Aren't closed test launches wonderful? This LoR or DR type launch situation could have been avoided with open testing. Without fail, every single time, the buggiest launches are the closed ones.

Expect a patch tomorrow, Thursday, or heck, both days.

*I* expect a patch today. Like before I get back from lunch. This is not something that can wait.

Granted, they have to find out what is causing the problem before they can fix it, but they've known about the problem for a while now and a Dev even posted in a thread about this very issue.

Do I think it'll happen before I get back from lunch? No.

Will I rage-quit the game if it's not fixed today? No.

Just had a bad few days recently and was really looking forward to blowing off some steam in-game. Instead I get more problems.

All fleet holdings showing zero ec contribution even if they were filled pre patch *shakes head* one way to curb inflation in the game, force players to donate twice

Not even sure it's one problem. Different problems for desktops versus laptops. Just hoping for some kind of update saying "we're looking into it". Hoping...not expecting.

So after rescaling in the Display settings for the game everything looks good again. Took a bit of hunting down and trying this and that before I figured it out. It looks good, the featured episode looks fun.

Loving that we are getting Nasuicaan weapons as rewards, though going to ask again that at somepoint we are able to get slightly toned down versions of these episode rewards to equip on ships. I love these odd ball space weapon sets and would grind away without complaint to get extras it I could slot more than one of them on a ship.
Space is vast, it's wonderful and maddening. Yet in that madness is some of the greatest beauty I have ever seen.

Right for those with the missing text, try this (thanks go to one of the guy's over on Reddit who I've shameless copy pasted off):

    1) Go to your "Star Trek Online\Live\Localdata" folder and open Gameprefs.Pref (open in Notepad)

    2) Find the line "PrefEntry GfxSettings.DeviceType Direct3D9"

    3) Delete Direct3D9, so the line now reads "PrefEntry GfxSettings.DeviceType"

    4) Relaunch the game, see if it's fixed.

It's worked on my laptop (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650), so hopefully will sort others out.

    This worked for me :)

I'll join in this one, too... My kits and modules aren't gone from all of my characters - but "curiously" all the ones from lockboxes are from the toon I've been playing the most of late: kit, modules, all: gone! Not in an overflow bag, not in a bank account, not even floating around in space somewhere. Just. Gone. I submitted a ticket, complete with the picture of missing items, but I am really wondering which response I'll get: "sorry, here's a lollipop," or "yeah, nice try..."

Also, GREAT job, guys, on the shock conversion of items like Doffs and commodities to EC - WITHOUT COMPENSATION!!! "These project slots have been reset to zero." And they write it like they are doing us a favor... You DO know THOSE things took ages to build up and deposit (especially those things that COST EC, like torps and commodities), cost US a lot of time and energy to gather, and LOOK - NO COMPENSATION, even an "average" given to everyone would have been something. Instead, I just patched the holes in my Fleet's projects to the tune of over 100 million EC. No, not real cash, but you DO know how long that take to amass if done honestly, right?? Did you guys rehire Dan Stahl or something?!?!?! This is EXACTLY the type of heavy-handed, play it our way or no way GARBAGE that caused so many to bail a couple of years back - which we actually received an apology for, believe it or not, but the best day was learning Dan had resigned! We DON'T NEED MORE OF THAT GARBAGE AGAIN!! Anyway, I digress...

I'll end with this: I DO have DX11, and I went in and immediately turned off the 2.0. Sorry guys, underwhelming and unimpressive. Sometimes, you should leave a good thing alone. Sometimes more is just...more.

@Clannmac, try changing zone, tp to ground or ship, move to another sector (Delta to Alpha, for example)
  • nebfabnebfab Member Posts: 672 Arc User
Disappearing kits and modules seem to reappear after a few zone transfers.... But I'm still waiting until it's fixed before logging in to alts with really good stuff... Just in case.

And no major graphic issues here, except renderscale and the planet on the initial login screen being transparent (unless It was meant to be...)

I did go from map to map once, then from ship to ESD, but I'll try moving about some more - it wasn't too much movement on my part after all. Thanks for the tip!! :)

After patch, the graphics looked HORRIBLE and it takes forever to load now. Entering /renderscale "1.0" seems to have corrected the graphics issue. If your kit/modules disappear, beam up and down a few times and they'll re-appear in your inventory.

