Launcher works, Arc works(not that I use it) and patcher works.
Click "Engage."

Patch to Tribble
"Star Trek Agents of Yesterday" Loading...(forever).
3 different machines Windows XP through 8.1 Nvidia, ATi, Intel and AMD.
Full uninstall and re-installs.
Disabled virus scanner.
Shut down everything else. (Though on a newer system (2 TB, SSD, 16GB hi-speeed memory, 2GB NIVidia card, etc...not sure why I'd need to.)
Is there a server outage?
This typically happens whenever there is an event, by the time tech fixes the issue and I can into the game, the event is half over and it is impossible to collect the main prize (ship). Hoping for a quicker resolution.
Lifer since Beta.

I'll retry and the launcher automatically verifies files...rinse, repeat.
I can't seem to contact actual support as I get redirected ad infinitum without actually being able to file a ticket. And evidently, there aren't many of us having issues as I can't find a main thread addressing the issue.
I have just done the most recent patch and , it's sitting counting files again.

Having to start every time in safe mode and then move all of my graphics settings back up is a TRIBBLE workaround. Is there being anything done with this?
As of right now the only permanent fix to this is to:
Open the STO launcher
Login if you don't launch from Arc, but don't launch the game
Click the Options button at the top
Scroll down to Command Line
Enter: -d3d11enable 0 -d3d9
Copy and paste for your convenience
Click save
Now you should be able launch the game without getting stuck
I have a thread about this issue here: http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1217819/graphics-overhaul-some-cant-use-d3d11-still
Go post your PC specs, and hopefully support will fix it with the expansion.

It is all working fine now though. What seemed to work for me was using Arc to start the launcher, then closing the Arc window (but not exiting it at the taskbar; just left it running in the background). I went into the game in safe mode, and found that I could now alter the resolution without trouble. I'm not sure why Arc would have made a difference (I can't rule out the possibility that it was just a coincidence), but everything has been fine since.

Any suggestions?

Been having similar issues on mine until I downgraded my graphics driver to the one last supplied by my laptop OEM (Gigabyte). When I told Windows update to then leave my drivers alone it has been fine. Maybe that is worth a try, ie go to MSI's website and download and install the lastest driver from there and do not update again unless MSI make another available.

since the 6th down load I still cant get in and support is no help. I know its not on my end, game was fine before the 6th...Now it just says patching for days or if i restart and get it to patch i just get a cryptic error message
thansk for this info, my game has always ran fine until the 6th update, now log in screen freezes saying patching or when it loads after a restart i just get a cryptic error..I will try this out
So by some miracle everything worked yesterday! I loaded in and everything worked! I realized that I still had the dx9 command lines still in, so I felt bold and shut down the game, removed them, and tried again. The game worked just fine under dx11!
So I played yesterday, no problems. Last night, I shut down the computer, and come back to the game today... and same problem. Game freezes on load screen with dx11. I'm just tired with the game and having to set in the dx9 command lines. Physically can't play the game until they fix it. Done with workarounds.
So anyone else have any advise? I'm willing to try some other things. So far the -dx9 command line was the only thing that worked until the latest patches. Now that doesn't work for me either.
