Haven't used the torpedo yet. I would have thought that this weapon would be a heavy weapon with the recent release of the heavy weapon slot. Oversight or missed opportunity?

I agree it would have been nice. Off-topic since now both science and escort/raiders have a ship-class specific item, that they might add a cruiser/carrier/dreadnaught specific item. Than we might see ship-class specific pieces for sets, since you could make one version of each for the rep set. just hard to think what would be interesting to be such an item for that class of ship.

There's a console effect from the Terran rep that might. It's a small boost of it's that the one.

Radiation is not Exotic, supposedly or otherwise. No damage type is. Exotic is a separate attribute that could be combined with any damage type, just like Weapon damage and whatever there are.
I'd assume the missile's rad damage has attributes something like Radiation, Weapon, Projectile, DoT. I don't know if it would count as a Torpedo. It's unfortunate Cryptic doesn't put all the damage attributes in the tooltips so people would actually know what counts as what without trial and error.

2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.

Yeah but the command aura of the cruisers/battle-cruisers/Dreadnaughts are not really items in the same way as secondary deflectors or heavy weapons are, and would be more apt to compare to the sensor analyst of the science ships or the flanking bonus of the raider type ships, but also heavy weapons I think were added more to off-set the fact that a escort has fewer weapons than a cruiser. Also a slot like a communication array slot for cruiser type ships that gives different varieties of buff to your command auras, like maybe widening the area your command aura affects, could give more appeal for cruiser using players to use the non-weapon command aura.
Generic torpedo consoles improve the kinetic component but do not affect the radiation
Radiation boost consoles/set bonii improve the radiation damage
Weapon damage specific boosts improves both radiation and kinetic components
All damage increasers improve both radiation and kinetic components
epg has zero effect
exotic boosts have zero effect
Aux power has zero effect
So, trying out the Kentari Mass-Produced Missile Launcher. Doesn't seem stellar, but doesn't seem horrible either. I do like the animation for them and the High Yield nuke. The 'nuke' is lack-luster damage-wise. I guess nukes are passe in the 'future'. The 180 degree arc makes them a bit more useful than normal torps. But I think I'd still stick with my wide-angle Quantums if I want 180 degrees.
I'm disappointed with the radiation damage. I've not parsed or viewed the combat log but the radiation damage seems to not damage very much.
I appreciate the 180 degree capacity and thank the devs for a weapon that is supposed to do that much shield bypassing damage.

The Counter Command Tac console that boosts radiation damage boosts the missile's radiation damage as well. That is the only item I've tried so far. If I am remembering correctly my rad damage was 3020+ before the slotting the console and 3275 ish after. I could be mis-remembering but I was not impressed with the gain.

Also, seems like high yield nuke warheads would be a horrible idea to use in some places like atmosphere assault : P. But I know they'd never model atmospheric effects with it as that's where nukes truly perform.

you never know...they added a disintegration effect to it...maybe they added a mushroom cloud FX specifically for AA
though, i don't think the engine can differentiate between different maps for the purposes of playing FX on a weapon hit
