AoY Event 2018

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Will there be another AoY Event for 2018 or was it only a one time event?

    The Agents of Yesterday expansion was a 50th anniversary thing. By definition, it can only happen once.

    2018 will be the Victory Is Life expansion (or whatever name they settle on).

    oh ok. just sucks that I can't get all the traits and stuff and extra stuff that was available for it. I started STO like 2 weeks after it ended. thanks for the comments.

    We MAY get another recruitment event like we had with Delta Rising and Agents though. So far the track record for recruitment events is spot on with expansions.

    Was wondering if cryptic would ever do a one time temporal agents weekend. I missed out on AoY temporal agent event and would love to be able to get an opportunity to get the rewards. What do you guys think. I'm sure there are other players out there who missed one or both of the events.

    Highly unlikely. The only real chance of a re-run is on Console for the Delta Recruit, as they never had this.

    why not ,it would bring in new players. every 3months one of the old recr. options would be nice. i know many, for example missed out on delta kdfs and roms !!

    This question pops up very often here and in the STO Reddit forums.

    The simple answer is no. If Cryptic were to do another recruitment event it would only before the most recent / current expansion. The next expansion is coming this summer (no exact date yet), if there will be a recruitment event, then it would be a new one related to that expansion.

    Actually, the rewards for the Temporal recruit are better than Delta recruit overall. which makes me wonder what they'll do to top it for the next one.

    they didnt rerun the delta event so I doubt they will rerun the AOY. If they really do a full blown Gamma Quad Expansion... they could do a Gamma event.

    As long as it contains auto-upgrade to UR XIII on rep gear I'll be happy with the upcoming recruitment event.

    Said recruitment event will happen otherwise I will unleash my flying monkeys whom I haven't fed for months.

    Ugh, a Gamma event. I dont want to have to grind out all reps/doffs/admirality etc AGAIN. So can we just pack all those rewards into the leveling part this go around or give them major boosts in exp to doffing/rep/admirality for those who already did past events. Please for the sake of peoples sanity.

    You can have them grab all the stuff from the previous events.

    You say that word forced, I don't think you know what that word means. When it comes a recruitment event like the AoY, Delta Recruit, or Temporal Agent no one is forced to make another character to get all the rewards, you the player have decided to partake in the event to get the rewards, no one is putting a gun to your head to do it. The last one did not force you to make a Fed, you could have decided not to partake in it and not make a Fed. It made sense that the AoY event would be a Fed-only event, since that story would not work for Klinks and Roms but they could have made an event exclusively for Klinks and Roms beginning in the same century as the Feds just with different episodes but still going into 2409, which is now 2410.

I mean I'm into kinky stuff but they just took it to far... rubber chickens is where I draw the line! #CluckmeansNo.

    They should have offered AoY campaigns for the KDF and RSE....and since they didn't they should correct that oversight. It would be especially interesting for the Romulan captain due to the Civil War between the Republic and Empire. I'd roll toons for the campaigns just to experience them though it would be nice if they could arrange it so they could just use the unlocks for my Andorian as he's almost completed all rewards...just have to finish Delta Quadrant and the Iconian War.

    AoY KDF is never going to happen since TOS viewers just saw Klingons a few times as Space Russians, not as three-dimensional people like in TNG and DS9. The geezer nostalgia for TOS KDF isn't there, nor is there much material to work with. The Romulans as Space Chinese (and Space German U-Boat Captains) were even less of a presence.

    The only problem with that is that canonically, we don't know much about the Klingons in the 23rd century. Most of what we know was only expanded upon in TNG or beyond. the same is said for the Romulans.

    This needs to come back around. Especially for the new wave and for the people who weren't able to collect it the last time. Even if it breaks the tradition, the amount of benefits, especially for new people who aren't yet stacked on resources helps alot in making them relevant. Or even making a form of obtaining the Delta and Temporal recruit rewards somehow.

    You may want to look at your device, because I am pretty certain that two of the arcs didn't hand out any rewards, and I think it was the Solanae Sphere mini arc and one of the two you mentioned, probably Iconian but don't quote me on that, so you may be able to save some time. Also 100 marks/1000 dil/500k ec (unlock for other toons 100 marks/1000 dil) may not be worth the effort if you're looking at the rewards alone. Completionism may force you though, we've all been there ;) The big one really is the ability to get Mk XIII UR rep equipment. 20% bonus XP for admiralty is also nice to quicker level when wanted. The rest I'd consider nice but not necessarily something to hurry towards with all your might.
