8. My default Tarsi has dark blonde hair with a medium blue skin - makes her look sickly green. Perhaps keep to white hair like in ENT?
6. The shuttlecraft launch animation flies through the closed outer doors.
3. Most NPCs, including Lt Marius, et al, fire ST:VOY era phaser rifles, rather than TOS era rifles. Damages immersion.
4. Cave-apes' spears are invisible when actually shooting at you.
7. Crewman Flores' body magically disappears despite dying immediately before the end of the cutscene.
7. Lt Marius slides instead of runs from the three cave-apes
7. The three cave-apes also slide along the ground instead of run
7. Commander Spock slides along the ground instead of walks into the newly-promoted Admiral's office. He then runs out (instead of walks).
6. The Admiral giving you command of the ship needs more explanation to make it logical - eg, why is he promoted to Admiral having just commanded this small ship, yet it is now OK for a junior Lieutenant to command it? Perhaps more back-story would help, that you've served together for longer and he thinks you're clearly capable and ready, plus he took command of that ship to develop you as an XO rather than as a frontline ship?
[*]8. My default Tarsi has dark blonde hair with a medium blue skin - makes her look sickly green. Perhaps keep to white hair like in ENT?
So I went to the Tailor and changed the appearance of my BOFFs - had access to the Odyssey uniforms and changed Tarsi significantly (including to white hair), however the NPC windows when they pop up on the left display the default options. Suggest revision.
Post-patch, chief showed up, no rifle problems. Far as I got yesterday - I had to patch, enter, get rejected, and re-patch still. That needs to be fixed.
Fate - protects fools, small children, and ships named Enterprise Will Riker

The new tutorials pretty interesting. Other birds most of the seats near the conferences are too far away so it looks like the characters are sitting in mid-air. Even after the update it is still pretty buggy when you try equip the rifle. Takes a while before we even register that it is equipped and then when you have to shoot the target or for practice you are unable to shoot at it unless switch to manual targeting even then the targets are not targetable. You are just shooting randomly and items aren't being destroyed. But after a certain amount of time it will register that that task is done. So until they fix that major flaw it will be a frustrating issue for all players that have or encounter this issue.
Before I forget the plate on the bridge that should identify the ship shows a constitution-class ship and not the actual ship that you're on.

also there is this:
At most, wouldn't he possibly be a commodore? or does he get a promotion between the tutorial and when I get that mission?
To be perfectly honest, they never should have eliminated the Commodore rank post-TOS. It was described as a Fleet Captain rank, being in command of a number of ships (without being chained to a desk like Admirals do prior to STO, Kirk was itching to get back to space in the movies before being demoted back to Captain).
And it sounds a heck of a lot better than Rear Admiral Lower Half. Please Cryptic, ask CBS to bring back the Commodore rank! (Pretty please with a cherry on top!)
The cutscene with Dr. Mears being chased by the giants....
Both the good doctor and the giants only run so far before they stop the running animation while sliding to a stop. Almost reminds me of a Looney Tune cartoon....
Episode manifest not loading, Version mismatch, countless times either re-patching, re-launching or in general system reboots, verified all files (more than once) and I still can't seem to get back into Tribble to play the new episodes there. The game has crashed so hard that it shuts down my laptop.......any suggestions or assistance would be helpful and appreciated....
I also write in support of the use of the rank 'Commodore' over 'Rear Admiral Lower Half'. Totally fine the ranks going Commodore - Rear Admiral - Vice Admiral - Admiral - Fleet Admiral .
Particularly given that Rear Admiral Lower Half originated entirely as a quirk of the US Congress, I'd be for the use of the more traditional (and more broadly used) naval term Commodore.
So far I get a get a weird tunnel vision in the TOS interior, a weird black shadow around the copernicus before launch
I get the same effect.
Some other small bugs:
On the planet, in some of the cutscenes, the characters don't run - they sort of glide along without the animation of moving.
Also, when I am told I am to be promoted to captain, Spock bursts into the room like he has something really important to say. Surely he should just walk in and then walk out again.

