T6 Miranda needs to be in the C-store. to hades with the lockbox/R&D/Lobi idea.
With the huge number of people that have been wanting a T6 Miranda forever, of course it's going to be either lockbox or R&D. No way Cryptic is going to pass up on that kind of money by putting it in the C-store.....damnit.
Yep, SOD the boxes, I say.
Not to mention just for the idea of the folks hording ships denied the chance to ask for blackmail prices will be worth that alone.
Speaking of, is there any evidence they're selling? I see people spamming them for sale a lot but I don't see many takers. I want one but I sure as hell aren't paying 1.5 billion for it. Even if I had that much, I wouldn't drop it on one ship bound to character.
Who knows, Meow. I won't fork over that much EC or keys for them, either.
I see them spamming their wares all the time....but, like with any greedy gits, these guys would rather bite off their own tongues and swallow them, rather than give them up for less. I think it's just a big issue of ego as in "I got something you don't have...and that you want!" They like the idea of dangling that carrot at us, and they got those wanting it in a position of 'take it or get the hell lost". ~shrugs~ Least that's how it seems to me.
I vote for 'no' for a T6 Miranda. All these old tiny ships shouldn't have a max tier version. They don't have the mass. Just look at the 'historic' progression of starship sizes. Newer, more powerful ones are larger.
I know no one at Cryptic has that opinion, so I'm sure if they think they can make some money off of it it will be done at some point. So my alternate vote would be to stick it in some uber-rare box so I don't see a bunch of them running around.
With the huge number of people that have been wanting a T6 Miranda forever,
Really?! Now the Connie I can understand; but really?! There's a 'huge' number wanting a Miranda? I'd think more of a 'very vocal minority' over a huge number.
And thanks, smokebailey, for the
Hmmm...Defiant is roughly the same size as a Miranda. Intrepid is a little larger than a Constitution. Excelsior is bigger than a Nova. It's not the mass. It's tech put into the ship.
Beat me to it. Like with scorpions, the smaller ones are the ones with the nastiest sting.
My guess would be there's a new zeni-store T6 light escort released with lots of fanfare over a relatively small hull with a heavy weapon slot, and it'll be able to wear the revised Miranda skin. Hopefully available as part of a 3-pack of light escorts for all three factions.
Except that the Miranda is classified as a "Light Cruiser" in game. How does making it a light escort work? We already have a light escort, in the C-Store NX.
Nope NEVER a c-store it should be done just like th cluster F the TOS ships were so Miranda fans have to agonize over getting one if ever. On the Lockbox market for a few weeks the gone forever.
Why the hostility?
It would be justice considering how long people pleaded for a better TOS Constitution and when it was "released" along with the BOP and D-7 locked behind a stupid paywall RNG and then sold for disgustingly high costs both in EC or in real cash by a certian scum outside seller or horders. So turn about fair play in my book.
Actually... no. That does NOT make sense, as the T2 Cruiser has TMP Connie as an option for parts. Therefor you are gating everyone who has, or will have, the T2 Connie OUT of a model revamp, which makes no sense. When they redid the model for every other ship, they did not gate it behind having something else to get the new model.
Eh... you can only put the T'liss appearance on your Malem if you own the Temporal T'liss Light Warbird. The T'liss got a touch up for Agents of Yesterday as well. In this case, I'm guessing the Nu Miranda skin will be free for owners of the Temporal Light Cruiser, but you never know.
Where will the Nu Miranda go? With the 35th anniversary of Star Trek II Wrath of Khan coming in June, I'm guessing it will go into a promo pack in order to "celebrate" the anniversary.
Maybe it will be a Pilot Light Cruiser. At the least, it will make fans of the Defiant go "WTF?" when the Nu Miranda out-flies their escort and add entertainment to the "everything is too fast" threads.
Considering the Connie is a lotto ship and a dam expensive one to boot, it should have a TMP touch up as priority with accurate beam banks rather than phaser strips along the saucer
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
The Tier 5 Starship Trait for the T6 Miranda prevents you from moving vertically in the game - called Two-dimensional Thinking.

The Federation Player starting Miranda will also get the update. When they update the exterior it applies to the lower level ships as well.

