Why do I get a stinking feeling that this is caused by the on-demand patching?? Saying so because the people who use it are playing and patching at the same time thereby using more server resources..JUST A THOUGHT HERE..

This feature should have been canned a long time ago.

Agreed. I'm having the same issues and it's really getting annoying. It's taking two minuets to load the character select screen, and then *IF* I get into the game, I sit there lagging for another five minuets before I can do anything. Then after an hour, if I don't get disconnected, I get a major lag spike and can't do anything again. Meanwhile in TOR, I am having zero lag (well, no more than satellite causes: ~650ms). The only time I couldn't play STO is when the data cap (those need to go) is reached (unlike TOR which I can play problem free). The latest patch on 7-21-2016 has made things this bad. Clearly not on my end.

I even got a strange logout error about being unable to confirm the identity of something in the game.

    Hi!

I have same problems, here in Europe. After last week's rubberbanding there's a lot of disconnects today, every 5-6 minutes, and also the exchange is not working (search button is disabled). Its totally unplayable for me.

I've noticed that little exchange bug, too. If you hit search while getting an SNR, and get disconnected, it will get stuck and you have to restart the game to fix it.

can we petition to remove the on-demand patching??? May be just MAY BE that is one of the underlining causes relating to the server resources and may aliviate the problem not fix..And also how long would it take to patch a regular STO 600MB odd patch..A couple of minutes?

SO CAN WE GET A PETITION GOING TO RID THE GAME OF ON DEMAND PATCHING?

I have never experience such bad connection to the game since beta test. "Server Not Responding" should be Cryptics motto at this point. This seems to be a uniquely Cryptic issue, as I do not experience this in any of the other 10+ non-cryptic MMO's that I currently play. It is awesome that they do events and such but what good are they if you cant play the game! SNR every 10-20 seconds. Cryptic needs to clean house and get some people that give a damn once again.
