DPS Beam (Must Kill everything in less than 1 sec)
DPS Cannon (My kill is close and personal facing the enemy)
DPS Torpedo (Big explosions are so satisfying)
Authentic (Shown in tv series, mix of weapons)
Aesthetic (So stunning it's breathtaking who cares about DPS)
Jumble ( As long as I am shooting)

I have no qualms about slapping dual beam banks into an escort.
And DPS is a relative term, everyone that fires a cannon or beam is doing it not just the console stacking minmaxers pumping out huge amounts of damage because diminishing returns are pretty much nonexistant.
Scryer:--> I use a beams, cannons, and torps. All of the Chronometric Polaron weapons. Neutronic Forward, and Heavy Gravimetric Aft. Doesn't matter really cause I don't really care about the weapons, and Surgical Strikes works with all of them anyway. My build is for using all the armor stripping debuffs and exotic damage buffs to make Isokinetic Cannon and Heavy Graviton Beam hit for maximum one-shot potential. And using Exotics, DRB, GW, etc.
Hestia-->
Front: 2x Terran Task Force Disruptor, (one is part of the ordnance set,) Terran Task Force Torpedo, and Neutronic Torpedo.
Rear 1x Terran Task Force Ordinance Beam, 2x Withering Disruptor Turrets.
This build is a hybrid cannon-torpedo build. I have Rapid Fire 2/3 Torpedo Spread 2x2 and Beam Overload 1x2 (I slide to the side so the beam on the aft fires off the beam overload, usually when targets are low HP, because it's the TTF beam.
I also have Concentrate Fire 1/2 so I can spam high yields from my Neutronic Torpedo. (Sometimes I switch out for the Enhanced Biomolecular.
Presidio-->
Front: 1x Terran Task Force Ordinance Beam, Enhanced Biomolecular Torp, Neutronic Torp, Terran Task Force Torp.
Aft: 4x Withering Disruptor Turrets.
Torpedo Spam, With beam overload on the fore beam and turrets to get Command Spec procs.
KDF Side.
Mat'ha Raptor
Front: 3x Disruptor DHC's of various types. 1x Quad Disruptor. Enhanced Biomolecular Torpedo.
Aft: Heavy Biomolecular Disruptor Turret, Omnidirectional Disruptor Beam.
Rapid Fire 3/2, High Yield 3/2, Beam Overload 1x2
OSS 1/2
Also Uses Disruptor Point Defense, and the Cannon-Spam from the Biomolecular Turret, as well as the Spinal Disruptor Cannons console that comes with the ship.
This ship is built to drill into one thing and take it out as fast as possible. Usually things like boss ships, or the Command Cruisers when they spawn in Counterpoint, etc.
Fleet Norgh
Front: 1xDisruptor DBB, 1x Elachi DHC, 1x Disruptor Quad Cannons, Enhanced Biomolecular Torpedo
Rear: Heavy Biomolecular Disruptor Turret, Omnidirectional Disruptor Beam
Rapid Fire 3/2, High Yield 3/2, Beam Overload 1x2
Tractor Beam x2
This ship is made to de-cloak behind things, tractor them, and tear them up for maximum flanking bonus.
Donate Brains, zombies in Washington DC are starving.
I do use Torps, but they are not the main source of damage. Aesthetic kinda works as it is pretty, but I do care about damage output as well. Jumble because as well as the torps up front I have a random assortment of junk in back for set bonus, but they mostly sit there rather then shoot?
Though, I don't put importance on the 1 second part.
In addition, with the coming changes to subsystem targeting this type of build becomes even more interesting.
But I have run Phased Tetryon on an Assault Cruiser before. Same with Dominion Polaron.
@pottsey5g
I hope you make me proud and made it a trico miner.
Although I did have one oddball setup that had Photon, Transphasic, Quantum, Plasma and trico mines without cooldown problems. Not efficient but was fun for a little bit.
With Trico it's always more a spike build than DPS. Same can be said for most mines at the moment.
There are some changes for mines in the balance patch so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Some other builds i did not foresee. Unfortunately I cannot add more options to vote on as the forum does not allow it.
Total beam escort phantom.
Phasercannon heavy Defiant
Rainbow cannon build Tac Pilot Escort
Torp build(with 3 omnis) Sci escort
360 array build Eng pilot escort(3 omins, 4 cannon turrets, actually quite fun!)
My alt science captain has the following build on her tier 6 Engineering multi-role(liked the visuals the best)
3 Aux cannons up front, 1 phaser turret(need to build a borg cutting laser) and 2 AP omni arrays(ancient and built). Gives kinda the best of all worlds. I can crank up the AUX, and still have 360 coverage so I can use both beam and cannon attacks.
All depends on what I want to do with a specific ship.

Why on earth would you combine turrets and omnis?
Omni and BA/DBB is a solid combination.
Full Turret works
Turret and Single cannon works.
But Omni/turret combo?
Lol, i also like a lot cannons builds, they are very fun to play
Well, I have a DHC(Terran)/DBB/Torp build...
It uses CSV and Bfaw and Torp Spread (naus energy torp).
Not the most efficient of my builds DPS wise. But super fun, and not that underwhelming compared to my synergized builds.
I've also got my super fun full turret build which is the same as above, not super efficient but more then substantial for NORM and ADV romps.
Then theres my Tac with Terran Disruptor Beam array, Coalition Dbbs and regular crafted Disruptor beams. Very potent build obviously with 2x Faw.
My sci's skill tree is PvP oriented and uses Torp and Exo space magic
So, I guess what I'm saying is that I like to mix things up or else things become too boring. Even if that means I'm taking a lesser build into combat. So long as it performs well enough for adv I can have fun with weird builds.
Turret builds are fun and can be incredibly potent if implemented correctly.
As it is turrets have two major advantages: 360 degree arc and by far the highest rate of fire in the game.
These advantages are countered by the lower damage.
The high rate of fire DOES make turrets the ideal platform for "proc" and plasma explosion builds.
Fill out a boat with bioplasmic, biomolecular or terran turrets and add some plasma explosion consoles (or kemocite) in the mix and i guarantee that it will hit like truck.
As it is the plasma explosion consoles are likely to be downgraded with the balance pass, but with subsystem targeting being usable for all weapon types after the balance pass the full turret boat may become the ultimate disable/damage/support boat.
Talking about on my Engineering Pilot Escort? Craps and giggles. I mean I already have a full cannon setup, heavy torp boat, and a DBB/omni setup. So I said "why the hell not, lets try it". Get some giggles out of it.

No. Your fun makes everyone else's fun wrong by default.
Right, but DPS, DPS, DPS, No build I just hit spacebar and hope or, Cool looking as options could have been refined a little...
No. Your fun makes everyone else's fun wrong by default.
Down side it takes a lot of EC, DIL and EXP points in reputation to get all the gear, weapons to get that Sailor Moon ship ;p
