Here's a thought. They could just put in a throwaway line that he got promoted or retired, and make Commander Sarish the station CO going forward.

I hope he'll stay in the game and that he won't die.
Lol. I agree with fleetcaptain5. I can't understand the hate either. Considering it would be common practice to announce who is calling you, even on the phone, I still do it.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? I never had a problem, with Kurland. In fact I wish he'd just assassinate Quinn already and take over running the entire Starfleet.

How about we just send Kurland into the Mirror Universe and let him torture them with his inability to not shut up?! Quark will also take bets on how long he will last. All times are in milliseconds. (;
It is just time for Kurland to go promote him or kill him off preferably kill him off and give someone else command of the station like Sarish or how about the catian Captain from the mission who commands the Madison? I would like to see some of the other races in charge of major installations instead of humans. We got T'nae and Quinn as for Quinn he has been Starfleet Commander for awhile he could always retire and someone else take over. It's just something to keep the game fresh
I'd rather have them bring back Commander Karen Andrews. (Yes, I like the voice.) Yes, I know she probably took a kar'takin to the <insert vital bodily organ here>, but they should bring her back anyway.
they just need to redub Boldy they rode (last mission for Cardassian arc) and it would be good. problem is they didnt flush out the audio and just have that 1 line of audio repeat every step of the way in the mission... or they could take out all the pop up audio ques and just have the explanation at the very beginning of the mission with a button to bring it back up if you need to look over the instructions again.
This is basically it. That mission has way too many interruptions, mostly with pop ups, to be completely enjoyable (I actually think the first part would be nice without those and the one walking part to gather information for the first riddle. Unskippable cutscenes are also a bane, but these are short enough)
I still don't blame it on Kurland though. And as Fleetcaptain, I liked the self-deprecating humor in "Midnight". (Redone later to less effect)
They do a repeat of the "kurland here" approach to stealth with tuvok during the delta grinding arc.
Thr "grinding" part should have long disappeared. But yes, "The Devil's Deceit" isn't much better. Agreed, Tuvok speaks different lines, but all this "Now click A, now do B" doesn't make for interesting gameplay, which could easily have been done especially in that setting.
And since a DS9 revamp is quite probable, it may be that Kurland will get removed (would need a slight redoing of the end of "Boldly they Rode" though). But the problem already addressed is that, unlike in a single player RPG, social zones will be a problem, since players at different stages of the storyline will gather there. So if Kurland dies, you'd have to take him out of DS9. Granted, this can be done (naming on maps from "Unknown System" to "Lukari" or "Dewa III" to "New Romulus", visuals on Iconia) but the more interaction said character has, the more opportunities for bugs appear. And ridicule. Remember Admiral Zella from the mission-that-is-finally-gone-which-shall-not-be-named aka "Divide et Impera"? She was still around after being dead. There's even foundry missions addressing that issue.

Some games actually have a system which allows players/characters who have completed certain parts of a story to have certain NPCs exist or not exist just for them.

I can see it now... They kill off Kurland and yet his ghost will inhabit DS9, just like the Dividian's inhabit Drozana. And everytime his ghost appears, you will here, "Kurland, here" and "This is Kurland" until you emergency transport yourself into space without a spacesuit. :P
Delta arc will always be delta grinding to me, it is marginally better but there's still flaws they can't escape such as the time padding as you fly from one end of the sector block to the other either because a mission spat you out in a totally unrelated location or due to the fact the missions were placed so far apart. My personal favourite was being sent off kobali prime to do a single errand for the doc but before you were allowed to unlock a transporter pad that would let you avoid the overly generous spawn rates.
The missions where you are supposedly stealthy and on your own should be just that. They've used small incidental popups for minor chatter in the game from before than the kurland incident occured. Trouble is timing of them often sucks as shown in the current S&C episode where ships declare they're doomed when you've already cleared the map of hostiles.
But for the sneaky missions they'd be a much better thing than having someone constantly tell you things they can't possibly see unless they are with you.
At the very least as a high ranking officer we should have a STFU or I'll demote you option.
I would hope Kurland died when DS-9 got pounded, and that Minna gets the command. The only way I want to see Kurland in-game again, is as Admiral Leeta's BoyToy. Which ain't gonna happen. And I don't wanna see it either... So yeah, no more Kurland, please and thankyou

i support the death of kurland, 2 dom polaron based builds (along with 13 other characters who had once throughs) one of which i got both cannons and beams...what is SUPPOSED to be a clandestine mission he interrupts CONSTANTLY. "kurland here" i KNOW who the frack you are who else would be on coms? who else would be constantly interrupting someone trying to navigate the exterior of a space station avoiding detection? ever heard of RADIO SILENCE?
i want a mission where he gasps out his last breath

Considering the fact Kurland is always seen on DS9 in Ops, and is important to the 2800 Feature Series... I doubt they'll just outright replace him. The Transporter Operator on Qo'nos was not as important and was more easily replaced.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Why not both? I'm not the only one who misses the forum fires that we used to have every now and then
I mean, we have four moderators now. Surely they'd be able to contain a nice warm camp fire?
Kurland is always here.
It is said that the Q civil war didn't happen because of Janeway's decision to let Q die. It simply happened because Kurland wasn't there.
The universe simply didn't properly exist before Kurland was here.
Before him, there was no here; there was only chaos.
