Yes it was. But out of all the players, how many would have logged on that particular day, and received the gift? A significant percentage wouldn't have.
Hmm, I kinda just started not too long ago and have a Romulan fed at level 60 so that ship was no problem. Does that mean I can't claim the Defiant and the B'Rel on my low level Fed and KDF unless I superlevel them to 50 during the next 24 hours?

If you claim it today it unlocks for your entire account so all future characters can fly their particular variant.
Edit: If you didn't have the ship for your level 60 you can also get the card for admiralty missions as well.
T5 Ship today! Sorry if this is already been asked, but do I need to be of a certain level to claim it, only level 12 right now, could I claim and save for when I'm leveled?

I'm not able to claim it for my Fed or KDF as they are level 11 and 9 respectively. So it seems you need to be level 50 to claim it so other characters can use it later on.
Are there any specifics for being able to claim the ships, i know that similar questions have been answered above, but it is saying that the ships are restricted for this/my character whenever i try to claim them.

You must have a lvl50 character of the apprpriate faction to claim a T5 ship.
Since the give-aways must be claimed within 24-hours, if you do not have a lvl50 character for a faction, you cannot claim the free ship. (That's how I missed out on the B'rel retrofit last year for my, at the time, new KDF captain - so, thank you Cryptic for a second chance at that free ship!) Once claimed, that ship will be yours for your entire account and will be available for any future characters of the same faction once they reach lvl50.
Unlike give-aways, if you purchase a ship (for example, in a package) which your character cannot use yet, it remains available to claim for any present or future characters of the appropriate level and faction for that ship.
Was sick with the flu and missed the first few days of the giveaway. The first thing I got was the 200 marks. Too bad that during the event you cannot pickup any of the stuff that you have not yet claimed unless you can and I just missed it. I look forward to the upcoming gifts! Thank you Cryptic!!!

I think the ship giveaway is kinda lame. Ive been in and out of STO since beta and my guys are rear admirals and I cant get a B'rel, Defiant, or Valdore for the fun 8 years because it requires me to be a vice admiral....shameful.
ok really odd question here. my gf has a romuluan thats not quite high level yet but she says when she signed on the rommie side that she *COULDNT* accept the ship from the cstore. are there level restrictions on the ships on who can actually claim the ship? (not USE, but CLAIM) since this would make no sense in this. is it shes just not low enough to snag it and its sayhing she cant or is there really a level restriction?
