i am very interested in the new box with a very unique sci ship in terms of specialization i am interested to see what combinations people can do with command powers on a sci ship
Either they didn't post it, or there is no T5 (upgradable to T5-U) ship in this lockbox. Again.
Look, I know that T6 is the bomb or whatever the slang is these days, but I wouldn't mind having T5 upgradable ships again. If for nothing else then for Admiralty reasons. And there seems to be a gap in the Son'a ship line anyway as there is no Escort. Of course, as someone already pointed out, maybe there will be a new DOff pack and they'll stick the Son'a Escort in there.
Aw well, I think I'll skip this lockbox as I have the last few. Saving up Infinity boxes if I get the urge to buy and use keys. Which is rare anyway.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
There was never a Son'a 'escort' in the film - just the command ship, the battleship(s), and the collector ship.
A Tzenkethi box would probably have room for a T5 ship in it though, they have a full ship roster.
I do wish they would add another 'ultra-rare' T6 to another box though. That, or add promotion ships to the Ultra-rare ship packs from infinity boxes. That pack currently only has two options: Vonph or Acheros - which is why both are moving for only 100m EC on the exchange.

I have always found that to be kinda funny...the rarest of the prizes being some of the cheapest on the exchange. I've tried both because they were so cheap. The Acheros is kind of fun, with a turn rate good enough for dual cannons, but other than that nothing special. The Vonph is not a bad carrier, being tactically heavy and with an extra weapon slot up front...but the size fills half the screen. That makes it a bit tedious to fly.
Both ships turned out to have better counterparts in my opinion...
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

T6 is the "end game" ship now, not T5 or T5-U. There's a reason that all lockboxs that are introduced to Console had the old T5-U's turned into T6's. It's wonderful that you want more T5's but outside of the rare apparent mistake that was the Sphere Builder lockbox there's no reason to release a T5 that's missing a trait, console with passive stats, and BOFF specialist seating. Also there's nothing that says there has to be 3 types of ships in every offering so you're grasping at straws on that one.
I would rather have objectively better stats wise ships than gimped "sorta there" ships. You get an admirality card just the same if it's a T6 or T5-U so really the only part you could argue is a T5 would be cheaper and if that's your actual reason for wanting a T5 go farm EC.
The ship-specific traits and consoles look interesting from the perspective of, shall we say, practical magic. Sort of related:
I do wonder if the isolytic plasma weapons' second proc is modified by CtrlX, because interesting possibilities present themselves if you're using Kick Them While They're Down with a dual-cannon/turret combo in concert with, say, gravity wells...
seeing as there's an advanced isolytic tricobalt launcher, where are the regular sort (along with mines)?

If they did ever design a Son'a escort, I have an idea for the name.
Son'a Command Science Vessel [T6] & Son'a Intel Battlecruiser [T6]...you couldn't come up with actual class names for the ships?
also, is it just me or does Repair Crews seem like a direct copy of Neutral Zone?
How so? Neutral Zone grants +30 damage resistance to foes you haven't attacked within the last 30 seconds. Repair Crews looks like a hull oriented version of Pattern Recognition. Instead of shield resistance and defense, it grants hull resistance and regeneration the longer you stay in combat. I'm not seeing a relation to Neutral Zone at all.
Where's the Son'a fighter? Or the Starfleet mission scout ship? Though I do like the Son'a battlecruiser.
The fighter might appear when they have a Son'a carrier available.
As for the Starfleet mission scout ship, I was hoping for a while that STO will make scoutships for the Klingons and Romulans, so a 25th Century version of that ship would fit in with a bundle of that sort....
Non existent of late with the last load of lock-boxes
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Another Lobi Console/Space Weapon Set. Will be Very Rare Quality. It's about time they Retrofit all Lobi Consoles/Space Weapons to be VR. I mean for 200 Lobi ($50) they should give you VR. Actually, Mk XIII UR would be more fitting.

Ground trait is interesting when farming tholians, but otherwise i don't see anything in this box which is particularly interesting from my point of view.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Didn't the Son'a rejoin the Ba'ku at the end of Insurrection? So they've not been around for 50ish years or so, right?
The Son'a still seemed to be around towards the end of the Dominion War, named in an episode airing a few months after Insurrection. Either the timeline is a little wonky (Insurrection doesn't have a Stardate), or there were still some Son'a around. The Son'a had a lot of aliens helping them out in the movie, so it's possible that the originals all went back to the Ba'ku, and the aliens kept the society going on their own.
Or only a few Son'a present during Insurrection rejoined the Ba'ku with the rest still being wherever they settled.
Insurrection is a real mess number-wise (and other things) regarding the whole Son'a/Ba'ku split-up thing, especially considering the Ba'ku are pacifists and supposedly having no advanced technology around (I absolutely do not believe it since they managed to find what was Data's malfunction and acted like it was ridiculously simple) yet managed to kick enough Son'a out of their planet that these guys managed to become a not-negligible power able to enslave 2 races, create powerful ships and ally with the Dominion.
So either the Son'a were super-geniuses able to breed like rabbits before they became infertile and there are still thousands of them that managed not to die from their many health issues after these decades, or whoever tried to make a backstory for them in Insurrection failed biology, math and sense of scale forever.
Tweet showing a picture of the Son'a Bridge is up on Twitter. Looks good though I told them not as good an effort they put into the NX Refit.

the frequency of the new lockboxes and R&D promotions running nearly back to back have kinda put a bad taste in my mouth. It makes me worry about the health of the game as it see them as major cash grabs. Since April, the Privateer lockbox, Smuggler RD promotion, then 2 weeks later 23rd century promo, then just a week or so ago updated infinity lockbox and now a brand new one. It makes me uneasy. If they keep releasing lockboxes at this rate they will completely run of of canon ships to release and the wonky factor will just increase, which I believe hurts the game.

everything. it is always the same thing, ships, traits, kits etc; nothing new.

Those sorts of weapon models are why I think weapon 'reskinning' should be an option. If they did ever design a Son'a escort, I have an idea for the name.
