I agree, this is really getting silly. I mean, how long does it take to set up a forum for crying out loud?
To be clear, I have no problem with Console players or them posting questions here. If there is no other forum for them then their posting here is perfectly understandable. But they should have had their own forum months ago.

I have no problem with Console players being able to ask veteran STO players questions.
Only time I view PC as superior to Consoles is in terms of games that can be modded. Also... most Console strategy games sucked. One of the few that actually worked was Halo Wars.

I agree, but it's not really about that.
A lot of the questions that people are asking, us PC players don't even know the answer because we're playing on a different version of the game. The Console version has a lot less stuff in it and the process for C-Store and other things are different from PC to Console.
It would make sense for them to have a forum where other Console players could help answer their questions. Yes, we can help answer questions about missions or ship builds, but there are other questions about the console versions that PC players (like me) just don't know the answer to. The Console players should have a forum of their own.
I quit STO a long time ago, the endgame grind and money sink got too much for me.
I discovered it this week on my ps4 and when I learned it was separate and different I decided to give it a new look.
The first thing I did after downloading was to look for the forum to find out what exactly was different, only to find that a console forum doesn't exist.
During all the development of the console versions, did no one think to do this? Was it just too much trouble?
It appears very little has changed around here.

They've been pretty busy with the console launch as well as all the events surrounding Star Trek's 50th Anniversary. Last I heard some of the Devs were at the New York event.
As to differences, streamlined controls are kinda obvious. I believe the Consoles are lagging behind in content by a few months so you wouldn't have everything a PC player has access to yet. Gives them time to convert I guess. Also Consoles only have one lockbox right now so there won't be as much lockbox shiny floating around. In fact, I don't think Kimocite is on Consoles yet. Only special lockbox weapon type available will be Phased Polaron as far as I know. Also... Console players have a shot at a T6 Keldon and T6 Jem Dread. Something we PC players do NOT have yet. And it looks like sales and events may be scheduled differently between PC and Console, as I think Console is currently having a ship sale, and PC is not.
Until the Console players figure out ship optimization to the point we PC Players have, PvP will be more naturally balanced.
@puffycloud#8809 I quit around that time also and came back & tbh Im playing differently this time around, with no doffs at the moment, and no serious money sinkers as of yet, it's decent,
I spent thousands on PC Sto and had to quit, here on console it's rather easy to grind up, lots of playtime, but it's worth it, I spent 50 so far for two ships, and tbh I'll be content with that for the rest of my console play, just gear up from rep, and upgrade consoles.
If you're one who will be fine with one or two ships end game to really fit your play style it's manageable. If you're one who wants to do everything play all the ships max all the ships out, I'd stay way f'real
I grabbed ships that are rather unique and will be able to interchange my gear without loosing benefits, with that being said I'm rather content using one wep type
they've been reasonable so far I'd say. but yeah I don't know the answers to many of the console questions so the console forum is kind of needed.

Busy or not, it's kind of inexcusable. There should have been console discussion forums long before release. Cluttering up the forums with 3 (or 2) comletely different platforms will only cause confusion and does a disservice to console and pc players alike.

I have to agree, it's not like it takes Dev attention to set up a forum. Any form moderator should be able to do it given the ability and permission. Forums are a pretty easy thing to set up, they should be able to easily pull it off in an afternoon.
Glad to know i am not alone wanting to weed out all these needy console kids outta here. More threads about them than anything. This has just turned into the console forum.
Until they get their own place i just wish they can tag their subject line with the word console, so i know not to click.
You mean how Quoting works on Mobile. How forum titles awarded by buying Expansions have been implemented. How.... you get it.
Most mention PS4 or Xbox One in the subject.

¨Yes, please! That way us "console jocks" don't have to mingle with the inferior keyboard warrior race.
Sigh one in every crowd. My remark was that the console jocks have more or less taken over the PC forum and well thier stuff is not very relvent to PC players outside of maybe ship builds. Thier game is different and needs it forums up and running so thier community can help each other and not end up being confused by threads that don't relate to thier version or push PC threads under mounds of thier queries. The only downside I have on the console thing is I wish there was cross platform play.
Definitely needs a separate forum for consoles. It's not just that threads on bugs and asking for help can't be answered by the PC players, it's that the forum is slowly filling up with threads about issues the PC players dealt with 6 years ago. I mean how long before we start having all the stuff in the FCT topic appear because console users are way behind in terms of content and experience of the game?
Stuff like STO lore and build advice are pretty cross platform but a lot of the topics being brought up are not and need to be kept apart.
It's not an issue of PC vs. Console it's an issue of convenience for the players.
Both platforms have different sets of questions with different answers, it's ridiculous that this long after the console launch we still only have one form for all platforms.
I can't believe someone can't take 30 minutes to create a console forum.
The Germans were perfectly capable of putting up seperate forums for PC, XBox and PS4 - on day one! And they were told about the exact date of the console release on release day! Yet another brilliant performance of the communications departement at Cryptic/PWE.

I think there are still a lot of questions about this game that console players will have that PC players are best equipped to answer. Some however are... difficult. Anything about console controls, and keeping track of what is and is not on consoles already for example.

Ever since Trendy got promoted interaction with the player base in any form became an after thought. She was the only one that did stuff like this, or pushed issues to the appropriate departments.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her, she's deserving of her position, but it kinda sucks for us.
They did have the forethought to set up different tabs to segregate the PC, X1, and PS4 Forums. They just forgot to create the Forum structures there.
Getting a promotion usually is followed by an exit with this company.
