Admittedly, I have trouble with the Scimitar ships. When I do run one, it just doesn't "feel right". Don't know if it is the Boff layout or the turning issues. Feels really sluggish.

Another ship I have is the Herald Quas... I simply detest the way that ship handles. I feel like that ship turns on rails. It does, however, have a good Boff setup.

Raiders/escorts are my least favorite ships to fly. I prefer whales for their staying power, though I do like to fly destroyers. My main sci toon flies a Chimera and has a grand time with it. He also has the DSD and really likes it too.

There are ships for every player. Everyone has their favorites and their not-so-favorites. And there's nothing wrong with any ships, as long as they have the right pilots piloting them.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

I can fly them all, but I do have certain ones that I'd rather not fly if given the choice; as mentioned earlier in the thread, if a mission forces me to use a ship I don't own and don't have the "right" gear for, I'm not too happy with that because it's not set up the way I want it. But I still manage.

And as much as I love small, fast escorts/raiders, all I tend to do in them is die well. lol That's why even tho I'm a tac guy I tend to fly cruisers. I haven't explored the eng or sci sides of the game yet, so I can't really comment on them. One of these days I'd like to create a eng and sci toon so I can learn how to use them.

My main (and favorite) ship is my Kelvin Connie, but I also have a Vengeance for those times when things just need to be destroyed, immediately.

Cruisers in general, mainly cause I don't know what the purpose of an engineering zombie is that a super damage escort or powerful crowd control science ship can't do better. I've wanted to love several ships that fell under the cruiser type, but just never could make meaningful use of them, I just don't "get" them.

BoPs. Any of them. To fly a BoP well and use it effectively requires coordination and intelligence. I apparently come from the shallow end of the gene pool when trying to fly BoPs. Which is why I am in a little bit of awe of good BoP pilots.

I've traditionally gravitated towards the Cruiser/Dreadnought ships during my time playing STO, the first significant exception being the Mobius Temporal Destroyer which I got purely because I liked, and still do like, the aesthetic. It was the first time I'd flown a smaller, more escort-esque ship and I liked it but couldn't quite get comfortable.

When the Paradox was released, I thought I'd hit the jackpot - temporal aesthetic but on kind of nice, big ship I'd become more used to. I had the EC to buy it on release day via the Exchange....and my God, I just couldn't make it work. I persevered at it, figuring it was just a case of getting used to the ship or the size or something, but nope. Within a week I was safely back in my Mobius, which stayed as my main until the 26th Century ships came out at which point I got myself a Fleet Temporal Escort. The Paradox hasn't left drydock in forever at this point.

I can fly all ships but if they can't do 30, 40 impulse and have at least 30 degree turn at the barest minimum... I just can't fly them without wanting to hit auto destruct

As to those who want to learn to fly fast and learn how to turn, Delta flight is a great training tool - build for speed, practise flinging your ship through the course at 200 impulse - a few runs to get the hang of it then try the fight after the first part; or simply bomb around sol, practising to turn towards an 'enemy' ship (also the Praxis debris for the kdf is great too for learning to manuever at high speed)

Not that great with ships with slow turn rates. Though I have what 4-6 battlecruisers. Guess I am a glutton for pain. Though I tend to have final ships for all of my toons just so I have some variety.

Example my main tac, well his main ship is the T6 defiant, though I have just about every light escort and pilot ship in his roster. Headcannon is he has his own version of delta flight so he has a bunch of light escorts.

My TOS toon is working her way up to the T6 version of the Ranger, just because.

My sci KDF Orion runs around in the Raptor carrier, my Eng Alien Romulan rolls the science t6 battlecruiser.

I have a different ship for every toon. Though my favs are like i said light fast escorts.

As a DHC escort captain, anything heavier than a Destroyer or some Science Vessels will give me difficulty. Cruisers make me want to toss my keyboard so grinding out some of the starship traits can be difficult.

The experimental science vessel. I thought I could build a tactically focused science vessel but built a scientifically neutered tac ship. I never got it right but it was ugly any way.

What I did was mixing GW with FaW+APB, and so on.

All of them. I'm a terrible pilot. Poor hand-eye coordination. It's all on me and no ones fault. :p
And it's worse with shuttle missions. I'll never be able to complete - Mission: Operation Gamma - as it is. :/

The one ship, so far, that no matter what I do, no matter which character I try it on, no matter what consoles, or weapons I put on it always seems to go BOOM way to often is........ The Guardian! While I love the look of the ship, and just the fact its smaller than the Galaxy it seems to turn worse than the Scimitar! I tried it on 4 different characters, all with different Traits, different style builds, different everything, and not only does it turn like a submarine, but it blows up WAY to easily! I've always wondered if the turn rate was some kind of oversight, or glitch on Cryptics part, but years later,,, it still turns like a submarine.... at this point I don't ever want to fly that ship again!!!!
