll be here to the second star and strait to the morning!
So thank you for your hard work, for your inspiration, and to keep us with daily Trek, and to be real fans!, thanks!, keep up the great work!
I've always been pleased with the efforts from the team, and Jesse has now been involved with at least 2 games I love which are STO ofc and Fallout. I come and go as other games catch my interest but the work this team does makes me always want to come play again and it's always good. I look forward to building a new computer sometime in the somewhat nearish future so that I can crank all my settings up from low and fully enjoy the work that the artists put forth. For a ftp game it's incredible, I have never regretted my LTS and have on a number of occasions recommended it to those on the fence via a number of the social platforms available to us. The fact that a small team can put out such great work and regular patches impresses me, and I am certainly looking forward to what they have in store for us down the road with ViL and beyond.
Been playing since the start and still going strong, so I guess thanking them for a job well done is definitely in order! Job well done! Took a bit of time off to play SWTOR and Elder Scrolls Online, but ditched them to continue on my voyages in Star Trek. Looking forward to the new expansion and must say the new DS9 looks amazing! Keep up the good work!
Or whoever decided to run a phoenix prize pack event. The only Dilithium I had available was from my monthly stipend and I could only get 32 packs. On my tenth pack I got an Epic Token my first epic token and with it I got 2x Ultra rare and I'm now able to give my upcoming Jem'Hadar Character a T6 JHDC with Frigate pets. Thanks so much for running this phoenix prize pack event.
I been playing STO since 2011. It was a God send when I discovered this game. I was out of the military, going through treatment for my injury at the veterans affairs. This game got me through so much of the hard times. My doctor used to tell me after I’d see him, to go home, and play some Star Trek. This game is one of my biggest forms of self care. I remember writing on this forum a while back about whether the devs would make the gamma quadrant, so we can finally go into the wormhole, and it’s here! DS9 is my all time favorite of all the Star Trek series, so thank you very much for your hard work into this game, as well as the new expansion. I truly appreciate it!
@baddmoonrizin Please merge this thread with that other Dev appreciation thread.
- Raneson
What other thread? As far as I know, this is the only thread I made and I checked there were no others prior. If someone has copied this idea then i'm not interested in a merger.
Victory is life is fantastic! I would also like to say thanks for the backtracking and adding of the new models and voice work in previous missions, such as; "Surface Tension", where Grand Nagus Rom and Garak now appear.
This is going to call for another full mission pilgrimage!
I am enjoying the hell out of this one! They did a great job imo. People are saying it's hardly any content but I say to those people that they basically rushed through all of the dialogue. I love love love the story! It's filled with intrigue and drama the good kind! Built upon the actual skills attitudes and relationships of the characters in DS9. I had not heard much about who would be returning to voice their characters but I was so glad to know that so many had returned that were familiar because it just wouldn't have been the same!
Thank you to the devs and thank you to the cast for taking the time out of their busy schedules to do this right!
After failures such as Star Trek Discovery, It's so nice to come back to content that's true to the spirit of Star Trek and Gene Roddenberry's spirit! Thank you so much!
I've been reading alot of these disscussion threads and feel that some people don't appreciate all the hard work, time and effort spent by all
of the STO developers. .
Well TRIBBLE them, i have loved every part of the exp so far, it does help that DS9 is one of my favorite treks and the search was such a ds9 episode quality telling and the voice actors have done amazing work still putting their heart into the characters.
I just hope we get much more of Garak is he so my favorite character.

I really appreciated the high quality ViL episodes. The cast that was brought in did amazing. Also, I appreciate that the episodes don't have more than one unique item as a reward.

More Orion liberated slave girls please....
