That's the Archon / Vizier Class not the Sovereign Class.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

That is the ARCHON class. Don't like it, use the actual Sovereign parts, just like you can turn the Andromeda into a Galaxy and the Pathfinder into an Intrepid.
I just looked at the ship in the C-Store and when you look at the side-on view it really doesn't look like the ship and the nacelles should be together at all, for a sleek overall ship to have such un-sleek nacelles just doesn't do it for me.
As others have rightly said though, there are other nacelles available to better suit the aesthetic.
I have it already, looks great, the nacelles get some time to settle in, they are nice, or you can use the fleet skin naceles, that looks great too.. nice ship, sturdy and fast, i like it!, thou the station seating, it needs even an ensing science..
Why would you fly anything else besides a Kumari, Vesta, Star Cruiser and raiders anyway?
Seriously though, I agree. Those nacelles aren't what I would call 'good-looking'. So it's a good thing we can use the parts of other ships, as already noted. I actually like the saucer (is it even a saucer?) and the new pylons so as usual, having more options now is a good thing.
Most of the federation ships the devs make in this game look like something Fisher-Price would make

Whatever happened to the great designs of STO. It's like they forgot their target audience is not little children, but includes many adults.
I don't know how much more glowy and exaggerated the sizes can get before most people will start to agree it looks less like a science fiction space ship meant for battle and exploration, and more like a kid toy found in happy meals or kinder surprises.

When your other data point must presumably be the Excelsior refit I don't think this holds up at all. Here's some counter examples:
What you have here is simply a ship you don't like, not a campaign against your taste in science fiction (regardless of all else, there's simply no pattern.) If you don't like the Archon, use the Regent skin (it's pretty much the exact opposite, which may in fact be why Cryptic went this direction: more variation.) Don't have the Regent skin? Try Sovereign. Don't like that? Then why comment on this ship?

Thank you for helping me get reelected, it is that superior belief that you're always right, and no other opinions matter, is what will keep me in power for a long time...thank you, and Cardassia thanks you
You know at this point I may buy one just because people lose their minds at the nacelles. The nacelles you seemingly want ALREADY EXIST. Use. Them.
'Cause heaven forfend STO do anything new or creative that you can kit bash freely with. Oh noes!
Another surprising thing is that people playing STO still haven't figured out that a Tier 6 ship release usually means a new ship costume that can be kitbashed freely with all the existing ones, so no matter how ugly you find the new model, you can use any of the old ones you like, or a new combination. It's such an awesome system...

And to further that..
Like they did with the Galaxy a while back, this one not only lets you use the original Sovereign skin, but they did a total cosmetic revamp on the original skin that looks fantastic.
The OP contends that they 'destroyed the Sovereign Model,' which couldn't be further from the truth. Not only did they breathe new life into the original model, but they also provided the new skin as an alternate. All they did here was provide options, it's up to the individual player how many of those options (if any) are even used.
I'm one of the first ones to get on board and break out the pitchforks when Cryptic does something stupid, but this is definitely not one of those times. Personally, I like the Vizier/Archon with the exception of those awful nacelles. Great thing is.. I can simply not use them.. problem solved. Those that like them, can use them and I can use what I like.
Or I could make a thread and complain that they put options into the game that I am free to never use.

One thing's for sure; I'm loving the giant deflector dish.
Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
I dare you to do better.

Edit: smiley.
I must say, i like the 26c ships, the 23c ships and the Geneva catches my fancy. Otherwise, the science ships especially don't agree with me.

I mean seriously, do you hear the things you say?
Its not to your taste. GREAT. Put a different skin on it and get over yourself.

Looks good - which nacelles have you used?
Those nacelles are from the "Imperial" parts set.