Yeah the Klingon "Vesta" is nice stat wise but OMFG why a Gorn ship? I won't be using them just for that alone! Seriously what did they do look at a semi crumpled cardnoard box and go yeah that will make a good looking Klingon ship... Has all the charecter of a wet brown paper bag. It bugs the hell out of me they can do some great Klingon ships looks wise but then release some fugly things like these.
Because people have been wanting more KDF faction ally ships, especially Gorn and Orion. Gorn are members of the KDF, and their playable ships have all been Science ships, which shows a precedent that the Gorn are the more science oriented members of the KDF over the Klingons themselves. The KDF does not consist of ONLY Klingons alone. There are Orions and Gorn as well. So it would make sense that the KDF would integrate ships from their allies as well. Just like there are still Vulcan D'Kyrs and Caitian specific ships Fed side.
If you want a pure Klingon designed Sci ship, go get the Sutherland counterpart. I for one, while I don't have any of the T6 Vesta variants, actually welcome the variety.
a lot of us would've welcomed it more if it weren't intentionally gimped in terms of shield, aux, handling/turn rate, etc. etc to give it what amounts to a single phaser-bank's worth of extra hull...
Maybe fresh out of the box, but I'm sure people have built those things to be nasty, just like the T5 Vestas used to be. Base stats are one thing. But what truly matters is how one is BUILT by the player flying it.
Really?! Now the Connie I can understand; but really?! There's a 'huge' number wanting a Miranda? I'd think more of a 'very vocal minority' over a huge number.

T5 (before there was T6) / T6 Miranda requests were so common, just like endgame Connie threads that Cryptic didn't like those threads.
Anyways, we got TOS & ENT era ships at T6 now, so the floodgates are open.
There were Miranda threads yes, but nothing near the level of the Connie...

I'd love to get my hands on a T6 T'liss...but I don't have that kind of scratch and I don't think I'd ever pay someone that much if I did have it.
But I know Cryptic is gonna keep the ship very rare because they know people will pay through the nose for a piece of nostalgia like the Connie/D7/T'liss.

I'd rather see it via lockbox, and NOT an RD promo box.
I'd rather see it in the bedammed C-Store for a change rather than yet another ship hidden behind PWE's BS gambling wall.

Maybe fresh out of the box, but I'm sure people have built those things to be nasty, just like the T5 Vestas used to be. Base stats are one thing. But what truly matters is how one is BUILT by the player flying it.
problem: identical builds are what you end up with, and at that point, it may be 'nasty' (not my experience with Varanii), but it's nowhere near the nasty that it's release-peers are.
base stats impact your multipliers, esp. with HOW you build nasty into a ship. in core, against a team wiht no science, sure, it's nasty-but so is a flight deck raptor, or a bird of prey (and those two have the handling and speed to apply their nose guns).
it's the basic problem of the Varanus variant, and it traces all the way back to when the Varanus was first released, and sold poorly because it fell down against "Free" Federation science ships that did NOT cost twenty bucks worth of zen to buy.
keep in mind, I bought the three pack for the Tier Six. I do know a bit about it. it doesn't have turn rate, and boosting turn rate means sacrificing quite abit...so the aux cannons are a gimmick. It puts out less cumulative sci powers damage or healing than an equivalent tier five Fed science ship, and the 'hull tankiness' is a joke-one extra torpedo, on average. it's hard to keep on target, its holds, drains, debuffs and heals are weaker, it has weaker shields (which would be expected-on a cloaking ship-these don't cloak.)
basically paying the cloaking tax for a non-cloak ship.
Aux Turrets work on no Multi-Mission Science Vessel. It's wasteful. The 0.5 difference in turn rate isn't the problem, the problem is cannons of any kind work poorly on science vessel with limited tactical slots, and if they drain the very power level that powers all your real DPS abilities, it's not getting any better.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Well... KDF has been getting some attention more lately in ships. Generally with the ships they make crossfaction bundles for there is a KDF variant. Hell... KDF FINALLY got their Vesta equivalent x3 with the T6 Multi-Mission bundle.
As for the Klingon "warbird", which I believe was admitted to be an error on the movie writers part, Probably if they do a Kelvin Box 2, alongside the Kelvin or Franklin type starship for Feds and probably another Cryptic design for Romulans.
Yeah the Klingon "Vesta" is nice stat wise but OMFG why a Gorn ship? I won't be using them just for that alone! cause people have been asking for more non klingon kdf ships, it was killing two birds with one stone.
main reason I didn't worry about it is, I have a kdf sci ship with temporal seating for my joined trill. no need to chase the three pack.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Oh man, that revamp of the Miranda looks great. And it really p***** me off. Because the way things have been going this is going to end up being lockbox, lobi, or promo and I HATE that. The devs need to take the person who keeps making them put these high demand ships into lotto boxes and smack them upside the head until they stop it. It just alienates the players.
I may reward them for that behavior by actually purchasing it this time. I need to see the stats, though, because I'm not really dazzled by the trait or console.
Ok, well then I'm really freaking happy and retract my previous statement. And the addition of KDF and Romulan variants is just icing on the cake. I am one happy pretend space captain right now.

Unless R&D promos suddenly have fleet variants instead of being fleet-level from the get-go, that's a negative.

This^ They did it for the T1 Connie without owning the T6 so why not the T1 Miranda.
