When you're messing with legacy code, especially code that's as spaghetti as Cryptic's engine evidently is,
Also it's important to note that spagettification is a side effect of getting changed repeatedly, and not necessarily the way it was originally written.
And then we get instances of Cryptic fixing something that broke with the Vaadwaur... and all of a sudden we got super EptE Borg Spheres that are as fast as a speeding bullet.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Seeing as they have access to and (presumably) understand the engine's source code, it really shouldn't be impossible or even particularly challenging.

Much of that code was, at this point, written almost ten years ago (not counting whatever they copied from City of Heroes), as a rush job after Perpetual fell on their faces, by people who are no longer with the company (like the guy who created the entire duty officer system), and who probably didn't document it very well. They know how some of it works, enough to keep it running and make some changes and additions; but presuming any more than that would be a mistake, IMO.
Always amusing to see people who are probably not programmers and who have certainly never seen a single line of Cryptic's code pretend to be experts on something they know nothing about.
All's we can speculate is to whether or not past developer like tuffli used good coding practices when making these systems, and using forward slashes very liberally so the next Joe that looks at it can see "OH that's why you did this". But none of us having seen (or likely will never see) this code we can't speculate as to what issues there may be. So to what hfmudd said maybe it is documented VERY well, and they just don't care to mess with it as besides adding a few new doffs and possibly missions here and there it just "works". And given how closely tied to it R+D and admirably both are, we can only imagine SOMEBODY was able to interpret at least a good chunk of it as admiralty is basically a doffing reskin
Also, Doffing was changed in a fundamental way recently by altering the logic the game uses when automatically slotting doffs. So clearly Borticus understands at least that much.

It wouldn't be so bad, if we could transfer all of the accolades and such to a new character. Most of the old things, missions, sectors, etc. are gone. So by using a new character, you loose all of those things. I'm also a one character player. Weird, but that's me. I don't have the time for more than one, anyway. I also LIKE playing one character very much. That's why I inquired about the change.

Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

this isn't guild wars 2 and cryptic is not arenanet - the best they have ever offered for achievements is costume unlocks for 100, 1K and 5K kills over in CO, which they are very unlikely to offer for any accolade prizes here

Accolades are awesome. They don't need to give anything "useful."
But it would be better to be able show them off not just the score total, improve the UI so it's not so clunky and of course fix all the broken/missing ones. Then add more, more, more!
Removing nonsensical stuff from the game code and replacing it with stuff that makes sense for the game's athmosphere has indirect economic benefits in that it will motivate people to play it more.
If this logic either worked or was in effect at Cryptic the T6 Constitution would be a C-store item.

I'm pretty sure it no longer auto-slots commons, or did you mean that it could kill non-commons?

I haven't done that in a LONG time so I don't know. And I don't think you can kill nin-commons unless you put them in a mission that WILL remove them from your roster.

Although I can that be an easily defined section of doffing, which you could parse and understand without having a clue about the system it feeds. As I am not privileged to know any line of code, this would be pure speculation.
