I know 7 hours of maintenance is extreme, but they have a lot to repair... A lot of things have been broken with the last maintenance and patch...
7hours to repair in a life is nothing, but only if they repair correctly...
I really hope they will fix all those bugs : http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/comment/13085249
Specifically the Starship turn rate, because in the actual state of the game, nobody can play with cannons, to torpedo. At the beginning of a fight you launch your torpedo, but when you need to turn back to launch another torpedo salve, you cannot, it take you 10 miles to turn back 360°...
PS4 / PS3 - Star Trek online (Trekkie) - Neverwinter - Mass Effect 1/2/3 Fan, I like Andromeda - Main language : Français - Secondary language : English - Third language : Forget you won't like it...
but seven hours, in which you have calculated the number system .... because it would already have expired some time ago ...
warn that prolonged the wait time is so complicated ???
Well done Raja. PMSL You want paragraphs mate read a book!!! As for the other side of the planet you mean the side that made your country? Yea read that!!! Doosh bag. ;-)
Just because Arc is doing some maintinence it doesn't mean STO had to go down for 7 hours as well? We do remember a time when we didn't need a 3rd party to play STO. Do you? Perfect world only did the same as they need to due to the state of the game!!! Also saying the UK doesn't matter is just total rubbish and you must live on Risa and are on the Romulan Ale as you are in a dream world mate!!! Doing it on the time i suggested makes sence especially if the big wigs didn't want to loose money like you said. There hasn't been many occasions over the last 6 years where STO has had to go down due to one reason or another but taking 7 hours due to Arc maintinence just shows many of us that they needed to but to add tomorrow as well when they could of done it all today shows they are under pressure with all the bugs and issues shown of late. If all was well we could of seen no offline servers at all today and just had the usual tomorrow but it looks like it isn't a Perfect World on the STO Front and so they were glad to use the Arc time to do there own patching and updating as well as tomorrows!!! The other reason why players are fed up with today is because there is no real mention of any work being done if you read the patch notes so if they needed today they should of listed the real reasons why and not cover up there mistakes by using the Arc maintinence to bring STO down for 7 hours. So i do appreciate your reply iconians but please make sense next time or just leave it as a private thought or PM!!! This is why we all got fed up when they said Arc was the only way to play STO in the future as we knew STO would get days like this when it doesnt need to so i just hope that after today and then tomorrows down time they make sure they get things done otherwise they will get more unhappy players!!!
Sometimes STO goes down for hours at a time. Even 7 hours or longer. It isn't often. But sometimes it happens. This is one of the few times it does happen. Sometimes it can't be avoided. From what the post says regarding Arc's downtime, it seems they're doing signifigant upgrades to their infrastructure, which is a non-trivial amount of time. Whether it's because of Arc or another matter is largely irrelevant, these periods of time are unavoidable over a long enough time period with any MMO.
I also think it's important to point out I didn't say that the UK "didn't matter", only that the reality is that it's this particular time frame which sees MMOs across the board (not just STO or other PWE games) at the lowest player populations throughout the day. Regardless of whether or not Cryptic is going to "lose money" or even see players lose playtime, the logical, rational choice is to do these maintenance periods when the fewest amount of players are online at a particular time of day, to minimize the anger and frustration.
Unfortunately, you live in a timezone where your prime playing hours coincides with the lowest player population of the day. That isn't your fault, or Cryptic's fault, or PWE's fault. That's just a matter of Earth's 24 hour day, and the majority of consumer populations inhabiting North America.
Maintenance is going to happen regardless of what game you play, and yes, sometimes that maintenance does take 7 or more hours. What's important is that it doesn't happen often. In the case of PWE? It really does not happen all that often.
Well if they sorted the times out that would help. If they sorted the patch infomation that would help. And if they didnt tie themselfs to the Arc that would of helped. Easy things to do but not for perfect world. Enough said as i have enemy's to kill. Peace all!!!
logged in, xbox one here, no update no patch no download.. turn rate still bugged.. and uyall still have ur jobs i bet.. what a nice pink world yall live... hehe
Was expecting a separate maintenance today (20th) but the launcher does not mention it.
Haven't really payed attention yesterday, but has prepatching started?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
unable to get connection to patch server....
anybody knows how to fix this?
I assume you've sent a ticket?
Are you a pc or console user?
Only thing which comes to mind is: are you using a proxy and clear you cache.

Star Trek online Server Checker Application (really old program, not sure it works anymore)

Otherwise sending in a ticket is the only thing remaining.

platform-wide maintenance happening tomorrow? Is there another meaning to platform-wide?
I've been playing for hours. The servers are up and working. Have been for the last 11 hours.

Well, it's obviously wrong, cuz people are indeed in the game playing, including myself and the launcher shows green, too.
