TBH I'm not really keen on any of the designs. They all look a little too sleek and polished for a society that's just starting it's space exploration program
This, big time. And honestly I think they're all pretty ugly anyway regardless of what the Lukari's technological capability is. I feel like there's been a trend lately of making most of the event ships really gross-looking, to the point where I won't even fly most of them because I can't stand looking at them for that long. The last one I really, truly liked was the Samsar.
Ooh, ooh, Bravo!
And may I just say, this is a great idea. Not only are we having another design vote, it's for a ship that will be the Anniversary ship. We all get to vote on the look, and no one has to pay for a ship where their favorite design may not have won the contest! Thanks!
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

I liked the upswept "wings" on Bravo, but the design is too flat-looking. Had to go with Alpha.
And may I just say, while I find some things to like in some of the other designs I am underwhelmed. There will have to be a pretty strong incentive for me to do the usual Anniversary grind for any of these designs.
I dont know if everyone picked up on this, and they should have noted, the top view of the ships are oriented down. That means the front of the ship is pointing to the bottom of your screen.
is it? they look better with the top being the front, Trendy, confirm please?
Normally I love the flying wing design. But we already got a bunch of those ingame for other races(also kinda hate how the wing tips curve upwards).
Plus, for some reason I really like the Alpha ship. Feels like it brings something not seen before to the game as Bravo feels a bit Romulan.
"Please, Captain, not in front of the Klingons." Spock to Kirk, as Kirk is about to hug him.
Star Trek V: "The Final Frontier"
Bravo just has too much of a "aft swept instead of forward swept" wing vibe ala Romulan T'varo. It also looks too ... atmospheric/aerodynamic ... which isn't exactly a Star Trek motif with ships, regardless of faction. There's also nothing in the design shape suggestive of a "this is where the warp coils go" which is an extremely important design feature for pretty much EVERY ship.
Alpha looks more ... purposeful ... to me, and certainly more in tune with a "new spacefaring" race's attempt to break in to warp drive technology. Curiously, the Alpha design has an element that feels more reminiscent of the "ring drive" of the Vulcan D'Kyr, except that it's one oriented in the plane of the ship rather than at right angles. This then opens up a very curious set of possibilities.
Let's say that for the sake of argument/illustration, that under impulse drive the ship flies "flat" with one side of the triangle (the curved bit) being the Impulse Drive. But that under warp drive, the ship changes its drive orientation perpendicular to the impulse direction and the dorsal side of the ship points "forward" in the direction of flight. That would then mean that the 3 rounded circular bits on the dorsal surface we can see in the Alpha image would be the Bussard Collectors, and then the small dark triangles on the blunted tips of the "triangle wings" would be a triple redundant Deflector system for use when flying at warp speeds. The rounded bulge in the center of the ship then becomes Main Engineering and the Matter/Anti-matter tank fuel storage, and the ring feature around it is the warp drive. This then puts all of the crew spaces into the three "wing triangles" with the parts attached in the "circular divots" on the port/starboard sides being what amount to reconfigurable "mission modules" that can be quickly and easily swapped out depending on the mission parameters, since the Lukari are going to need to be testing/proving all kinds of technology. Think of these as being the "external cargo" space that allows the ship to be different things at different times (in other words, a Cruiser or a Science Vessel or an Escort variant, as needed, so as to get "3 ships in 1" in effect).
Alpha also speaks to a simpler construction/manufacturing process geared more towards mass production using a common architecture, such that you don't have to develop "handed" (left/right) versions of the same stuff to put into different parts of the ship. Everything gets done on a symmetrical trilateral basis for the internals which better fits with the more limited industrial capacities of the people building the ship. Less "fancy" and more "practical" in the design.
I went for Team Alpha because it looks like it can have multiple firing solutions from all angles and not have to worry about vector when in combat. Team Bravo's is ok but I would have kept it more flat like instead of the inward bend. Great job either way, i look forward to seeing them in action!
Any possibility we'll get the USS Franklin in STO? Just curious.....lol
It's a hard choice. There looks like there's going to be more choices too?
At the link provided by Trendy, at the bottom of the blog page, there are some interesting designs... Hoping some of them get fleshed out a bit more, but excited to see some of these come about!

Which end is the front? For most designs, having the front be the top part on the picture seems best, but I'd love it if Epsilon and Foxtrot had the front at the bottom.
Charlie looks like a UFO. Delta is a bit WTF!? Echo is like Bravo, too warbird looking. Froxtrot looks a bit better, but who are we kidding Alpha is gonna mop the floor with the other designs.
The Lukari have begun a space exploration initiative after the events of Sunrise. To meet the challenges of the final frontier, they’ve been collaborating with the best engineering minds in the Alliance to produce a new Lukari starship that will launch for Star Trek Online's Anniversary event.
If i had to choose, it would be Alpha. Though, you might of made the wings a bit wider and curved like the Bravo.

Oh this should go real well.
Voted Alpha. Of the two, it just 'feels' better.
Thank you for the time...
Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:

For the most part though, #TeamAlpha
Also, what about the other designs at the bottom of that linked page? Any chance they'll be ship tailor options?
Next, #TeamCoaster beats TeamD... er, better stop there.
