Using laptop is a bad idea to play Star Trek Online because of laptop error crashed down. Just use the regular computer instead of laptop.

I have 2 laptops, 1 5 years old and this one is barely 9 months old that have never had a problem running STO. My newest one even copes with max everything, and certainly has had no issues with the new lighting system.

    Dear Cryptic!

Echoes of Light is awesome! Thank you!

Just played through the mission and I was really surprised about how "Trek" it felt.
Sure, Midnight was great, too, but it was "only" a "Trek" solution to an ongoing war. (And this is coming from the lips of a DS9 fanboy.^^)
But this - so refreshing! An Episode that is 80% just about the wonders of (trekkian) space exploration. And the last 20% (backround-)filled with some really intriguing timetravelstuff.
Most "Trek" Episode for me so far!
    More like this!
I wouldn't mind spending the next 2-3 Episodes on Draconis and just finding out about the fates of the K-13 crew.

Buuut - the Pessimist in my brain just reminded me: Tzenkethi.
Nothing against them, I just don't wan't The Tzenkethi War.

Ok, it seems if I try to go to Drozana Station or New Romulus, the game crashes. When I try to get back in the game the launcher "patches" but does nothing. I try to log out of Arc and it says STO is running even if I close the launcher. I have to restart my computer to even get back to the game.

Great new update and a fantastic new mission!

But, recent weapon set mission rewards have had a energy weapon option (cannon or beam array), but "Echoes of Light" only has a Beam Array. I find myself disappointed by that.

Um.... All my characters have lost their kits. Which is annoying because they had some of the special modules from winter/summer/rep in there.

And I can't put a new kit in my slot. Anyone else having that?

    Graphics look nice at least.

Your kit modules were removed and replaced with modified versions that are now upgradeable -- they'll appear in your inventory after a few map transfers.

Same goes for the kit frame. Although not visible, the old one still registers as "slotted". Try transferring maps a few times.

Btw now you have 5 kit mod slots at all times, regardless of your level. The frames now add passive skill bonuses only. Oh and the distinction between stuff like assault/tactical, med/sci, eng/fabrication mods? Those are no more. You can combine your kit mods however you want to (they are still career specific though -- except for the universal kit mods of course).

    And much-much more.

I've changed maps, beamed up/beamed down....rebooted the game several times; no kit frames magically appear. This is especially troubling since the kits are ones like Romulan Engineering kit that beams in multiple turrets, and the Science kit frame that launches projectiles when exothermic reaction kit module is used...

    Odd

Okay here's how I got mine to show up:
After maintenance I logged in right next to the fleet mine in sector space. I started by going down to the fleet mine ground map. From there, I transwarped to the fleet spire and went into the ground map again, and then back out into sector space.

By the end of the process the mods showed up in my inventory and my kit frame was visible again in the status window (worked consistently over 5 different characters). I hope this helps. Aaand if it doesn't, then I'm out of ideas

Depending on your character's faction, I've found that, for 23c and Fed characters, going from Beta Q to Sherman to K-7 (and if necessary, back again in reverse) typically seems to get mine to show up.

I'd love to deal with a no text error, at current, I cant even get the game to launch. Even after a complete reinstall of 14GB of game then another 5GB of updates. Worked fine until Tuesdays update.

If you're on a XP machine, you're screwed.

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
    • Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
    • Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
    • Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

The new mission was pretty cool. It felt very Trekish. Or at least STOish. Do a little exploring, expect it to lead into a firefight. lol

For my own, I was surprised by the graphics too. I went to option and set them back to maximum and everything was ok. The game stays quick, no lag.

For the kit I still have the problem. I lost Crystalline spike. Even after going everywhere in the game, still othing. sent message to GM, it's under inquiry by the technical staff. We'll see.

The new episode is very fun and not too much fight, I find it good.

Just one special thing, several of my characters received an invitation to start again some missions on New Romulus (Paenhos, Hwael instance etc). Did it happen to other people ?

Just about everyone, I think. It's because the New Romulus missions (and Kobali Prime ones) were finally officially added to the actual storyline progression. The Rep Missions, however, remain locked by the New Rom Rep system, so it's not entirely perfect...

Yeah try going into the launcher options to see if it has "Maximized" checked. I had to uncheck that to make it work. No idea why it got checked when the graphics options were reset, but... whatevs.

You should be able to claim Crystalline Spike from Dilithium store at no dil cost. Not there?

Noticed a bit of a problem - 23c. kits, the ones that AoY characters get for their first one, are doing the blacked-out, non-responsive thing since "Artifacts". Unlike the similar issue with some weapons when AoY was released, when we could work around by using the second weapon slot, there's only one Kit slot, so it could be, as I said, a bit of a problem...

I'm wondering when (or if) Star Trek Online will be included in game optimization programs like GeForce Experience, like Cryptic's D&D Neverwinter?

This only seems to be true for kits that were converted while quipped, NEW ones and banked ones seem unaffected.

How do I collect the items for my Agent of Yesteryear? I don't see it in Promotions.

Still, can't be used, replaced, upgraded, worked around. Definitely something that needs looked at.