Don't need to change quadeants to get kit mods etc back. You can either get them back while in space, or visiting your bridge then going back into space.

Where has Federation fleet alert and blockade gone from the PvE Queue is this perm or only temp?

You only get the new missions weekly reward on one toon?
Done it on my main (FED) and got the weekly reward box that gave a choice of 1 spec point or the upgrade thing.

However on my AoY toon, I done the mission but never got the weekly reward box.
So is it only once per toon (making it pointless to play on other toons) or have they forgot about AoY toons once again?

You could always transfer your Box to your AoY Toon via the Account Bank.
The Rising of the Delta is the best expansion ever, and people love it to death because it is a good day to die in the endless struggle for supremacy of your own conviction. (A spin off of the Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and all the players love it.)

Re; Kits and Modules... Sometimes you might need to change maps a couple times - I had to go from Beta Quad to Sherman System to K-7 and back to Sherman before my AoY Tellarite got his Kit and modules back.

My problem is getting the graphics back to where I had them after the little 'graphics have been reset to default' that happened. Still don't seem to be getting the text size right. It's showing, it's just smaller than it was before...

Yeah, I'm actually finding myself torn; I'm not sure if I want to give my Nausicaan alt the Nausicaan Space Set or keep the cannon-based build he's had since creation...

In addition, the first completion of this mission on an account this week will grant a Featured Episode Weekly Reward Box. This box gives your choice of an Enhanced Universal Tech Upgrade or a Captain Specialization Point Box, which gives the character who opens it a Specialization Point. The Weekly Reward Box, Tech Upgrade, and Specialization Point Box are all Bound to Account, and may be freely traded between your characters.

Prior to maintenance I unequiped all of the gear from all my characters and stashed them in the bank. Just a precaution. I was relieved to find them still sitting there after things got back up and running.

The only issue I've seen so far is that my settings under the 'control' tab keep resetting at random. Posted a bug report for that earlier. The new featured episode was fun, liking the idea of exploring a lot. After toying around with the settings a bit I think I'm happy with how the new graphics look on my end.

How about giving tactical players a reason to stay the new tier six tactical ships are dog TRIBBLE look at the T-6 battle cruiser, it does not even have a commander tactical seat the TACTICAL fleet escort has one pilot seat then look at engineer and science vessels they have multiple bridge officer specializations seats. Tactical ships have maybe one bridge officer specialization seat and its never geared towards TACTICAL abilities. With how hard ARC craps on tactical players its easy to see why there are next to none. Whats the point of bridge officer abilities if tactical players cant even use the top commander abilities and the normal abilities are junk look at beam overload it cant be used with beam target systems like shields or weapons which means tactical officers have 3 or 4 abilities that go completely unused not to mention beam overload doesn't even compare to gravity well or other top science or engineering abilities. As a tactical officer that spent hard earned money on ships that are garbage (yet they are the best tactical ships) i can not continue to pay for or play a game that spits in my face every time i board one of my $30.00 "tactical" ships as a tactical player you are better off buying science or engineering ships at least then you can use all the new fun abilities as of now ARC has clearly stated threw action that they don't care about the game play for a large portion of there paying customers how they can release multiple patches and vessels that leave an entire class on the side lines the new bridge officer abilities look fun but i will never know as tactical ships don't even have commander seats to find out.

It does seem a bit of a gyp, especially now that it's changed from "Two Specialization Points" as it has been before to "One Spec Point or One Enhanced Uni Tech Upgrade" and thus is actually more useful, particularly with kits and modules now upgradable. You'd think they'd want people to have a reason to spend money (buy zen, convert to dilithium, use to upgrade modules...), wouldn't you?

Featured Episode weekly reward boxes were always 1 spec point or 1 universal tech upgrade. You get 2 points from special C-Store promos or the Fed Tour of Duty 10/10. It's just been so long since we had one that you've probably gotten it confused. :)

Positives for the update: My Romulans and Temporal Agent are no longer treated like imbeciles by the ESD traffic control guy going over the docking procedure every. single. time. that I enter the Sol system.

Negative: No experience/expertise for the Featured Episode? Really? Even "Go here and talk to this person because your next several missions will take place in this region" missions at least give a token amount of these.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
