a item can only be posted under max. 3% of the previous posted item. this would prevent loses for each player.

So if I list a medium hypo for 650M, the game should give me a warning that it might be worth more? However, if I list it for 649,999,999, then I shouldn't get that warning?
I'd like to see there be a timer preventing items from being resold for a few days.
This is Star Trek Online, not Soros & Ichan Online. Letting people TRIBBLE others on the market might make a few people happy, but it hurts the player base as a whole

thnks my point for the first two suggestions. yours is better do
Resellers are the only ones who buy anything anymore. I have to listen to do many players whine they are EC broke all the time, why would I cater to them?
For example, last week I was cleaning out some mirror ships. I dumped them on the exchange for 2 mil each. one person bought them all in like 2 minutes. If i would have posted them for the 4 to 5 mil most ppl price them at, I would still have them today.

Some people seem to enjoy playing Bloomberg Commodity Trader 2017 in their MMOs. It's the "pvp" that they enjoy. I might not understand why they like it, but if it's what they enjoy....? /shrug
(what's annoying is games that force that on you. I've been playing a bit of Elder Scrolls Online.... there's no central auction house, just "trade guilds". Who have to bid money periodically on better locations for their publicly accessible Trade NPCs. Which means that they have to charge their members dues in order to raise that bid money. Which means you *have* to be a successful auction wheeler-dealer to make enough money for both your dues and a profit. Anyone who doesn't enjoy that kind of stuff is stuck hawking their wares in general chat, or just vendoring all their loot to make some gold. STO's exchange is vastly better for the average player.)
...and, of course, the auction moguls defend that system to the death, because it plays to their advantage. If everyone could participate in the economy it would lower overall prices for things and they would profit less.
a item can only be posted under max. 3% of the previous posted item. this would prevent loses for each player.
No. That is almost similar to real life price fixing which is considered illegal.
before selling items above 650m. give the player a warning, to ask the community about prices. some items are sold for much more then exc. max. limit ...
Not necessary. If a high priced item does not sell, the seller will eventually realize that perhaps he or she is listing it for too much EC.

Have been suggested before. I assume you meant "weapons by mods". The Exchange could benefit from boolean search functions.
it should just not be possible to sell samothing for 500k, that actually cost 5m
I reserve the right to sell Master Keys for 1 EC if I really wanted to.
If players are concerned about accidentally listing something on the Exchange for a price far less than what others players are selling it for, then they need to pay attention to the selling price they are entering before actually clicking the "Post" button.

This. I mean, it's really not difficult to count how many times you're pressing the zero key ...

Op though your idea is in princepal sound its just to late in the games lifespan to implement without wrecking the ingame economy, had this idea been implemented say year 1 of STO then yes it wouldve worked nicely, but as it is the game is to old the economy to established via the exchange to implement this without doing irrepable damage to the games economy.
anyways op i like your idea but its just to little to late , maybe cryptic can try it on console since right now the console economy isnt to well established but on PC , it just wouldnt work.
It **should** be possible to charge a lot more or less than I paid, more or less than it cost me to make, or more or less than you like.
Why? Because your sour grapes should have ZERO impact on this, and my doing so has ZERO impact on your gaming.
You only care about this because you likely made a posting error and got mad, and you also apparently can't afford the nicer things on the exchange....things that are not required to play.

How about a big hell no. Very clear you have no grasp of what a free market is. I can only guess there was a shiney on the exchange you wanted and you didn't have the EC to buy it but someone else did.

sounds more to me like he accidentally sold a key for 500k instead of 5mil
If I want to undercut or even merchant items on the exchange, why should I not be able to do so ? No one is FORCED to use the exchange, so if the price isn't right, wait. If I decide I want to sell my master keys 30 % lower than market price, or buy up the ones currently on the market, and re-post them for my profit (and risk) than, it's on me, and should remain that way.

Didn't think about that one. I've done that myself and took it as a lesson to double check before clicking. Like a level in Lemmings whose title says "careless clicking costs lives." in this case "Careless clicking costs EC."
When did it become wrong to make a profit. I think this how thread boils down to OP not knowing how to generate energy credits and cannot afford the stuff on the exchange. There are so many guides online, try looking on reddit or steam.

it is about the moral aspect. not good, that players get rewarded with other players mistakes. imagine your grinded for a item worth 750m and accidentally sold it for 750k. how would you feel? the system is like a broken atm. many times it gives loot for free! and the camera is blurred. fixin the issue should be highest priority.
and don't ya worry. with 6 years of experience i make enough loot. without sitting whole day in front of the exc.

Players need to take the responsibility to verify their own selling price before posting it on the Exchange.
You cannot expect to go through life with someone else always holding a security blanket for you simply because you do not wish deal with the consequences of being careless.
The only "entity" that loses is the person who does not bother to verify the selling price entered into price field is the selling price the person actually wants to list the item for on the Exchange.
Have you ever bought or sold stock before in the real world? There is typically a field in which you enter the price per share you wish to buy or sell stock. A mistake there can be very costly if you do not verify the price you wish to buy or sell.

My low pricing is up to me not you.
If you can't pay attention that's on you
No to #2.
Paying attention to market conditions and taking your time is your job not mine.
#3 seems OK.
I can already do #4.

type "phase beam [dmg" and find all phaser beam weapons with a [dmg] mod
type "plas [crtd]" and find all plasma weapons with a [crtd] mod

These are all examples of things that would work fine in SWtOR's exchange, but do not work in STO's exchange.

1) Remove the Fighter category from under the Starship Equips. All fighters are now bound to character so this category is superfluous.
2) Take all the normal/rare/elite reward packages and add them to a separate category from the normal "Reward Tab"
3) Put all Reward Ships into its own unique category. This would include Mirror, Lockbox, Promo, and Lobi ship listings.
