By way no more money is passing my hands on this account anymore. If I want an ingame ship I will save Dilith or EC's to get it. I will play your F2P model & i think it's time every1 stood up & did the same instead of posting their anger. Answer with silience. Don't pay for anything in game. Now that will really hurt Cryptic & that will really make them stop & think more about taking care of their playerbase. So who's with me in this big petition of not buying another thing till Cryptic change their ways with lack of Bad Costumer service.
This couldn't have come at a worse time to alienate people either, with Blizzard gearing up for their own expansion to WoW next month. I was actually considering waiting to play that until after the 50th cause I'm enjoying AoY, but as I said earlier this is a massive turn off ... I was taking a break when DR launched but I understand now how many players felt when they were blanket labeled as exploiters.
One more odd thing I noticed. I got an e-mail after my last purchase ( about a week or two ago), it said that I was getting a reward box for buying zen 'for the first time'. Not sure what was up with that. I have spent money on this game since Zen came about (and before). I bought some in the spring too, and my history appears complete. I do hope they will put it in the store at some point.
OK ... Just logged back in and checked my setting and the box in front of "Allow us to send occasional newsletters and updates to your registered email address." is filled and I didn't get squat ....
So I guess my part of the selection criteria of adding anymore money to this will be changing and I'm not going to reveal that selection criteria .....
and if that the ways it is going to be then that is the way it will be ....... But you bet your bippy I'm going to get my free Uniform ....
Have fun everyone !!!!!!!
Yeah same here. The box is indeed checked so it has to be something else.
Ex-beta player, day 1 player, LTS and a bucketload spent on Zen over the years. No email. Be nice to know exactly what you had to do to qualify for this reward. Just leaves a sour taste in the mouth of vet players that suffered through the years of problems with this game.
First time "Buying" zen thingie.. that happens if you buy with a diff card and such also from what i hear.
And also.. They're Whole Data Protection thing doesn't hold water. Why would that prevent Qualification specifics? Srsly. would of expected something better. I am Upset i am not Getting it (the T6 D'kora) quite a bit, and honestly.. i don't think the "Loyal" users are Happy with This Lack of information and all. I also think that i Qualify as a "Loyal" user, for i do open Tons of lock boxes, you can see my handle pop up often. i spent several Thousand keys Alone on the Infinity box. True that i Did stop a bit with all the boxes now.. and that i did spend more keys before.. but still. Thousands of keys i used up.. who do you think Makes the market on keys? And zen? Ppl like me who Open them to get ships and stuff. For various reasons. Like Selling, or Even in my case collection keeping, which is why i am mad at Cryptic for Not getting me a T6 Nagus or even an alternative way of getting it. Heck if i need to i'll bust more keys just to get 1 for my collection Just to keep it complete.....
It is Fairly Obvious that They Don't Want me to Stick around.
I do believe that the Nagus will become available for the rest of the players at some point in the future, more than likely through an R&D pack. The recipients of the code are probably just like those who people who are lucky to get an advance screening of a movie. There is too much to made for Cryptic/PWE to not make it available to the masses.
For a lot of us it's not about the ship, it's about the implications of that email, it's put a bad taste in my mouth regarding this game. I'm going to attend the Anton Yelchin memorial tonight but after that I have no idea when I'll be logging in again, and I actually wish I could get a refund for everything I've purchased this year since clearly my money isn't valued enough for me to be considered an unwavering supporter.
I can understand the feeling of being slighted, if the criteria was buying Zen alone. Some have claimed to have spent less on Zen and received the email, while others claimed to have spent more and not received it. I don't think we will ever know what the full criteria was. I suspect that it a pool of email addresses were generated based on whatever metrics they used and from that pool, a small percentage received the email.
After my earlier post, I went ingame to deal with R&D and Rep projects before the server went down. I was in the Nagus at the time. I received a tell from someone I do not know and they asked if I was the same Sohtoh that posted in this thread this morning. After I answered yes, they decided to tell me how they felt about the situation. According to them, I am one of the biggest problems with the game. I am making things worse for everyone else by spending money on a free-to-play game and shouldn't be handing over a single dime to a dying game. And that because I had received the email that I should just be quiet on matter. That is the base of their argument, but they were not quite so nice about it. They were more hateful about it than anything.
I mention this, not to say that you are in the same category as this person (which I do not), but to let people know that people are beyond just being upset at Cryptic/PWE, they are also lashing out against those of us that received the email.
"I'm not big on telepaths myself. I'm not big on guns either. But if everyone else has them, I want to make sure I can get my hands on the biggest one I can."
If this was some kind of contest/promotion dont they legally have to disclose how people qualified to win?
Seems to have been a gift. In fact.... Can't see how it could qualify as a "Contest" or "promotion" since there has been absolutely nothing marketed about it what-so-ever.... the only reason anyone seems to know is that people who received it told other people that they received it.

