I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Walker. I'm just waiting for the Master key sale to conclude so their EC sale value will rise a bit.
That said, anyone who has used the ship have any comments or reviews for us?
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Consider the visuals to be pretty good so from my point of view no problem.
It doesn't stand out from the ship already in my inventory and to simply purchase a ship for a trait for me is a no go .

While I chuckled at the "massive" part since it's obviously FAR from being true, I was still expecting more than just ONE ENSIGN intelligence station. Having no unique bridge or DSC warp effects didn't help either.
The console seems like a great "OH TRIBBLE!" button, though and I quite like the ship's design.
But, when you have the Vengeance (which is the REAL "most massive and powerful Intelligence vessel" of the lobi store) with its cloak, proper Intel seat, Intel abilities, curved spam console, trait that makes you welcome swarms of enemies, special warp effects, set bonuses with other ships' consoles from the same box, unique bridge and "dices of doom" pets, I don't really see any big reason to spend money or lobis on the Walker instead of the Vengeance for the same price, except the look, size and console.
Crossfield Class on the other hand, that's a different story. 4/3 weapon set-up full science vessel (Sensor Scan, Secondary Deflector, Subsystem targeting) with assault cruiser-like capabilities and hull HP with a BOFF set up that allows you to hit someone with Tyken's Rift III and Surgical Strikes triggering the Energy Web trait if you have it, now THAT's a ship worth writing home about.
Now, this trend that Cryptic is trying to set for new lockbox ships not having custom bridges, that's unacceptable. As expensive as it is to acquire these, unique bridges need to continue to be a part of the package for lockbox/lobi/R&D ships, as it has been since the beginning, full stop.
I personally, like the Fleet Miranada better then the Walker-class. Boff layout on the Miranada is okay and console layout is superior to the Walker-class. Only thing about the Walker I like better is the 5/3 weapon layout. I totally agree with you about the consoles not having a combined bonus as being a missed opportunity and an oddity as cryptic is usually pretty smart about that kind of stuff.
Yeah, a rare case where we're in total agreement. I'd take a Miranda (which is basically a KT Connie with a better turn rate) over a Walker pound-for-pound as well, but since I have a Temporal Light Cruiser I have no need of either of them.
Judging from the prices on the Exchange (which is high, even for a newly introduced lockbox ships) and the number of announcements about people getting them from lockboxes, it seems that a great deal of people either don't care or their enthusiasm for brand-new canon ships overrides it.
I actually hope they're working on some sort of modular bridge/interior system, and skipping the bridges on these and the new Event ship are to give time to artists to work on parts for that. They were looking into how to create bridges/interiors for the Amarie-class Smuggler's Heavy Escort, which is why it has a reworked mission interior, but even that proved costly in time.
Last time there wasn't a set bonus with lockbox/Lobi ship consoles (Tzenkethi), a set bonus was added later with a 'Promotion!' pack ship.
I'm sure a lot of people don't care about bridges, the people who don't are pretty vocal about it in fact. But for a brand new canon ship that's in a current show to not have a bridge? That's a pretty glaring omission IMHO.
I reaaaaaaaally don't like the implications of what you pointed out in terms of where our upcoming set bonus might be. Definitely not going to spring 1+billion EC on a R&D Promo ship just for a console, but then again I guess I probably won't have to, as 4-piece and sometimes 3-piece set bonuses are often lackluster.
In B4 R&D Box I.S.S. Charon Dreadnought!
Traits is nice. Any cloak ambushers probably drooling over it. (Like we need any more powers to help vapers in PvP?)
Console is interesting. 20 second 'time out' for a nice boost. Always nice to take a break during combat to sit back and take a long refreshing drink of your beverage of choice.
My opinion: I want them.
My go-to science builds are always torpedo/exotic builds. I have yet to really try something else in a long time.
Maybe I should.
Wasn't sure about the fairly limited hybrid seats (Ensign Intel and Lt Pilot), but it gives you a few more interesting options to play with. Currently testing Attack Pattern Lambda and OSS 1. Overall, the boff stations setup's fairly flexible.
It's not a bad ship, but it's also not a ship you buy for power. Rather you're using Lobi or EC on the exchange, it's priced in the same neighborhood as the Kelvin Dreadnought which in terms of raw power, is superior to the Walker in every possible way.
If you like the ship, and you want to fly it, then you should go ahead with your purchase. There is nothing about the ship that makes it 'bad' or an unwise use of funds, but don't expect it to dominate the battlefield on the level of the Vengeance.

I'm definitely in love with the Crossfield. I actually prefer using only one torpedo, and that's my Gravimetric Photon, So the rest of my weapon slots I have fitted with Sensor-Linked Beam Arrays, which actually indirectly buffs my torpedo by buffing critical severity. I also have 3 of 4 subsystem targeting abilities keybound that I'm always spamming with the beam arrays. Just wish there were some fun doffs or traits that could make subsystem targeting really cool.
This.
One of the things I like about DSC is some of the Federation ships. TRIBBLE the Klingon ones though, they're simply abominable (and not Klingon-looking).
