I believe they mean the game's Launcher. In the top-right corner, above the News section, should be a bar with News|Forums|Support|Options|Release Notes; click 'Options' and scroll down. At the bottom should be a box labeled "Command Line" where you can input that.

So after the cluster that happened yesterday I took the rest of the day off figuring that Cryptic would release a patch to fix the problems so many folks seem to be having. Text is kind of important to the game so without it, playing is nearly impossible. I knew the Dev team would need a bit of time to get things sorted out and working again. I was pretty ticked off yesterday so I thought it'd be best to distance myself from the game and the forums as to not say or do something to get myself banned.

So here I am, bright eyed and bushy tailed and awaiting the incoming patch to STO, only to find out there is no patch.

There also seems to be no "Official Word" even addressing this problem, at least not that I've found here on the forums.

It's difficult to understand how such a HUGE bug that affects game play on such an extreme level hasn't been fixed yet, let alone even addressed by the Devs. Especially since it was a known issue on Tribble weeks ago. It almost seems like they really don't care about keeping up the appearance of caring about players or their own product anymore. It's kind of sad. One would think they'd at least come out and say "oops, we'll get it fixed as soon as we can".

Oh well, perhaps later today they'll say something about this and perhaps tomorrow they'll fix it, since tomorrow is the 'normal' patch day. Until then I suppose I'll have to find something else to do, which given my personal circumstances is not an easy task.

I hope (sincerely) that those of you who are having no problems, or were able to find a work around on your own, are enjoying the new content.

I don't know if someone got this bug, but when i choose Replay on Featured Episode, then Decline, the Replay buton stays grey and i can't choose Replay anymore - i think thats rather serious bug...

Is Agents of Yesterday supposed to be part of the console release (PS4/Xbox) already? I'm a little confused because from time to time the option to create a 23rd century starfleet toon shows up, but when I try to, the screen goes nuts. I'd really like to know what part of the behavior is the bug - the option showing up or the follow up character creation not working....

Agents of Yesterday is not on consoles yet. It will be released to consoles Soon™.

After 6 years I'm done with STO..The graphics changes are HORRIBLE! Everything is washed out and over lit. Toons, uniforms..Just horrible..It was much much better before you took away the PC graphics and gave us console graphics. Speaking of the console version there is no crossover, so why do this?? PC graphics are MUCH better!! The interface is junk, controls terrible.. You can't fix simple clipping issues with uniforms and bridges that we PAY for, been waiting for that for YEARS now, I'm turning blue! I have opened TONS of lock boxes and not received ONE stinking ship in 6 YEARS!! Really gets me to want to invest real money into the game (Yeah right)..My co-Fleet admirals today have voted to disband the Fleet, the Facebook page and the Youtube account..All of my Fleet has quit playing and moved on to other games.. I think I will do the same.. I wish you luck and hope that you can figure out what priorities are, fixing issues that need to be and have needed it for years, or fixing things that are not broken to begin with and turning people away..How many times are you going to change the game before it is a finished product?? Good idea, HORRIBLE execution..

Here. Only on my AoE character, but i am not sure if that is related to the issue.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I spent some time patiently working with my graphics settings to get a happy medium; start with the (ugly) default settings, and adjust things incrementally, not all at once. I have found that the fleet mines put the most strain my my GPU, so if the settings look acceptable and don't crash the game there, they should work server-wide.

When I tried doing everything at once, I usually got a CTD, which then requires one to start over from scratch. Make a few small changes, leave the mine, come back again before making any further changes. I got impatient and made additional changes before entering the mine, and CTD was usually the result.

With the combination of a vintage game engine, multiple player platforms & OS's, problems were inevitable for an update this large. Put as much discipline into graphics customization as you do in keybinds & ship builds, and you'll be good to go!

Using laptop is a bad idea to play Star Trek Online because of laptop error crashed down. Just use the regular computer instead of laptop.

For some people (myself included), a laptop is their 'regular computer'.

TLDR: long, maybe pointless to some, since I'm just going over the mission itself - just leaving thoughts and feedback in this spoiler tag here ^^
First contact with the Lukari already had some exploration vibe to it (Future Proof :: Sunrise), but this mission tops even that; a welcomed change of pace for me -- a reminder that, although space can be dangerous, it is also full of wonders and mysteries to unravel.

Madran is... well, still the slippery little worm we've come to "love" when we met him running that mining colony on a moon with Romulan refugees.

Learning by doing, the Lukari are basically given the helm, suggesting what we should do during this little excursion into a system, unexplored even by the Federation. Looking forward to see how they will tackle the "learning curve" moving forward from here.

And Kuumarke makes a return; as a Captain, no less! By the way, whoever designed her uniform should be given a medal. Weirdest, but coolest microphone ever! At least... that's what it looked like to me.

Btw: hoping for more missions with the "Farpoint jellies"! How do they relate to other cosmozoans like the Gekli and Crystalline Entities? Are they hunted in any way? Just how complex their communication is?

When the lifeless but otherwise habitable Draconis III came into the picture I already expected combat. Based on the visible rewards when I picked up the mission, I was expecting any of the usual Gorn/Nausicaan/Klingon trio. Some might say it was boring, but "delaying the action" only built tension for me.

