Anyone remember one of the main missions of starfleet?

The developers mentioned a while back that they're working on an exploration system. But they also said it would be a while. Looking forward to it nevertheless.

Yeah, boring TRIBBLE that was mostly mentioned as occurring of-screen. I'm not paying $14.99 a month for a procedurally generated screen saver. I want space ships, ray guns and explosions.
Why do people continue to hope for new factions? They don't even support the two they've added. I can't understand why anyone would want to join in on that.
As for what'll be in 13....T7 ships.....enjoy your Connie T-6u!
New episodes? Isn't the Temporal War basically done now, with Noye arrested and the Battle of Procyon won? What could be the next storyline? Will we put out some feelers towards the Gamma Quadrant?
This. New episodes are why I keep playing.
I think there are still plenty of loose ends left to explore, though.
Leeta and the MU, for one. You know she's not done just because she got schooled at Procyon.
Now that the time-travel cat is out-of-the-bag there will always be fun new temporal incursions we might have to deal with.
I kind of expect them to tackle the Nexus sometime in the next year or two.
What will the Dominion do now that the Iconian threat has ended? (Or has it? T'ket is still out there...)
When will the Cardassians get out of their "on-hold" minor player status?

Still have the Borg to deal with, still sitting at Vega(still hasn't been tied up since they redid the tutorial).

I'd just like to see the myriads of bugs fixed, for starters. So many things in the game are broken now. Lots of animations don't work right, for example. If they'd just fix all these bugs (or at least the most severe, game-breaking bugs), I'd be content with that. I know these things take time, but some noticeable progress on this would be nice.
Considering consoles are going to be a half season behind PCs on terms of content, Season 12 is not about consoles.
Believe what you want...here's what they did for season 5 even though there was lots of work prior to being F2P...
Season 5: Call to Arms December 1, 2011

(Free-to-Play)
Season 5 focused primarily on the conversion of Star Trek Online to a free-to-play model. Players who pay for a subscription are now referred to as "Gold" members and those who play for free are "Silver" members. Additionally, the in-game economy was overhauled; emblems, marks, and badges have now been condensed into a single currency, dilithium. Other major changes include a complete revamp of the skill system, faster leveling, the addition of an event calendar and mission journal, a "duty officer" system, and a new ground event. Major changes were also made to the Klingon faction. Klingon play is now unlocked when a Federation character reaches level 25, and the Klingon character will begin at level 21.[26]
The next big thing is console as it was similar fashion to F2P. You have to be living under a rock not to understand that one. I'm also sure some minor stuff will be added but if you are looking for something bigger look for an "expansion" not a season. The next expansion won't happen for at least 1 or 2 years from now. Don't take my word for it but look it up for yourself and search in the different forums and websites.
