So now that we're almost done with Season 12 and with Season 13 coming around the corner what would you all like to see? Myself, I'm dying for a playable Cardassian faction and although I know its not going to happen I'd love to have a playable Borg faction too. Would be awesome to be a member of the resistance movement. Thoughts
Would Agents of Yesterday count as Season 12 or are we still in season 11.5
Expansions never count as a season. Legacy of Romulus came out between Season 7 and Season 8 (originally they were going to call it season 8, but it grew to be too big for what they called season updates) and Delta Rising was between Season 9 and Season 10.
I wanna see new ideas, not more of the same. Exploration comes to mind. But we're likely to receive the standard package. A new mission, a new queue and yet another reputation...

This, very much so.
Also, thar be endgame plot spoilers below.
One thing that I really liked about Season 11.5 and AoY was that the plot built on the ten seasons of build-up to and execution of the Iconian War. It turns out the Temporal Cold War, and the heat up that came at its end, was a product of efforts to end the Iconian War, and our character got to be there for the whole thing. Seeing what new, unexpected consequences of the plot thus far would have could make for and interesting story.

Nice list of ideas, on the prefix have open to all federation ships
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
I am starting to dislike this type of topics because then all the jaded folks come out of the woodworks* and make cyncical remarks.
O the other hand you get naive players that come with grand ideas that are way beyond anything STO could do, and you know their hopes and dreams will be crushed.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

My wish for STO would be a Foundry upgrade and my reasons are twofold. I enjoy story content and would like to see more of it, but the reality is that missions provide negligible returns for developer time invested. I would also enjoy creating stories to share with others. While the desire is there I'm not that computer savvy. I have tried but more often that not been flummoxed by the interface at every turn. I have difficulty with the mapping, the conversation tree seems terribly limited and many of the, "Oh wow!" I have experienced in Foundry missions have been a result of more technically proficient creators utilizing workarounds to allow complex events to unfold in spite of the existing framework. The last time I put together a plot for an episode I located a community authored manual for the Foundry; Unfortunately my German is as poor as my computing.
A Foundry with a more accessible UI and tools and more environments would open doors. While likely labour intensive on the front end the potential is there to build a growing pool of content to supplement what the dev team is creating themselves. There are already many missions that explore themes within Trek but making Foundry more user friendly would likely see it utilized more. A fresh pass on the assets could also make the visual quality more in line with the rest of the game. That's my pipe dream; Relaunch Foundry 2.0 and relabel it IDIC .

To be honest, its difficult to NOT become cynical/jaded sometimes. I can't help but sometimes feel that it doesn't matter how much new content is put into the game, nor how good that content is, because for too many it seems always come back to what Iconians said:
More power creep. More ways to increase your DPS so you can spam ISA and CCA a few thousand times.
Sure, I understand it, I know where it's coming from. But is it really adding something to the discussion? Is it really interesting, or isn't it just the same boring lame complaints we hear every day?
How about something uplifting, to get ourselves out of the hole of this cynism?
Of course there will be new bugs. There will also be bugfixes. Frack DPS and ISA completion time. I haven't played ISA or CCA in months. Power Creep?
But what could Cryptic add that might be interseting.
New Lighting system? That could be quite beauitiful.
New episodes? Isn't the Temporal War basically done now, with Noye arrested and the Battle of Procyon won? What could be the next storyline? Will we put out some feelers towards the Gamma Quadrant?
Personally, 2015 was the best year in story content for STO ever. There was basically a new episode every month. I prefer this over the big (or medium) content releases like AOY or DR, since it means something to look forward every month. Also gives me more motivation to replay the stories on different characters.
Could there be some improvements to Crafting (á la carte mods? Disassembly/Reverse Engineering?)
Will the KDF storylines get an overhaul? It's something Geko always aid was considered. I see it could fall down the wayside because the impact on the players is not as large as the Fed overhauls. But it might provide an opportunity to revmap the story to have faction-agnostic parts, or expand the story-line. (The Fek'lhri and the Hur'q could be a reason to get back to the Gamma Quadrant, too.)

What they need to do is have all the bad guys we've fought and got away to form a "Legion of Doom" with the purpose of getting revenge on us for foiling their plans. Each can launch an attack in the present or future. Given the bad guys out there wo hate us, that would give them more than enough missions to fill a season.

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Season 12 will be consoles arrival...kind of similar when this MMO went from purely sub to F2P/Sub (season 5). If history serves well they will dedicate mostly to console launch and perhaps throw a bone or two to PC such as update GUI, skill tree system adds or other minor graphics design. Don't expect much for PC but 12.5 or 13 will be a different story and should have more cool storylines and FEs as usual for a season.

Would it be too much to ask that we have world peace? Or galactic in the framework of STO.
Yeah, I know... Peace sells, but who's buying?