The temple puzzle on the surface was just... wow! Especially the... "Draconian" (because you know, Draconis III?) mural with the 23c Starfleet insignia was an amazing plot twist! Even with the mural of the 23c officers visiting on the surface, I did not expect the survivors of K-13 were involved in any way. By the way... what were those crystals the murals depicted so prominently? An energy source? Heck, a form of life?? Questions! XD

When the info was dropped that the planet was wiped out by the Tzenkethi... Yep, sent reeling again! I brainstormed about them becoming a potential enemy faction since their home system (Tzenketh) was added to the maps, and their names were mentioned elsewhere too (I think they were mentioned in a story blog). If they are indeed coming down the pipe, then I can't wait to see how the designers imagine their ship designs (the novels mention a teardrop shape), as well as the Tzenkethi themselves. They are a canon faction, but they were only mentioned, and had no screen time. Lots of artistic freedom for both the designers, and the writers.

    Now about K-13.
I know, this was probably all about showcasing the layout of the fleet holding  But after that mission with my 23c TOS character that involved the parasites on K-13... the place felt haunted to me.

And then the action starts  Good thing the Lukari were not involved - although they did kinda get caught in the crossfire when the ships started shooting. In my books, Madran just went from "tolerated" to "eyesore".

By the way... if the away team brought up a transporter scattering field on the station... how did Madran escape to his Nandi? O.o

At any rate, it was a great episode! Can't wait to see what comes next. Personally, I think each story arc could use an exploration focused mission like this. Longer arcs could have two maybe. For example, the Solanae Dyson Sphere could have one about exploring the surface of the sphere; the consoles, the history of the sphere itself, how the conflict with the Voth starts (was there any attempt at establishing a dialogue at all?).

And I'm looking forward to testing the mission rewards (the second energy torp in game :3)!

Um.... All my characters have lost their kits. Which is annoying because they had some of the special modules from winter/summer/rep in there.

And I can't put a new kit in my slot. Anyone else having that?

    Graphics look nice at least.

Your kit modules were removed and replaced with modified versions that are now upgradeable -- they'll appear in your inventory after a few map transfers.

Same goes for the kit frame. Although not visible, the old one still registers as "slotted". Try transferring maps a few times.

Btw now you have 5 kit mod slots at all times, regardless of your level. The frames now add passive skill bonuses only. Oh and the distinction between stuff like assault/tactical, med/sci, eng/fabrication mods? Those are no more. You can combine your kit mods however you want to (they are still career specific though -- except for the universal kit mods of course).

    And much-much more.

I hope (sincerely) that those of you who are having no problems, or were able to find a work around on your own, are enjoying the new content.

You comment about the bug being 'huge', but then can't understand why they can't fix it instantly? Then, you go on some kind of tantrum about them not caring about their players or their game when they have -repeatedly- demonstrated in the past (and been noted by their playerbase for it multiple times) that they are among the best gaming companies when it comes to listening to their players and trying to do the right thing for them?

You are just coming off as someone who expects anything that goes wrong to be fixed instantly and all your concerns be personally addressed by an representative of the game company who is going to sit and hold your hand anytime you feel bad.

This kind of massive change to the game is -going- to have problems, and it's going to take longer than 24 hours to trace down how any fix they might want to put in will affect other things, ensuring they don't make things -worse- by trying to fix things quickly for the gratification of impatient players rather than doing it well for the gratification of all players. If you don't understand that procedures exist for implementing changes to anything for a reason, then you need to think more before posting here.

Is this update perfect? Hardly. Is it in need of work? Beyond question. Did they miss things they should have spotted? Definitely. That doesn't mean you rush to blast people who are trying to deal with a dozen problems for not fixing the one you -know- is the most important when you don't know the issues involved in fixing all those issues. Especially when the past record of the devs taking the concerns of the players in the past and coming up with fixes as quick as possible (quicker, I will add, than any other company I know of) is well known to some of us.

So. Chill. Go learn how to read a book again. Go find out why Star Trek was more than an MMO a few years ago. Most of all, give the people who have to do all the work so you can have some kind of fun in the game they have made and are attempting to make better for you the time to actually do their work -right-.

Yeah... the last major graphics problem (that I can recall) was the '18897741' issue a couple years ago, it took almost a month to solve and discover that it was merely a problem with one of the new lines of code released with Season Eight: The Sphere caused some computers - and it was seemingly random - to not want to run the game properly. Know what those experiencing the problem did? We banded together for mutual support, we enjoyed ourselves on the forums to keep our spirits up, we might have occasionally pulled an 'Is it fixed yet?' on the Devs, but we accepted that the problem had to be first hunted down, then not only fixed but fixed in such a way that it wouldn't cause more problems...

And in the end, everything was fine. The problem was fixed, we got to play again, and Season Eight WAS worth the wait (remember, this is when Sponsorship Tokens were introduced and commodities were removed as a requirement from some Rep systems, along with the whole Allied Zone/Contested Zone Space Adventure Zone and the Voth Ground Battlezone, parts that are still some players' favorite areas of the game). Are there problems with 'AOY - Artifacts', yeah, but nothing that can't be fixed if we give them a little time. Because with Kit and Module upgrades, a storyline that looks pretty good and a fleet holding that could almost tempt me into joining one, Artifacts looks like it will be worth the wait.
