Like many people, I personally HATE the retro fuzz, it bothers my eyes, is very distracting and ultimately a pain to deal with.

What on earth is 'retro fuzz'?

I have trouble to give my vote too.

If retro fuzz means the movie grain effect I’d vote remove it, if it means all the other TOS themed aspects introduced with AoY I’d vote keep it.

Should be toggle-able(?), 1. Because the 50th anniversary is over, 2. None of the other 23c related episodes have it.

On first look, my eyes had a little trouble getting used to the film grain effect.
But after 5-10 mins, my eyes adjusted, and then I barely noticed it, and actually kind of enjoyed the atmosphere it provides.

I guess I'd vote for the on/off toggle for people who can't stand it.

But in my case I'd leave it on. It might be different if it was like the Lighting 2.0 where its all over the game, and not contained to the TOS 23c Arc.
But since its only those 6 missions, I feel like it adds character, and makes them more of a unique experience.
    I enjoyed it overall.

But if peoples eyes couldn't adjust, or they just don't like it...well, it would be nice if they had the option to turn it off.

Although, I think the whole point of the film grain was to make the 23c missions feel different/separated from the rest of the arcs/game.
In my experience, it certainly accomplished that. And I enjoyed the effect (after my eyes adjusted).

Toggle would be the best solution for those that don't like it (and I believe that's the route which K-13 is going down).

Personally I love it, it's a great visual distinction for period missions and would like to see it more consistently applied to older missions, or as a bridge toggle on 23c ships (I'd love to have it on my Temporal D7).

yes i mean the grain effect, couldn't think of another way to describe it.
my eyes personally keep focusing in on the grain its self and distract me from what im doing, instead of playing the game and enjoying whats going on.

It doesn't bother me to be honest. Not enough TOS content for it to annoy me.

The effect can be distracting for some people, or even painful to people that have some medical conditions like epilepsy or something (I might actually have that need to be tested) and that would prevent people from being able to enjoy part of the game due to something like that.
really should be an option to turn such effects off.

Just give an option to turn it off so everyone wins.

I vote option as I actually like it. It gives the 23c. characters something that makes them stand out in a way... and I'd actually love to be able to turn it on for missions in the 25th century for that matter; imagine playing "What Lies Beneath", "Hearts and Minds" or a similar 'creepy' mission with the retro fuzz turned on...

Oh my. Issues. In a thread. About a part of the game someone doesn't like. Whips out a fake 'medical' reason why it should be removed. To publicly display himself as someone who cares about other people. Which means we should all agree with him. Or, we display ourselves as people who do not care about other people. Which makes him a better person and a better STO player than we are. So the Devs should drop whatever else they're doing and get right on this ASAP. Otherwise they're just as heartless as the rest of us unfeeling TRIBBLE.

Okay. Been there. Done that. Got the T shirt. 'Scuse me. Gotta go to the VA now. Appointment for my PTSD in an hour or so.

I dont think i have epilepsy, but it is a real condition that can effect many people in very different ways.
the point i was making, is that some people cant handle something like this for a number of reasons, including medical reasons.
I do find it annoying as an effect, and think it would be better to have the option to turn it off if you are one of the people that finds it annoying in general, or other reasons. if you like it then fine keep it on.

So your premise to get the Devs to remove something you don't like is continue pretending you are asking this for the benefit of other people? So you can still feel good about yourself and get your way at the same time you are continuing to show the rest of us how you care so very deeply about others. And how much better a person you are than the rest of us.

My granpappy had a phrase for people like you. B*&^#@%t artist.

You're selfish is all. Trying to hide behind others while you lie is still lying. Lying in an attempt to get something for others is still lying. I'd probably respect you more if you dropped the pretense. But the first person you've lied to is yourself. And now you can't help yourself, can you?

yeah, if film grain actually caused medical issues, there would've been hundreds of THOUSANDS of cases reported between the late 30s and early 80s (or whenever television sets started getting to the point where the grain was eliminated)

hey im not a Dr, it was an example, probably a poor one but still just an example.
i agree that I dont like the effect, it bothers me to the point that i can not play anything that has that horrid effect.
now im probably not the only one that feels that way, hence the vote, might be a little biased on my part, though not the intent.
i have never hidden the fact that i dont like this effect, and have said so many times that it annoys me.

I voted 'none of the above', wait there isnt that option because the poll is bias.

Leave the film grain as it is. I laugh my TRIBBLE off hard when people complain about it, "oh nos make it stop its giving me a MEE-GRAIN". Shut up. How do you think children of the 60's coped?

Edit: add ar se to this list of naughty words. Silly.

Your poll is biased. There is no option to leave it as is. Your poll implies there is an issue that needs correcting. Cannot vote, there is no appropriate vote option.

I don't think it should be removed entirely, just made toggle-able so those who like it can keep it and those who don't like it can switch it off, and everybody's happy.

But everyone doesnt have to be happy. This isnt burger king this is cryptic, you cant always have it your way. Case it point, lottery box T6 connies and only 4 boring species for TOS faction which was made that way out of someone's idea of canon integrity.

I have not noticed it. What missions is it in? Just the 23rd century?

There's nothing wrong with the film grain, and it certainly doesn't cause any medical issues. Jeez. Basic fact is your brain adapts and it becomes barely noticeable after a few minutes. Yes a toggle would be nice, but the grain is only in a handful of missions and considering the forum isn't full of complaints about it shows that the extreme majority of players don't think it's any issue at all!!

Wow is that why I got migraines from it? Because my eyes and brain adapted to it so well?
