I think the game has already "jumped the shark."

Cryptic have jumped so many sharks, that this game is basically Sharknado....

The introduction of T7 might come dangerously close.

That will kill it. Like it or not, the jump from the power-creeped T6's to T7 would be so large that it would be game-breaking.

Then let them jump more sharks. Sharknado actually got good by the 4th movie.

Maybe this year's summer event kit modules will summon flying sharks.

And nanopulse chainsaws next winter event.

What would jump the shark for STO players is T7 Starships. I don't think many people are going stick around to pay $75 for a endgame ship.

Cryptic would have to come up with a whole new game mechanic to justify T7. As it is, T6 could conceivably go on forever, as long as they can keep coming up with new Specialization seats and Starship Traits.

I think the shark was jumped a couple of years ago. Lock boxes, and I dont mean the money making part of it. The money making part of lock boxes is good. I want sto to last a long time. The problem is the potential abuse that various items in lock boxes might cause. All the ships or items people are listing are going to come from lock boxes or r and d packs. It happened very low key and could be abused. Just my opinion though.

'Jumping the shark'. The English language can be weird sometimes.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind having a jumping shark as a pet.

Maybe Q will give us candy shark pets for this year's winter event that jump and flop around.

You know an awesome April fools gift from the devs would be a mechanical pet shark that follows your ship in space!

    Nothing really would.

STO is just filled with nerds who act as if a computer game with some Enterprise ships in it (let it be without any letter or an J attached to the registry) would be something worth mentioning in the fox news.

Threads like this one are embarrassing and make me wish I had chosen a different hobby, sorry.

I'm disappointed that no one commented on the irony of this :p
