The Malon battlecruiser is the best ship in the game.
I would love to see anything but Breen this year...
Sorry but your gonna see a T6 Breen Raider for Winter.

For people saying we've ALWAYS had a Breen ship... the FIRST winter event acutally had the Jem'Hadar Bugship. After that, and a revamp of the winter event so that it was less luck based on getting the prize ship, we started getting Breen ships.
And I bet you 5 ECs its a Breen Raider T6. Last year we got a T6 Chel Grett. They'll finish the set as consoles will eventually get it themselves.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Well I never said we always had Breen but it's been at least 5 or 6 year of Breen Ships -- time for a welcome change. I'd love to see a T6 Jem'Hader Bugship.
Unless they allow a console to be purchased from Christmas items from events like some kit modules and others? *Ponder* Still I suspect your likely right...
Just people were getting tired of Breen 1 or 2 years ago as we've had 6 straight years of Breen. Hopefully maybe we'll see a major new event like Speed Skating or Biathlon and some exciting new prizes to be earned.

You mean the Recon or Strike ship that ALREADY exists thanks to promo boxes?

Say it isn't so tigeraries... perhaps another year I won't do the event ship. I've done that two times in the last four year's cause I didn't like the Huge Breen Dread either...
I don't mind 1-3 Alien ships just wished they stop the 3 epic console set bonus on event ships and make the consoles well just a little better. Often you loose out far more than you gain by placing most 3 epic consoles unless they offer good passive boosts to skills similar to other consoles.
Otherwise I'd much prefer more variety of Alien ships at different events but that's me.

You know you DON'T HAVE to use the consoles either. And with a T6 Plesh Brek, we'd get an enhanced version of the console from the T5 that comes with a passive as well as the active clicky power. They did the same thing with the T6 Chel Gret. After this year... its up in the air as to what we'll get next.

Doesn't make sense as the ships we get tend to follow each species' design philosophy. The Breen tend to go with asymetric. Most other races tend to be more symetrical. That's just how those species design ships.

The holy grail for sto would be adding asymmetry functionality to the ship tailor and character creator.
The general crowd in STO seems to prefer the simplistic and outdated kiddy "sci-fantasy" ship look (I hope I'm wrong though). The breen ships are closest to a mature hard sci-fi look right now. People with any real taste prefer the hard stuff of course.

Isn't the whole point of the ship tailor for the player to design their own ships?

To a degree, as they are still limited by ship class. You can't put an Akira saucer on a Sovy.
I mean I've enjoyed having Excalibur nacelles on a Connie Refit, and I've done some minor kitbashing in the past on other ships, but total freedom to design your own ship is impractical and also literally impossible due to parts not being designed to fit with other parts. At best, maybe Nacelle types could be unlocked but then the scale of said nacelles on various ships would be a problem. A Connie Refit's nacelles on a Jupiter would be kinda... small.

Right. You can't put an Akira saucer on a Sovereign. You also can't put hair on a character wearing a hat and a bazillion other meaningless restrictions. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to.
Total freedom to design your own ship is not impossible at all. There are plenty of games that allow players to do exactly that. As for how "impractical" it would be in STO specifically, that depends entirely on how the model data is set up. Which we know nothing about so all we can say is it's unknown.

Every variant of each ship we have, the parts are specifically designed to work with each other. So we can take the basic Sovy and her two free variants, and mix the parts with the Imperial (fleet), Regent, and Archon parts without any problems. You can't say the same about putting an Akira saucer on a Sovy Hull.
There's also the part where people will be making Pilot Escorts look like Connies.
As of right now... the ship tailor limitations make sense from a lore and gameplay perspective. Kitbashing a Connie hull, Akira pylons, Olympic Saucer, Galaxy neck, and Presidio Nacelles together with a Nebula mission pod thrown in for good measure... dear god. And I thought some of the kitbashed Galaxies I've seen were bad. Gameplay wise... it would mean no one knows exactly what you're flying because you could be flying a Fleet Temporal Science vessel, but kitbashed her to look like a Connie or Defiant! You could be flying a Pilot Escort and make her look like a Galaxy.
That is one can of worms that should never be touched, let alone opened.

For anni, I hope it's another Lukari Ship, maybe a carrier. But, given that lately anni ships have been Sci ships, it will probably be some ridiculous Crossfield type ship (oh wait, that's not x-faction.). OK then, Kentari Sci ship.
Winter will deffo be another breen though.. sigh.. bored of Breen ships now. all of them have been level/bank/card fodder.

Yeah. So what?

Breen Ships are where symmetry went to die, as in the have none. Loved DS9 but Breen ships are the Ugliest ships in all of science fiction.
I'd argue that the Malon Battlecruiser is the ugliest.
I'd say those TRIBBLE Klingon ships are pretty damn fugly, so is Discovery itself.

So I don't understand why tigeraries thinks it's going to be a TAC Raider this year. Two Breen TAC ships in a row seems a bit much... ...especially if we've had a SCI Breen Theln Carrier, I believe the Breen Dread was a ENG Ship, we've had the TAC Breen Chel Boalg Warship, plus 3 other's although two were T5 versions...
I'm still holding out hope for anything but a Breen ship this year.

CBS doesn't want a widely available Prime Connie at endgame. Hence why the Temporal Light Cruiser is such a rare Promo ship. Allowing anyone to basically turn any ship into a Connie undermines what CBS allows and doesn't allow. If CBS had allowed it, we'd have a C-Store T6 Connie.
They said no to the C-Store.
They WILL say no to unrestricted ship tailor FOR THIS VARY REASON.

The Plesh Brek is the only remaining Breen ship without a T6 version. Consoles don't have it period. They've been getting T6 versions of ships, which eventually make their way to PC. They're bypassing the T5s we got entirely. As pointed out earlier... after the T6 Plesh Brek... we have all the Breen ships at T6.
Also... when they introduced the Plesh Brek, it was the year after we got the Chel Gret. So it wouldn't be so weird.

I still holding out hope for anything but a breen. Just because some were released as T5 I hope doesn't mean we need them all as T6 versions... ...I guess I just really dislike the Breen let alone their ships. I mean we haven't seen Risian T6 variants yet for Summer; does that mean those may come - somethings are best left as T5 only or T5U.
Still I've made my dislike of Breen obvious - still it be nice to finally see a Miracle Worker Event ship for Winter or even Anniversary. I'm planning on purchasing a few over the next month.

We may see T6 Risian at some point in the future. Consoles don't have them at all, and generally what Consoles get at T6 filters its way over to PC. Consoles got a T6 Cardassian Keldon, we had the T5 Galor. Now we have the T6 Keldon. Same with the T5 Xindi, Tal Shiar, and Dominion ships.
We might get another Vorgon for the summer event, or we might see a T6 Risian.