Or just you know, walk in normally. I noticed the gliding of the characters during a few cutscenes, too. I think a few of the Taurians were moving backwards in the one where they come up over a small hill towards the camera. I also noticed the shuttlecraft flying through the closed doors that was reported earlier.

They're using the TOS bridge that's currently for sale in game. If you visit the bridge of your ship after the mission, the default Federation bridge is shown. Really jars the immersion.
I am loving the ship hit and torpedo launch sound effects.
Pretty good stuff so far. I haven't had any of the game-crashing hiccups described earlier, just some issues with cut-scenes and cinematics as well as still seeing TNG phaser rifles. But the Taureans on Ice thing (or maybe it's rollerskates? They are stone-age, after all) made me laugh. Invisible hostages, snowball fights and so on still exist. Low priority stuff compared to things that stop game progression I'm sure.
"You seem to have gotten some of your blood in my raktajino. This is unfortunate."
I've encountered a few bugs, largely graphical or continuity issues.
NPC's use 24th/25th Century Phasers and Phaser Rifles.
Shuttle Bay door's don't open.
When returning to the ship the bay doors don't open, the shuttle sits outside the hull.
Transporter effects are KDF/FED for the 25th century.
When returning to shuttle the crew with Mears are duplicates of the two you rescue, also the dead crewman from the landing is with her, alive and well.
When in the cave, the two kidnapped crewman are invisible until the cut scene is done.
Sometimes the Tricorder appears as the 24th century VOY/TNG one.
As for Feedback, I'm a little disappointed in the speed of it all. It feels quite rushed, everything is happening at once almost.
I'd rather the tutorial was more relaxed and less quickly passed. With the option to spend more time exploring the wreck searching for survivors as an introduction to the games controls and how scanning works, as well as the frequency minigame.
In Comparison the 25th century UFP Tutorial is longer more immersive and informative than the TOS one.
* Remember when the Enterprise orbited Talos IV? They noted the scattered wreckage of the S.S. Columbia across a wide swath. The ground map suggests the crashed starship is just like our own. Not small. It makes sense for the officer scanning the surface before beam down to better note that it's actual starship wreckage down there.
* If the mission's science team were all in the crashed shuttlecraft, why were they separated from the starship? Are all the starship crew - save the shuttlecraft team - presumed dead? Did each vessel crash for the same reason? Was it Klingons or the Murasaki Effect at greater activity than when the Enterprise safely orbited? Could it have been both?
* It seems odd to me to see a TOS Captain immediately promoted to Admiral of ESD. In fact, I question the space station being called ESD at all. Why not make him a TOS Commodore of Starbase One? Why not make these points more Trek?
(/\) Exploring Star Trek Online Since July 2008 (/\)
This was never addressed in screen "canon" but Starbase 1 was destroyed by the Romulan's in the events leading up to the Romulan War. Starbase 1 was in the Algeron system. In memory of the lives lost in the attack and occupation Starfleet Command elected to retire the designation.
Just run the mission a second time and, apart from the graphical errors, Shuttles flying through closed doors, 25th century phaser rifles and such, It worked well, no hitches to break the mission. Although I did have a "It's just a flesh wound" moment when a giant spear skewered me without any real effect. I looked rather silly with a spear apparently going right through my heart but still firing, apparently unhurt.
Okay finally had gotten to finish this one and issues are at Admiral Garret's office.
Spock jumps into office and then slow motion runs out of office instead of walking.
High graphics settings and normal view of two men reasonable clear. Then close ups blur to the point I look to see if my glasses fell off. Please tell me this is not the new improved lighting as it feels ten years older than this game itself.
Got my vet rewards and listed as in mail but no mail till 25th century.
Loved hearing Scotty and McCoy referencing Everything Old is New and Night of the Comet even though they have not happened as far as your character is concerned.
Nicely done.