Yeah. If Cryptic had any sense about this they would address it and fast to make things right. From what you're describing, this is gonna result in a situation in which everyone loses. The people who have the ships get to be shamed thanks to Cryptic's poor judgement. Cryptic will TRIBBLE people off and lose money thanks to their poor judgement. The feeling of satisfaction from the game will be lessened thanks to Cryptic's poor judgement. I don't understand their inability to just get out in front of this and talk about it for a moment. If they meant as a prize for so much money spent, then so be it, but at least be up front about the whole thing and not some scared wizard behind the curtain.
The problem here is Cryptic/PWE. They always do this sort of stuff. And The answer they posted is the worst 1 i seen so far. but in the long run.. i think we will be seeing more of those bad excuses.
It is Fairly Obvious that They Don't Want me to Stick around.

That's simple enough, they're just sore about not getting one. Don't let it bother you.
You did nothing wrong. You just lucked on the draw. Congrats btw.
And contrary to what that person said, had you, or I, or any other money spending players never dropped a dime on STO, this outraged person wouldn't even have a game to play.
So, yeah. Just ignore them. and move on. Not worth your time or concern.
I think this is 1 of those times when They do something to try to get more cash out of you.. and then end up killing the game because of lack of the ability to predict people. a Gigantic 1 here i say... VERY gigantic.
It is Fairly Obvious that They Don't Want me to Stick around.
Basically Cryptic just told us with this t6 Ferengi Exclusive:
Not all their customers support matters as much as others. They've given them to people who have admitted not to spending large amount. AT least give the rest of us a way to get a t6 Ferengi ship.
Thanks for the middle finger cryptic. You just lost a lot of people's support with this move.
Would be fun if they used a Bot to Send all the Responses that are not too serious. and then something breaks down and You get a response like you are a banned player an you just Sent a bug report. heh.
It is Fairly Obvious that They Don't Want me to Stick around.
If it's an arc gift based on arc metrics, then good night everyone. Arc claims that I've been playing STO for 19 hrs and 30 mins. For several years now. Who knows how many of my purchases went unnoticed...

Wow ... people that received the email did nothing wrong, so that hate was seriously misplaced, sounds to me like that particular individual was just jealous. I also find it humerus that a freeloader said those of us who actually support the game are the problem.

Oh if it's arc based I never had a chance, I used that long enough to get the Kahn costume on my toons, then uninstalled it and went back to the superior standalone launcher.
well we all do know 1 thing. the Bills are going to drop guys.. for this will be 1 Deadly run For PWE there. and you can bet they are doing something like that in they're other games. unless they manage to Fix it buy getting all the 4-5 year players what they Have a right to own. Okie only the nagus i don't care of the Phys pack.
It is Fairly Obvious that They Don't Want me to Stick around.
I'll forget about it alright.. as soon as I
A: Get The Nagus
B: Get rid of the game perma.
That being said, they will loose more ppl and more cash than they could of hoped for if they wanted to kill this game without Just shutting it down with no reason.

I think it's fair to assume that the influx of new players has likely resulted in them not being overly concerned about offending some of the longer-standing ones.
Well, at least some of those new players are going to say "if this is how they treat their long time players, do I really want to stick around?"
I never won that free iPad. Nor did I win a trip to the last Super Bowl, the last MLB All-Star Game or a cruise to the Bahamas. There's so many giveaways that I fit the criteria for and did NOT win, that I feel like the entire globe is just slapping me in the face. And this Nagus ship that I didn't receive? Just another open faced palm added to the long list of face slaps I've been getting over NOT winning free stuff.
What's the saddest part of this tragedy? If I WERE to quit, I couldn't give you all my stuff, because I never got any free stuff to give away when I ragequit! How's that for the ultimate slap in the proverbial face? Not only is Cryptic's non-free-gifting of me messing up my personal flow state, it's also depriving EVERY ONE OF YOU of the swag you deserve from my potential quitting.
All around this is terrible. Absolutely terrible. And Cryptic's metrics should have been able to predict this from jump. So they obviously did this with malicious intent and completely on purpose!

Obligatory; "Can I haz yer stuffz ?"
On another note. Game is nearly dead after this maint. Logged on and boom. Dced. Again.. and again.. aaaand again...
Thank You Cryptic. I now Know i am Loyal When i live with your mistakes........
