Blog said "maintenance." I assume technical platform wizardry. Specificially: the seals holding back the network latency demons are starting to break so Cryptic needs to re-apply the blood hexes and other unholy sacraments to invoke the power of Ushunu, the dark one, to bring order to the lower server realms.

I just started up my first character since beta last night. I didn't really care for the game back then but a friend has been kind enough to fill me in on the state of the game now and I figured I'd come back and give it a try. Anyway, I tried to log in this morning only to find the server down today. Read up on what's going on and while I'd prefer to be playing, I get that things need to be fixed.
All that said, my friend mentioned to me that events like the current one, the Mirror Invasion, happen quite often. Just how often IS quite often? Are they on a set schedule or do they just sorta float around? Or is it tied to the time of year, like a summer event sometime in the summer, winter event in winter?
I have to say the game looks pretty darn nice now. I remember it being pretty nice looking back in beta as well, but this seems snazzier. Probably because I have a better PC now.
Just thought I'd pop my head in and say hello and perhaps get some questions asked.
Oh, one last question now that I think about it. Is there someplace here on the forums I could look at to get more background information on the game? You know, like missions, ships, planets and the like.
I can't wait until the server is back up, I want to see what's in store for me!

Plz? Just a yes we know about tailor seams and clipping? I paid a lot of money for my outfits and over half are unusable. Lobi outfits, Store outfits... Huge investments. Been reporting these problems for YEARS with no response at all. Please just give me something...

So the new Smuggler's heavy escort is getting a full interior, corridors, bridge, engineering, medbay, a bar, even a cargo bay. I would love something similar for previous R&D promo ships as well.