Just replayed the first part of this and the crew of the ship is still not spawning regularly in the hallways for me, this includes the crewman that is practicing with the phaser in the armory. It had appeared that this was fixed. I'll give it another play though tomorrow and see if the problem still persists.
played the updated episode, and when you electrify the hull, the cutscene shows the electrification going on up and outwards away from the hull in a hull like shape. So, it's almost as if there's a colorful ghost hull happening.
Just a minor thing, Tarsi, our Andorian security officer, now wears a Gold uniform. She is supposed to behead of security and later has a conversation with Hunter where she mentions that "Us redshirts need to stick together." As she is now a Gold shirt, and on the Command track, You will need to either change her uniform back to red, or change the dialogue. I suggest changing her uniform, It'll be easier than re recording the dialogue.
Hello all:
Ok this is presumably after the patch on 6-28
Getting past character creation, Science Path, and Tactical Path worked as expected. (Female Vulcans)
Basic movement/first interaction with the Captain went ok. His shoes/feet need to be on the surface of the chair podium, and not partially imbedded in it. (Still happening, evidently.)
Chair placement, as you go to scan the planet, there is one chair well away from the consoles and very much out of place. Also the animation for use the scanner, has you bending away from the scanner interface. (Face the turbo-lift, first chair on the left.)
Equipped paser, shot targets three. Check.
Wandering around towards shuttle bay. It seems like the camera positioning is higher than it should be.
Jefferies tubes ladders.... Ok, the use of one ladder segment, is clearly not going to give the impression of completeness to the tubes. I walked over and looked up and down, and well, the ladders don't go up or down far enough to give the impression that someone was actually trying to make the scene correctly. Attention to detail please!!!
Shuttle bay,
There are no un-named shuttles on an active duty starship. If you have to have the spare shuttle there, name it something cool. I'd suggest the name of the actress who played Yeoman Rand, for example.
Copernicus launch: The rear of the shuttle (rear panel top) seemed to be missing a full glow across the impulse section.
Taur Warriors occasionally did not death animate all the time.
Everyone had the right era of rifles.
Taur Chief did not death animate completely
The dancing shadows from the fire, are way over the top. I think you need to adjust the light sources on the fire.
Only some of the Klingons death-animated on the planet.
Back on the ship.
Oi, we have Klingons.
These fights and interaction went ok, with minimal (non-death animations.)
After doing the class specific task, I reported to the bridge, and well, stood their waiting on a prompt for a few moments. Evidently I was supposed to go to to the coms panel and interact with it. (Need moar caffeine plse.)
Typical Kingon blather.
Took control of ship.
The controls etc worked as designed.
Fought bad guy's... then went to rescue Enterprise. Ok can you make this fight seem like a boss fight, aside from the boss running away all the time bit? Also where is the space loot from other destroyed ships?
Traveled to ESD.
The Bar.
Ok, Nurse Rand is not Uhura, please fix, and give Rand some dialog.
Also as so many people have stated on the close ups, kill the blur/softening effect, it makes my eyes bug out.
Spock's speech.
"Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow
of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath
borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how
abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rims at
it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know
not how oft. Where be your gibes now? Your
gambols? Your songs? Your flashes of merriment,
that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one
now, to mock your own grinning? Quite chap-fallen?"
Just ran the tutorial again, got all the way through it, talked to the Enterprise crew on ESD, Ensign Rant gets spoken for by Uhura, no biggie. Ran around ESD, talked to every one. Got told good things by Admiral Garret, went to space, no new mission, Wait a moment, Still got The Taurean Affair active in quest list, it's asking me to take the helm. Don't understand, get Tarsi and new equipment ok, activated console ok, went to space portion of mission and killed klingons ok. everything looks complete. Admiral Garret even promoted me to captaining my own ship. What did I miss?
I have the same problem. The missions tells me to take the helm but theres nothing to do. I beamed on the ship, visited the bridge, went into sector space, went into every room on ESD.
And despite playing through the tutorial several dozen times, I still can't get the Taurean Affair to resolve either. I suspect this is one bug that will be fixed when the update goes live.

The following was posted in a separate thread in this forum. The numbers are a priority scale where 1 is the most important and 10 the least.
