Since the ec cap went up I've been able to sell 3 promo ships for 500 keys each, double the price of before!

It won't have an initial impact but it'll shoot up once the next round of lockbox ships arrive for the gougers to do their thing to, less on the current ships but new ones will be a gougers wet dream.

Just did a quick check on unboxed ships I have had stashed for a while and apparently someone thinks the sheshar choice pack is now worth 1.25 billion.

All the increase is going to do is increase the asking price of the highest end items, so YES, pricing gouging of sorts will ensue.

You don't honestly believe this do you?

You don't honestly disbelieve it do you? And if it does indeed happen, will you PM leemwatson and tell him he was right and you were wrong? Will you also admit this on this forum?

Okay, the colonization chains reward colored DOFFs, but there are DOFF missions which have you "evaluate <science/engineer/tactical> officer. Those are BOFFs and can be found on the recruitment DOFF tab. And like I said, the Zen store sells Caitian and Aenar BOFFs.

Sorry for misleading about the colonizations, had a bit of a senior moment.

Ahh... I've bought a few Aenar boffs from the C Store, but equally, I've never thought to look for one on the exchange :D I was meaning the regular boffs, Trills, Vulcans, Klingons etc, who were of the higher rarenesses. I received a Klingon boff my very first day, but he was only regular white quality (still a damned fine boff though, and a real embodiment of Picard's advice to never underestimate a Klingon) I've received a rare quality boff after completing a mission (I think it was the mission in the Devidian arc where you board the Cardassian vessel, but several alts later, they all start to blur into one) so I was curious how the very rare quality (but regular races) boffs were available :)

No worries, I've been getting more than a few of those myself lately ;)

At the end of Facility 4028 you will also get a Jem Hadar BOFF. During the missions leading up to that you will also get a chance to choose the weapon and Jem Hadar armor. Facility 4028 also awards the shield for the complete set, so I do that mission twice and dress my JHBOFF in it and put him on my away teams.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

new lockbox ships are like 300m or less though

At the moment perhaps which is why I said the NEXT round of lock box ships, meaning ones that aren't out yet.

Hey man, if you don't like crazy high prices, talk to Cryptic. They control the supply.

Well I checked the Exchange for Promotion Ships and what I found was that the Constitution/T'liss/D7 are still above the cap. The Amarie has the 'cheapst' entries starting in the mid-900s. All others ranged from 1.1 to 1.5 (the cap).

Some were trying to sell T5 JHAS' for over 1.1 Billion. Probably because of the JHDC pet unlock, but you could get the T6 for just a bit more. Somebody ought to tell them that people can pick the JHAS up through the Phoenix Prize Pack.

Now at least the lights shine into some of those dark alleys, but there are some who prefer doing their business there.

    PromoShipPrice = (100 * PromoPackPrice) - (100 * R&D Pack Price) - (1000 * Lobi Value)

    ...

    Education is the silver bullet!

    Is it now?

How do you explain those 920m ships sealing for 1.5 billion then?

I don't understand what you mean, read my post again but carefully, and don't edit the important parts out of the quote.

    There wasn't any important parts.

And I know you don't understand- or at least won't admit that you do.

Quoting has always worked on my mobile phone... Maybe yours is just inferior.
Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

still haven't see the t6 temporal light cruiser (constitution class) listed on the exchange..........

Nor have I. I have seen the Enterprise-J and the latest promo ship, but they're still far above cost. Time will tell how this goes. I imagine that we won't get a good idea until the next infinity promo pack- if there is one.

i tried to voice my concerns in one of the games more popular trading channels only to face a deluge of insults and harassment about how i don't understand the games economy..

lets look at it objectively, when annorax first came out the exchange cap was 500mil.. the ship was selling for just over that amount, 500-700m for a time, give or take.. after the increase of exchange cap to 750mil, the prices rose on promo ships to a billion shortly after.. the release of the connie/d7 promo ships saw prices surge to a max of 1.5bil.

some would have you believe that its "natural inflation" to account for these increases, but in the games entire history there has never been such a fast increase in such a small amount of time. apparently historical context is irreverent, and trying to explain this is considered trolling.

now these massive price hikes are limited to certain items in the game, specifically new lobi/lock box ships and promo pack ships. there was a massive deflation (a good thing) for regular ships with the introduction of the infinity box..

apparently this is a difficult concept to grasp, and i feel like its trying to explain to a politician the difference between macro and micro economics when they deliberately try to confuse the public in their remarks..

those people who argue for this are usually the people who have all the wealth and horde these items, and also happen to be the ones with several thousand posts in the forums. they advocate a process which further entrenches that wealth and has the potential to increase their profits, kind of like asking a Wall Street Banker the best way to run the economy.

i "suspect" that these increases will make prices rise over time, and i don't think its good for the majority of players. i guess its good for those wealthy players but i would prefer a strategy to benefit the majority.

and FYI the Poll question and options are not the best, a more objective poll would just be Do you approve of the increased ec cap, yes/no

Accepting education is one of the best ways to learn. Maybe all those people in the that channel were on to something.

oh look, @repetitiveepic has felt the need to try insult me with a remark about education.. i guess i should file that under, don't give a TRIBBLE..

shouldn't you be busy making forum posts about how the cardassians were correct to exterminate bajorans, i mean isn't that kinda your thing making inflammatory posts.
