Yes, that is the way my game looks as well. I have to boot up in safe mode.
All drivers are current and settings are correct. Not sure what's going on.
same problem here. Needed to turn off screen-space ambient occlusion and cinematic focus in oder to see anything. I am using a rx480 and the latest drivers.
Yeah, the textures seem to load on my ship for half a second before disappearing on map load. For the login page, my characters are no-faced until I press play where the transporter animation will render their faces again for a brief second. This is definitely a DX9 issue since setting it to DX11 is fine. Unfortunately that's not an option since my GFX card is rated up to DX10 only and it's just brute forcing through DX11.
TLDR: So for characters, none of their skin shows up. For ships, none of their hull shows up. The ground is mostly non-existent.
Anyways, here's an example of a BOff with this issue using DX9Ex.

OR! I get a million copies of myself when I move....
but I thought OK I would try lighting 2.0
I can can not even run the new lighting system try clicking on it and it says my GPU is not supported...
Well erm It was after last weeks patch.... even I i chose not to run it coz I hate the fact every map needs you to alter the brightness lol.
And I can now run the game in anything but low light settings.
Ask Trendy I never rage in fact rather the opposite but this has to be a joke right......... ???
Actually, if you turn Lighting Quality to Low, it'll fix it. True, it won't look as good, but for those who can't use DX11 or experience frequent crashes with it like I do, it's the only option to make the game playable.
I spoke too quick - my PC crashed after about 30 min of playing. And before the patch it never did for like 8 hours + ...
I'm giving up - it's unplayable.

You know this is getting kind of out of hand with these graphic issues. This year alone has been the worse for me and many others . The biggest is the map moving to where it locks my new computer in between 40 to 44 in the loading screen , and yes I have read the forums about this issue still no fix for it . Its been a year for that one now and now like many others in here , I now see through my ships . Direct x 11 needs some love along with every one that chooses to use amd products. P.S. these aren't up to federation standards either -_- .....

Won't work on mine.
Did you try it in-game? I had the same reaction since I was only doing it in the login screen. The login itself is still FUBAR but the game itself will render properly if lighting is set to low.
OK, I solved the problem for myself. Though my machine had been updated to the latest DX 12, the game was using DX9 under the "Display" tab of the options. It's where the "video card" option is. Mine was showing my video card and DX9, once I switched it to "auto" everything corrected. I hope this helps someone else out there.

I tried it in-game, unfortunately. Still borked.

That's unfortunate. Well, here's hoping someone from Cryptic finds out what's wrong and pushes a quick patch out for us DX9ers.
@pwlaughingtrendy (sorry to tag you I cant remember the new guys name )
Is there anyway we can get some sort of yes we know about this, I have seen tomorrows patch notes and they do not make mention of this issue and until its fixed some of us cant play.
Comments
*sigh*
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
Hope it helps.

UPDATE: Switching to DX11 fixes the issue, but they better get on fixing DX9. There are people who can't do DX11...
