Why did you fill us with false hopes about Ferenginar and a Ferengi Faction???

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
This is a picture of my Toon Getz and his gang of Ferengi cohorts and his Gorn bodyguard Slag. https://imgur.com/PLkTxpL

You created the Ferengi Admiralty Missions. Why? Honestly at this point, whatever your diabolical purpose, I have no idea...
You load us down with millions of latnium. While profit is it's own reward (RoA #41), that is latnium we were expecting to throw away on tongo, Oomax, and buying things in shops on our home world.
We have all the gear, ships, and outfits.
We have the planet and know how it should look.
Here you have the chance to make a new world and some not so combat crazy missions but no. NO! You want the stupid dominion.

    Since they are giving us a DS9 expansion perhaps they are going to give latinum a better use during it.

    I've never seen or heard anything to suggest a ferengi faction ... you can already play ferengi anyway if you make a fed ferengi Captain, use only ferengi boffs, and get one of the ferengi lockbox ships.

    No, we don't. We have 2-3 ships, 1 weapon and all actual Ferengi outfits, are for our captains only. With the exception of the energy whip we have zero Ferengi weapons. We have zero Ferengi outfits that a whole away team can wear and the only ships we have are either event, lock box or a result of a giveaway.

    If they have given us more accessible ships, outfits a whole crew can wear and a full set of ground weapons/armor,... then maybe.

    I think you've just been reading too much between the lines, OP.

    If anything, the idea of a *Cardassian* faction has been hinted at and discussed at length in the past... But Ferengi?? Nope. Never heard of that.

    I've suggested a Ferengi faction in the past. It could still happen eventually.

    Not to belabor a point already firmly driven into the ground, but nobody has ever even mentioned a Ferengi faction. Frankly, it wouldn't make much sense from an MMO perspective - about the only Ferengi-specific mission type would be what you can already do at the Exchange.

    Hunh? Ferengi faction?

    Where did this come from? I have played this game almost daily since 2012. I lurk in these forums almost daily as well. Along with checking r/sto on Reddit. I cannot recall anyone at Cryptic ever saying there might be a Ferengi faction.

    I do recall and can find posts from people asking for Cardassians from the day I first logged in. I can also recall and find posts from people asking for an Imperial Romulan or Tal Shiar faction from the second after Legacy of Romulus was announced.

    But this, this is the first time I have ever seen anyone asking about a Ferengi faction. And from the tone of the OP, I'm thinking "Obvious troll is obvious"

    Aren't jokes supposed to be, funny? I mean the idea behind a humourous post ought to be seeable.

    I see Earth humour is a little different to Ferenginar humour, you see on Earth jokes are supposed to be funny

    In all seriousness... the Ferengi should have their own faction.

    It should be the actual Other faction. No aligning with the hyoo-mäns or the dim targ lovers

    Really its about time Cryptic adds a real Ferengi/Merc faction.

    Such a faction should feature Races that align mainly neutral. Ferngi Naussican ect. Allow them to fly a Selection of older ships from either faction + a handful of new Merc / Ferengi type ships that would be logically up for the right price in gold pressed latinum.

    You all know in game episodes that played out like The Magnificent Ferengi (the best trek episode ever!) would be fantastic. Who knows perhaps they could even convince Iggy Pop to drop in and voice a version of Yelgrun the coolest vorta.

    I have seen the requests for it. Usually its a part of the same request for a merc or independent faction. but it has been made. Devs have NEVER that I recall said anything one way or the other though.

    Since they added Fereginar to the map of the Alpha quadrant. as for the faction, it hasn't been implied.
